The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Almeida throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gracie works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Almeida is looking to work some ground and pound but Gracie has wrist control.

Almeida avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gracie is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Gracie tries to pass to full mount but Almeida defends it.
Almeida tries to get to full guard but Gracie has control of the leg.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Pickens! Baskov is out on his feet! Pickens rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Baskov is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Baskov is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Fedor looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jackson has picked Fedor up and slammed him! Fedor can't keep hold of the triangle and Jackson manages to pass to side control!

Fedor is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jackson pulls his head out easily.
