Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Smith manages to break the clinch.

Silva drives through with a takedown into guard.

Redman throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Masaru closes the distance and clinches up with Redman, looking for a takedown. Masaru pushes Redman against the cage but Redman circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Masaru counters with a single leg into guard. Redman didn't expect that.
Masaru stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Redman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Masaru will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Redman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis swings for the body but Jones moves out of range.
Lewis misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jones.
Nice defenses there by Jones.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Lewis shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lewis slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Lewis cracks Jones with an uppercut from hell and Jones crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Lewis's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Hardy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Santos but Santos pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Den Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Hardy.

Hardy is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Santos has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That was a close round but I would say that Den Santos will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Santos gets to his feet - Hardy follows without any prompting.

Santos will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hardy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Santos as he avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Den Santos will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Santos looks to land a combination but Hardy avoids it well.

Hardy closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Hardy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hardy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Santos wants to stand but Hardy has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Hardy is working an open guard so Santos takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Santos misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Santos lands with a hook. Hardy tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Santos takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Santos tries to bum rush Hardy with a series of wild strikes but Hardy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Santos throws a series of punches but Hardy avoids them all with ease.
Santos goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Santos throws a right and a left that both miss.
Santos tests Hardy's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Santos stuffs the takedown.
Den Santos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Hardy.

Hardy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Hardy seems to be working for a kimura but Santos defends the submission attempt.
Dan Hardy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Den Santos is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Santos wants to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Den Santos.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Santos, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

rooie mano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
mano shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cutting defends it nicely.
Bill Cutting has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of rooie mano.
mano dives in and grabs Cutting's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cutting pushes down on mano's head and hops out.
Cutting throws a sloppy head kick and mano moves out of range easily.
mano takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Cutting tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Cutting lands a brutal head kick. mano looks out on his feet and Cutting throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
