Undercard bout

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Hosking (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maximus Battery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hosking comes to the cage accompanied by War Machine. Maximus Battery is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Battery shoots in but no luck this time.

Hosking looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Battery manages to get to full guard.

Battery had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hosking is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Battery Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hosking's back instead.
Hosking has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Battery.
Battery keeps control of the position easily here as Hosking tries to buck him off.

Battery has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hosking has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Battery is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hosking is surviving well by controlling Battery's body position as best he can.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Battery fails to take his opponent's back.
Battery sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Hosking is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hosking tries to hold on but Battery pushes him away.

Battery jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hosking is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hosking and Battery has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Hosking is trying to control Battery's posture but Battery avoids it.

Battery is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hosking is just riding it out for now. Battery eventually gives up the hold.

Hosking has Battery pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hosking pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Battery tumbling to the mat - Hosking dives into Battery's guard.

Battery is looking for a triangle here but Hosking uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Battery drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hosking manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Battery has Hosking in his guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
