The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramone goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Mang Tomas has been cut.
Tomas on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Doyle keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Doyle closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Gr to the mat! Gr manages to get full guard.

Doyle thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Doyle has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Gr to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Doyle is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Gr pulls down on the head and he's put Doyle to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Abel Fernandez!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barca swats away the attempt to clinch by Fernandez.
Fernandez blocks a head kick by Barca.
Barca shoots in looking for a takedown. Fernandez tries to sprawl out of it but Barca keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Fernandez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Barca darts in trying to clinch

and Fernandez counters by moving into the clinch.
Barca tries for a takedown. No joy.
Fernandez can't get the takedown.
Barca has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Fernandez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Constantine Barca. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barca tightens his grip and picks Fernandez up, before dumping him to the ground. Fernandez manages to land in guard.
Barca controls from within his opponent's guard.
Barca wants to control from the top but Fernandez keeps moving.

Fernandez is looking to sweep but instead, Barca has passed into half guard.
Barca seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fernandez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Barca is really struggling to control Fernandez but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Barca throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Fernandez is looking to improve his position.
Barca content to control rather than advance.
Barca has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fernandez is trying to escape back to his feet but Barca uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Fernandez tries to strike but it doesn't land.
Barca is looking to take a break and control but Fernandez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Fernandez lands with a nice combination. Barca backs away looking to recover.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Barca closes the distance and pushes Fernandez back into the ropes.

Barca breaks from the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fernandez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Barca shoots and misses

and Fernandez counters with a single leg into guard. Barca didn't expect that.
Fernandez won't allow Barca to sweep him here.
Fernandez postures up.

Barca is looking to sinch up a triangle. Fernandez throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Barca's body to avoid the submission. Barca has instead reached around Fernandez's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Barca arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
