Akimbo feints and as Caliban raises his hands in defense, Akimbo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Caliban is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Akimbo has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Caliban to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Akimbo is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Caliban pulls down on the head and he's put Akimbo to sleep! This one is all over!

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Loomis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Christ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Loomis kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Strapping Young Lad - Anti Product. Jesus Christ struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 266.6lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Bob Loomis has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Christ misses with a takedown attempt - Loomis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Murray shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Murray showed some decent athleticism there.

Murray moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Gore.
Gore is trying to improve his position.
Gore gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Gore tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Murray really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gore. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
