The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Khalidov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vovchanchyn keeps working.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Khalidov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vovchanchyn throws out the jab.
Vovchanchyn stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Khalidov.
Khalidov dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Vovchanchyn. That did some damage!

Vovchanchyn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Khalidov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vovchanchyn somewhat.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Vovchanchyn checks a leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Wanderlei Vovchanchyn will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
