Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Arm Barr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kova Sana!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barr rushes Sana and presses him up against the ropes.
Barr is looking to control Sana's arms but Sana gets an underhook and turns him. Now Barr has his back to the ropes.
A looping hook to the body misses from Barr. Sana does a little dance to reset his feet.
Barr shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sana as he jumps to the side.
The fight stays on the outside here - Barr looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Barr throws and low kick but Sana moves out of range easily.

Barr gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Sana is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Barr managing to block the knees to the body from Sana.
Barr throws an elbow that misses.
Barr has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sana is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Sana goes for a takedown in the clinch but Barr prevents it.

Arm Barr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kova Sana.
Barr's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Barr ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Barr no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Barr had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sana is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Barr Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sana's back instead.

Barr has the hooks in. Sana is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Sana manages to reverse the position and now he's in Barr's guard. Nice work there by Sana.
Sana would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Sana feints and as Barr raises his hands in defense, Sana changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Arm Barr will probably get the nod.

Sana shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Barr pinned against the cage. Barr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kova Sana comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jari Kankkunen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Armas Ruutana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kankkunen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Go to sleep. Ruutana has chosen Ennio Morricone - Man With A Harmonica as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jari Kankkunen has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rogerio Fernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaapo Hannuksela (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hannuksela comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Sex Pistols - Submission kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niinivaara lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

It looks like Reijo Laamanen has been cut.
Laamanen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Laamanen tries to close the distance and clinch but Niinivaara swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Niinivaara throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Laamanen counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Laamanen looks at the referee who does nothing so Laamanen lands a crushing right that sends Niinivaara to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
