Elo is desperately trying to improve his position but Saliva has a good base and remains in mount.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Salmelainen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with the tank, pushing him back against the cage.

the tank escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Salmelainen takes a body punch but keeps moving.

the tank throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Salmelainen on the side of the head.

Nasty fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Palhares shoots and misses

and Nasty decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Palhares's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Palhares is on top in guard.
Palhares passes Nasty's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Palhares decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Palhares closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Nasty is not content to let Palhares control the position.
Nasty is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Palhares tries to advance to mount but Nasty denies him.

Palhares is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Nasty has escaped the position, nice work there.

Palhares in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Nasty is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Jonners throws a hook but Benn blocks it.

Benn tries to bum rush Jonners with a series of wild strikes but Jonners uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Benn jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Benn takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like PJ Benn has been cut.
Jonners scores with a jab.
Jonners misses with a double jab.
Jonners steps into range and cracks Benn with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Benn flops backwards and Jonners dives into his guard looking to finish!

Benn is rocked!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Benn utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Benn is still in real trouble! Can Jonners finish him?

Benn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jonners doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jonners manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Benn seems to have recovered his senses.

Benn has a closed guard, preventing Jonners from standing up.

Benn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jonners can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jonners is posturing up here but Benn has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Jonners tries to roll out but it's too tight and Jonners has to tap! Slick submission there by Benn!
