Undercard bout

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drake Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rusty Nailes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyler comes to the cage accompanied by Livin On A Prayer. Nailes has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Rusty Nailes will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyler fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Nailes takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Tyler closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Nailes is trying to break the clinch but Tyler has him pressed against the cage.

Tyler manages to pull guard.
Tyler looking to control.

Tyler scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Nailes looks gassed!
Nailes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nailes leaves Tyler with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Tyler closes the distance and clinches.
Nailes tries to pull guard but Tyler won't allow it.

Tyler manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Tyler shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nailes is trying to escape the mount but Tyler keeps good control and instead manages to take Nailes's back.
Tyler lands with a hammerfist to the side of Nailes's head.
Tyler is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nailes takes a big shot to the side of the head.
Tyler has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Nailes's body.
Tyler will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Tyler is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Tyler gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Tyler gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Tyler apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Tyler fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nailes sprawls well initially but Tyler persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Tyler in particular looking to stall.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tyler is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nailes has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nailes!
