The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alves moves into range and clinches up with Muhammad.

Alves gets control of Muhammad's arms and successfully pulls guard. Alves will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Muhammad drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alves manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Muhammad has Alves in his guard.
