Undercard bout

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trainius Reckus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ensio Kinner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kinner has chosen Era: Enae Volare Mezzo as his entrance music. Ensio Kinner told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Trainius Reckus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reckus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kinner's waist but Kinner gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Reckus off to one side.

Reckus shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
A nice elbow there by Reckus.
Reckus trying to control but Kinner is having none of it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Reckus is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kinner has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Reckus tries to control but Kinner wriggling away.

Reckus is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kinner can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Reckus looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kinner has picked Reckus up and slammed him! Reckus can't keep hold of the triangle and Kinner manages to pass to side control!

Kinner tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kinner has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Reckus is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kinner's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kinner's back!
Will Reckus go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Reckus is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Kinner has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Reckus has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Kinner taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Reckus doesn't care though - he's delighted!

A combination from Granite does no damage.
Lock slips a jab and a cross from Granite.

Lock takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Granite throws a series of punches but Lock moves out of range.

Lock closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Granite to the mat! Granite manages to get full guard.

Granite has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lock is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Granite.

Lock feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
