James keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
John misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
James looks to score with a jab to the body but John is just out of range.

Tate can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wickleby controls the pace.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tate misses with an uppercut. Wickleby saw that one coming.
Wickleby steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tate.
A big right from Tate misses.
Tate connects with a good right hand that stumbles Wickleby. Wickleby circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Tate throws an overhand right that lands on Wickleby's shoulder, as Wickleby tries to avoid the shot.
Wickleby comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Wickleby shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tate's guard.
Tate avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Wickleby pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tate is keeping the position for now.
Wickleby trying to control the position from guard on top but Tate is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's time! Tate's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Wickleby throws a body punch but Tate moves out of range.
Wickleby is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Tate rather than just go for the knockout.
Wickleby dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Wickleby cracks a nice hook into Tate's ribs.
Wickleby throws a looping overhand right but Tate ducks down to avoid it.
Wickleby tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tate was well out of range. Poor timing from Wickleby.
Wickleby misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tate.
Wickleby lands a jab to the head.
Tate walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Tate lands with an overhand left.
Wickleby throws a hook but Tate avoids it easily.
Wickleby throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tate sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Tate misses the jab.

Tate decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wickleby tries to get to full guard but Tate has control of the leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tate thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Wickleby to regain full guard.

Wickleby is looking to sinch up a triangle. Tate throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Wickleby's body to avoid the submission. Wickleby has instead reached around Tate's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Wickleby arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
