The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beers will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Cipriano tries for a takedown but Beers sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Beers tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cipriano paws at him with a jab and circles away. Cipriano gets the takedown into side control. Cipriano tries for a kimura but Beers is defending well. Beers prevents Cipriano from moving into mount. Cipriano is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Beers knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Cipriano tries for a kimura but Beers is defending well. Cipriano tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Beers is looking to regain half guard here but Cipriano keeps moving and retains side control.

Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Cipriano sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Cipriano is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Beers's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Beers's back! Cipriano is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Maybe a few strikes would soften Beers for a finish. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Beers is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Cipriano gets his way!
This has been an exciting period of action! Cipriano tightening his grip on Beers, looking for the choke. Cipriano seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Beers's chin but Beers turns very nicely into Cipriano's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Beers.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Beers is posturing up here but Cipriano has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Beers tries to roll out but it's too tight and Beers has to tap! Slick submission there by Cipriano!

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Aruba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Acton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these fighters had to take extra time to make weight as they missed the initial 155lb limit. Mauricio Aruba came in at 157.7 and Frank Acton came in at 157.8 but after the extra two hours, both guys managed to get within the one pound allowance. No doubt it will have affected them physically though, so let's see if that has an impact on the fight. Frank Acton is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Jorge stops Libris from standing up. Jorge sitting in guard, not really doing much. Jorge slips nicely into half guard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trapp throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Davis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Trapp to the mat! Trapp manages to get full guard. Davis has gone for a leg lock! Trapp slips out almost immediately though and dives into Davis's guard. Davis has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Davis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Trapp is one step ahead there. Davis pulls Trapp in close to prevent any damage.

Davis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Trapp tries to avoid it but Davis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Trapp to the ground. Trapp escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Bear Trapp is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Davis shoots in looking for a takedown. Trapp tries to sprawl out of it but Davis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Trapp manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Izzy Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Trapp displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Davis takes a shot right to the bread basket. Davis drops his hands momentarily and Trapp takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Davis closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. Davis trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Davis wants to pass the guard but Trapp is keeping the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Trapp goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Some wild striking there from Trapp.
Bear Trapp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Trapp throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Trapp scores with a one two! Davis had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Trapp moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Trapp scores with a three punch combo!
Davis gets the takedown into side control. Trapp prevents Davis from moving into mount. Davis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Davis in side control, throwing shots but Trapp defends.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis has hold of Trapp's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Trapp seems comfortable defending it but Davis has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Trapp is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Trapp is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Davis couldn't care less - he's delighted!
