The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira throws a head kick that misses.
Nogueira changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Scouten tries to avoid it but Nogueira manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Scouten to the ground. Scouten escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nogueira shoots in looking for a takedown. Scouten tries to sprawl out of it but Nogueira keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Scouten manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nogueira looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mauricio Nogueira. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nogueira tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Scouten paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Scouten looking for a guillotine here but Nogueira defends easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nogueira tries to close the distance and clinch up but Scouten swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Scouten shoots in and bounces Nogueira off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Mauricio Nogueira will probably get the nod.

Scouten goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Nogueira has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Scouten but great work by Nogueira.

Scouten fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nogueira sprawls well initially but Scouten persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Scouten wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nogueira keeps working.

Nogueira tries to kick Scouten off in order to stand up. Scouten Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Nogueira is not content to let Scouten control the position.
Scouten in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Scouten is looking to take a break and control but Nogueira is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Williams looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Austin lands a knee to the head.

Austin is trying to trip Williams. He has hold of a leg but Williams is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Austin persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Austin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Williams's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Williams strikes from the bottom but Austin uses the opportunity to move to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Austin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Austin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Williams keeps working.
Austin cracks Williams with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kong takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Tyre fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
