Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Larry Mullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and ZPryde Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simmons has chosen Remember the Name as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mullen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Simmons throws a left and a right that both miss

and Mullen counters with a shoot takedown. Simmons fights it but they end up in guard.

Simmons is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mullen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Simmons had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mullen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Simmons Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mullen's back instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Simmons is looking for a choke. Mullen gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Mullen manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Mullen drops back looking for a leg! Simmons is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Simmons manages to kick Mullen off! Mullen jumps back into Simmons's guard.

I think SILVEIRA might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hino Rio Grandense. Natter has chosen Keep Rollin' Remix as his entrance music. The key to victory for MARCO SILVEIRA has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.
