Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Seamus Thurston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeeves Smith! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith fails in his attempt to clinch. Smith throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Smith misses with a head kick.
Thurston darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Thurston trying to control from half guard but Smith is working away. Thurston seems to be looking for submissions.
Thurston is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Smith is just riding it out for now. Thurston eventually gives up the hold. Thurston sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Smith defending well though. Thurston not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Thurston decides to stand and escape the position. Thurston avoids the head kick by Smith.
Smith tries a head kick but it misses.
Thurston throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith's waist but Smith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thurston off to one side. Thurston blocks a leg kick. No luck for Thurston with that takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith throws out a loose jab but Thurston uses good head movement to avoid it. Jeeves Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Smith throws a quick inside leg kick. Thurston is breathing heavily. Horrible takedown by Thurston or perhaps it was just good defense by Smith which made him look bad. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seamus Thurston. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Thurston wants to free his trapped foot but Smith is holding on for dear life with his legs. Thurston is looking for a kimura but Smith is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Thurston to get the leverage. Thurston is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Smith is just riding it out for now. Thurston eventually gives up the hold. Thurston trying to mount his opponent but Smith defends it. Smith is not content to let Thurston control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smith is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thurston is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Smith doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Thurston.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Smith tries to clinch up. Thurston fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smith manages to avoid it. Good leg kick by Smith there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Thurston tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smith clinches up against the cage. Smith misses with an elbow strike.

Smith is pressed up against the cage. Thurston has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Smith down to the mat. Smith avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Smith scores with a jab. Smith is looking to clinch but Thurston is avoiding it.

Thurston shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one. Smith lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Thurston shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Thurston looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Smith is in a horrible position here. Thurston smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Thurston can't keep his opponent in guard - Smith advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Thurston is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Smith jumps into side control! Smith is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Thurston has escaped the position, nice work there. You can see the frustration on Thurston's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Thurston knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Thurston manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Thurston working the head and body with strikes. Thurston frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Smith is looking to get to half guard. Smith taking shots to the head. Thurston with a couple of short strikes. Thurston thowing shots but they're missing. Thurston unloads with some shots from mount but Smith bucks and avoids them well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smith regains half guard. Thurston working the head and body with strikes. Thurston is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Thurston is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Thurston closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Thurston has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Thurston wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working. Thurston is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Smith knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Smith gets back to half guard. Thurston works his foot free and advances to mount. Thurston postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Smith looks a forlorn figure.
Thurston jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Smith manages to avoid the submission attempt. Smith gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Smith trying to control here.

Seamus Thurston overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Thurston tries to free his leg and advance position but Smith is retaining full guard. Smith had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Thurston is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Smith Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Thurston's back instead. Smith is trying to stick to Thurston's back but Thurston is turning into Smith. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Smith's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Thurston. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Thurston's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Thurston wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving. Thurston working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Thurston drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thurston jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Smith plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Thurston scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Thurston tries for a kimura but Smith is defending well. Smith gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Thurston with a couple of short strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thurston landing strikes from the mount. Thurston landing strikes, looking to finish! Thurston landing punches. Thurston lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Thurston lands a nice shot to the head. Thurston wants to finish this one by submission but Smith is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Thurston. Thurston working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Smith turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Thurston off and cradles Smith's limp body as Thurston celebrates with his corner.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bhu throws a head kick that misses and Voutilainen counters with a nice double leg into guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bhu has Voutilainen pulled in close to control his posture. Voutilainen looking to pass the guard. Bhu is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Bhu is looking to stand up but Voutilainen isn't so interested in that idea. Voutilainen has gone for a leg lock! Bhu slips out almost immediately though and dives into Voutilainen's guard.

Voutilainen stopping the sweep attempt from Bhu. Bhu keeping moving, preventing Voutilainen from controlling successfully. Bhu has control of Voutilainen's left arm, preventing Voutilainen from doing any damage. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bhu throws a sloppy head kick and Voutilainen moves out of range easily. Voutilainen on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Bhu. Bhu obviously looking to wear him down.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bhu looks to land a combination but Voutilainen avoids it well. Bhu bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Voutilainen's head backwards. Bhu wants to clinch but Voutilainen slips to the side and Voutilainen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bhu's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Voutilainen stands up from Bhu's guard - Voutilainen perhaps looking for a knockout. Bhu misses with a lunging right hand
and Voutilainen counters with a big head kick but Bhu shrugs it off. Bhu blocks the body kick.
Nice defenses there by Voutilainen. Voutilainen checks a leg kick nicely. Voutilainen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Voutilainen fails with the takedown. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bhu, as that shot connected.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Crunch! Bhu slams his shin into Voutilainen's torso. Voutilainen gets in close and instigates a clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Voutilainen manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Samu Voutilainen has got the better of the ground game so far. Bhu stopping the sweep attempt from Voutilainen. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Voutilainen is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Bhu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Voutilainen is keeping the position for now. Voutilainen looking for a sweep. Not yet Voutilainen, not yet. and Voutilainen counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Voutilainen ducks under a wild hook from Bhu. Voutilainen takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Voutilainen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bhu moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Voutilainen throws a lazy head kick letting Bhu counter with a right hand.

Bhu scores with a one two! Voutilainen had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Voutilainen throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Bhu unloads a knee to the mid-section. Voutilainen lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Voutilainen managing to block the knees to the body from Bhu.

