The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sweet blocks a head kick by Wright.
Sweet looks to land a combination but Wright avoids it well.

Sweet closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Wright is trying to control Sweet's posture but Sweet avoids it.
Wright is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Sweet's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Wright had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sweet is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wright Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sweet's back instead.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nate Wright.
Well Sweet has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Conroy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alexs tries to avoid it but Conroy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alexs to the ground. Alexs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
