The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
the Ripper throws a head kick that Shady semi-blocks.
the Ripper tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

the Ripper fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Shady sprawls well initially but the Ripper persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Shady missing with punches from the bottom.
Shady trying to control but the Ripper postures up.
Shady tries to roll over but the Ripper keeps him under control.
the Ripper misses with a head shot. Shady uses the momentum to regain guard.
Shady is trying to hold the Ripper in close to prevent damage but the Ripper has managed to pass into half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

the Ripper bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shady might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Shady drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shady jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

the Ripper has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shady can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Shady drops back looking for a leg! the Ripper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and the Ripper manages to kick Shady off! Shady jumps back into the Ripper's guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Shady has hold of the Ripper's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and the Ripper manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Shady avoids the attempt from the Ripper to control.
the Ripper keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Shady has control of the Ripper's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and the Ripper regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Shady is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but the Ripper is surviving well by controlling Shady's body position as best he can.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Shady prevents the Ripper from getting the reversal.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well the Ripper has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Nesbitt has his feet on Brown's thighs here. He's pushed Brown off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Brown screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Rye takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Sam Rye has been cut.
Horrible takedown by Rye or perhaps it was just good defense by Ware which made him look bad.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rye.
Rye uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ware.
Good leg kick by Ware there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Rye looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A slow jab from Ware misses its intended target.
Ware thuds his right hand into Rye's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Ware cracks Rye with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Rye tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Ware pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Rye is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). CoCo Ware!