Bhu throws a sloppy head kick and Voutilainen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Voutilainen wants to control from the top but Bhu keeps moving. Voutilainen tries to free his leg and advance position but Bhu is retaining full guard. Voutilainen postures up and lands a big shot to Bhu's brow. Bhu keeping full guard, as Voutilainen tries to pass. Voutilainen postures up.
Bhu pushes Voutilainen off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Bhu takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bhu tries to clinch but fails miserably and Voutilainen counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Voutilainen. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bhu keeping moving, preventing Voutilainen from controlling successfully. Voutilainen wants to stand and escape but instead Bhu has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Bhu is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Bhu wants to stand but Voutilainen has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Voutilainen has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Bhu has passed into side control.
Bhu stands up and we're back to a striking position. Bhu tries to clinch but Voutilainen is having none of it. Bhu throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bhu throws the left hand but Voutilainen avoids the punch easily. Bhu throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Voutilainen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Voutilainen shoots in looking for a takedown. Bhu tries to sprawl out of it but Voutilainen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bhu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bhu Bhu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samu Voutilainen. Voutilainen blocks the body kick.

He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Voutilainen seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bhu has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Voutilainen tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad. Bhu sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bhu wants to control the pace but Voutilainen is squirming around nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Samu Voutilainen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Voutilainen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Law shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side. Jones tries to clinch but Law is having none of it. Law shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jones tries for a takedown but Law circles away easily and Law counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Jones is trying to maintain the position but Law is very close to passing his half guard. Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Jones keeping hold of Law's head, controlling as best he can. Jones gets full guard. Jones wants to stand up but Law is controlling him. Law knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Law tries to pass to full mount but Jones defends it. Law wants to stand but Jones has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Jones is looking to get back to full guard here but Law has managed to pass to side control instead. Law goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jones is on top in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Law wants to sweep but no luck. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clothesoff looks to score with a jab to the body but Zito is just out of range. Clothesoff gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Zito throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Clothesoff. Clothesoff connects with a body shot. Clothesoff misses with a right hand and Zito counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Clothesoff bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. A big left from Clothesoff misses. Clothesoff scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Clothesoff throws a leg kick and Zito counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Clothesoff throws a series of punches but Zito avoids them all with ease. Zito uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Clothesoff. Clothesoff misses the shot to the body. Clothesoff throws a body punch but Zito moves out of range. Clothesoff is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Zito. Clothesoff misses with a double jab
and Zito counters with a nice body shot. Clothesoff slow jab from Zito misses its intended target. Clothesoff throws a series of punches but Zito moves out of range. Zito lands with a right hand. Zito takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

and Clothesoff takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Zito scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Clothesoff swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Zito counters with a one-two to the body. Zito seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Clothesoff shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Zito is backing up but Clothesoff catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Zito covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Clothesoff Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Terrell Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Vasiliev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oleg Vasiliev struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 157.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Terrell Davis! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oleg Vasiliev! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vasiliev closes this distance looking for a takedown but Davis circles away. Davis looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Vasiliev! Davis wants to finish this one by submission but Vasiliev is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Davis. The referee warns Vasiliev that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Davis is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Vasiliev is surviving well by controlling Davis's body position as best he can. Davis scoring with strikes but Vasiliev is staying in there. Davis controlling the position easily from mount. Vasiliev can't escape the position.

Vasiliev looks gassed! Vasiliev is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Vasiliev is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Davis has taken his back.

Davis's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Davis is hanging on to Vasiliev's back as he tries to escape.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Vasiliev preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Davis. Davis not allowing Vasiliev to control his hands. Davis scores with punches to the body. Davis is punishing Vasiliev with strikes - can he finish him?! Davis is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Davis is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Vasiliev knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Vasiliev for a finish. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Vasiliev rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasiliev wants to get back to full guard. Davis controlling the pace. Davis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Davis is thwarting Vasiliev's attempts to control the position. Davis trying to mount his opponent but Vasiliev defends it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Davis uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Vasiliev. Davis swats away the attempt to clinch by Vasiliev. Davis gets the takedown into side control. Vasiliev is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Davis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Davis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Davis is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vasiliev knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Davis trying to control the action but Vasiliev is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vasiliev is letting Davis control him for a moment. Davis wants to control but Vasiliev is keeping him busy. Vasiliev tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Davis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Davis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Terrell Davis dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Vasiliev shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Davis counters with a lovely shot to the body. Davis has managed to clinch.
A short uppercut from Davis. Davis lands on the inside with an uppercut. Davis gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Davis landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Vasiliev is trying to control but can't.
Davis throwing shots but Vasiliev is blocking nicely. Vasiliev trying to hold on to Davis's head to control him but Davis postures up.
Vasiliev slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Vasiliev looking to hit a scissor sweep but Davis is one step ahead there. Vasiliev is breathing heavily. Davis content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Davis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Davis loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Davis slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Davis trying to control but Vasiliev is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis connects with a couple of short punches. Vasiliev can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Davis controls the pace. Vasiliev working for a triangle but Davis defends it easily.
Davis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Davis slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Terrell Davis just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Davis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Davis controlling the action here. Vasiliev moves into full guard.
Vasiliev had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Davis is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Vasiliev Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Davis's back instead. Davis looking very determined here, making life difficult for Vasiliev.
Davis turns into Vasiliev and is now in his guard.
Vasiliev can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Davis controls the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vasiliev keeping moving, preventing Davis from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vasiliev looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Vasiliev will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Davis is sitting in close to Vasiliev's body. Vasiliev has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Davis is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Davis is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Vasiliev.
