Makounochi lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Dempsey at a distance.
Dempsey cracks Makounochi with a good jab.
Dempsey throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ippo Makounochi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Martin tries to clinch but Goss moves out of range.
Martin looks for a takedown but Goss sprawls well.

Goss feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Goss slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Goss working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Goss takes a little break here. Martin wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Goss is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Martin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Goss is looking to take a break and control but Martin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Goss goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Martin has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Goss but great work by Martin.
