The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nguyen fails with the takedown.

Nguyen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Spare looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Nguyen trying to control the action but Spare is working from the bottom.

Nguyen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Spare is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Nguyen has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Nguyen is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Spare is surviving well by controlling Nguyen's body position as best he can.
Nguyen avoids the attempt from Spare to control.

Spare defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Nguyen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moraes wants to clinch up but Kim keeps it at a distance.
Moraes fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Kim as Moraes shoots in.
Moraes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kim's waist but Kim gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Moraes off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andre Moraes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Moraes misses with a body shot
and Kim counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Moraes shoots for a takedown but Kim saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Moraes has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Moraes there as he acknowledges the shot.
Moraes ducks under a wild hook from Kim.
Moraes on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

and Kim counters with a stiff right hand.

Moraes slips a jab and a cross from Kim.
Kim has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Kim cracks Moraes with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Nice shot lands for Kim.

and Kim counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Moraes thinking.
Moraes is breathing heavily.

Kim clobbers Moraes with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Kim connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Moraes takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Moraes ducks right into an uppercut from Kim.

Moraes is rocked!
Kim drops Moraes with a straight right hand, right on the button! Kim follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Mortimer Plumbtree seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Plumbtree tries to sprawl but Sims drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Sims has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Plumbtree defend it? Sims steps over the head and cranks it - Plumbtree is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Sims!

Richards lands a nice hook to Lightning's body. Lightning takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Richards stuns Lightning with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Richards cracks Lightning with a good jab.

Lightning moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Richards lands with an uppercut that bounces Lightning off the cage and back into rage.

Richards connects with a body shot that sends Lightning's belly button to the back.
Richards lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Richards throws a leg kick that misses.
Derek Richards is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Richards throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lightning on the side of the head.
Danga de danga de dang - Richards scores with a four punch combination!

Lightning is rocked!
Lightning drops his hands for a split second and Richards immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Lightning face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Richards follows up with a right hand that knocks Lightning into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
