The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lonkar but Lonkar pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tyson shoots in but Lonkar avoids the takedown attempt easily.

George Lonkar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Tyson.

Tyson has his foot on Lonkar 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lonkar works his way back into a safe position though.

Lonkar has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Tyson's face.
Lonkar postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Tyson looks a forlorn figure.

Tyson tries to hold on but Lonkar pushes him away.

Tyson is in a horrible position here. Lonkar smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tyson wants to hold on but Lonkar pushes him away.
Lonkar is landing with some decent strikes but Tyson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Lonkar cracks Tyson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

George Lonkar dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Lonkar looks to land a combination but Tyson avoids it well.
Nice sprawl there from Lonkar as Tyson shoots in.
Tyson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Lonkar tries to bum rush Tyson with a series of wild strikes but Tyson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lonkar throws a jab when Tyson was well out of range.
Lonkar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tyson moves away.
Lonkar throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Lonkar breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tyson is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Tyson closes the distance but Lonkar moves to the side
and Lonkar counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Tyson is breathing heavily.
Lonkar connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Tyson momentarily.
Tyson misses with a takedown

and Lonkar counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tyson won't be happy with that.

George Lonkar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lonkar has hold of Tyson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Tyson seems comfortable defending it but Lonkar has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Tyson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Tyson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Lonkar couldn't care less - he's delighted!
