Jonas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carter's waist but Carter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jonas off to one side.
Carter's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Carter duly obliges.
Carter tries to bum rush Jonas with a series of wild strikes but Jonas uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Carter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jack Jonas just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Carter looks to land a combination but Jonas avoids it well.
Carter throws a right hand that Jonas ducks under and follows up with a left that Jonas also avoids with ease.

Jonas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jack Jonas.
