That was a close round but I would say that Dan Guti will probably get the nod.

Guti had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Baikov is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Guti Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Baikov's back instead.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elizondo Tacos!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Buck Nutt!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nutt has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Nutt there as he acknowledges the shot.
Nutt throws a sloppy head kick and Tacos moves out of range easily.
Tacos lands a jab to Nutt's midsection.
Tacos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nutt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nutt needs to keep his hands up - Tacos had a free shot at his head there.
Tacos lunges at Nutt with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Nutt's hand.
Buck Nutt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nutt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Nutt gets caught flat footed, as Tacos shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Tacos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Nutt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tacos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee warns Nutt that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Tacos postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Nutt looks a forlorn figure.

Tacos has hold of Nutt's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Nutt manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tacos is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nutt can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Tacos takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
BOOM! Tacos connects with a massive shot to the dome!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Nutt dodges the ground and pound from Tacos.
Tacos connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Nutt some visible discomfort.
Tacos happy to just control the position for now.

Nutt takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Tacos throws a strike aimed at the side of Nutt's head but Nutt avoids it well.
Tacos is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nutt can do to turn this around?

Tacos throws an elbow but Nutt slips to the side and avoids it well.

Elizondo Tacos overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The ground and pound from Tacos seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Nutt tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tacos wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Tacos goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Nutt rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Tacos's guard! Nice work there by Nutt!

Nutt has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Tacos to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Nutt is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Tacos pulls down on the head and he's put Nutt to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Elizondo Tacos!
