Power throws a hook to the side of Masaru's head but Masaru sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Power drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Masaru manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Power has Masaru in his guard.

Masaru is looking to advance position but Power won't allow it.

Masaru looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Power knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Masaru on the ground.

Masaru goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Power turns into him and now he's in Masaru's guard.

A head kick by Power - that's a beauty! Masaru is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even Power can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Tanaka looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Honsu darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Honsu seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tanaka is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Honsu tries to pass to full mount but Tanaka defends it.
Honsu looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Honsu is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Still in half guard, Honsu seems content to control.

Tanaka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Honsu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Honsu gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Honsu apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Sparta kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Just like you imagined - 300 theme. Aikido JuJoKata struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Diziz Sparta has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.
