The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machine scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

It looks like Markcus Sparkus has been cut.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Machine.
Sparkus looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Machine lands a nice looking body shot.
Machine lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
A nice leg kick lands there from Machine.

Machine scores with a takedown into Sparkus's guard.
Machine controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Machine drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sparkus manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Machine has Sparkus in his guard.

Machine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sparkus can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Machine has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Sparkus must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Machine kicks Sparkus off and gets to his feet.
Sparkus shoots and misses
and Machine counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Sparkus is lucky that one didn't land flush.

That has opened up Markcus Sparkus's cut even more.
Sparkus on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Machine. Machine obviously looking to wear him down.
Markcus Sparkus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machine moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Machine with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Machine lands with a kick to the ribs.

Machine will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Machine closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sparkus did well to prevent Machine getting side control.

Sparkus is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Machine uses his free foot to push down on Sparkus's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sparkus.

Machine has isolated one of Sparkus's arms. Sparkus looking to fight him off but Machine twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Hortons misses with a series of wild punches.
Hortons lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

It looks like Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin has been cut.
Hortons throws a series of punches but Rasputin moves out of range.
Hortons throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rasputin sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Rasputin closes the distance and clinches.
Hortons fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Hortons prevents a takedown attempt there.
Hortons has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rasputin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Hortons misses with a punch on the inside.
Hortons has Rasputin pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rasputin manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Rasputin lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Hortons backwards.

Hortons pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Tim Hortons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rasputin is defended easily by Hortons.

Hortons wants to stand and escape but Rasputin is having none of it.
Rasputin won't allow Hortons to sweep him here.

Rasputin stands and steps away. Hortons gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Rasputin lands a left and a right that send Hortons crashing to the mat, dazed. Rasputin thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Tim Hortons has been cut.
Hortons is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rasputin gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hortons.

Rasputin closes the distance looking for a takedown. Hortons stuffs it but Rasputin still has hold of him. Rasputin picks Hortons up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Rasputin slams Hortons to the floor and that's really hurt Hortons - he doesn't know where he is! Rasputin throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

THOMPSON will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Horrible takedown by THOMPSON or perhaps it was just good defense by Alexandrov which made him look bad.
THOMPSON shoots in looking for a takedown. Alexandrov tries to sprawl out of it but THOMPSON keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Alexandrov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Anton Alexandrov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of TONY THOMPSON.
Alexandrov connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between THOMPSON's hands.

Alexandrov drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Alexandrov seems to have locked his on tight now - THOMPSON screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Alexandrov, as he picks up the win!

Bohlin looks for a takedown but Figgjo sprawls well.
Bohlin shoots in for a takedown but Figgjo shows good takedown defense.
Nice takedown defense from Figgjo. No joy for Bohlin on that attempt.

Figgjo buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Figgjo leaves Bohlin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Figgjo tries to close the distance and clinch but Bohlin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Freddie Figgjo.

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Craig David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyoto Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think David might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Craig David - Rise and Fall. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Bloggs throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bull's waist but Bull gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bloggs off to one side.

Bull lands a left and a right that send Bloggs crashing to the mat, dazed. Bull thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Bloggs gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Bull gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Bloggs is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
