The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis misses with a jab to the body

and von Herrmann counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
von Herrmann throws a strike but Lewis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee warns Lewis that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

von Herrmann has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lewis's face.

Poor strikes thrown by von Herrmann there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Lewis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
von Herrmann lands a big shot there that rocks Lewis but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Boxer circles away from the clinch attempt
and Boxer connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Doe wants to clinch.
Doe feints and then cracks Boxer's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Boxer down.
Doe lets loose with a powerful body kick. Boxer will feel that in the morning.
John Doe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Boxer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Doe throws a leg kick but Boxer sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Doe feints a jab promting Boxer to slip. Doe then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Boxer slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Doe scores with a kick to the midsection.

Boxer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Doe lands a nice leg kick that just misses Boxer's sensitive parts.
Doe throws the kick towards the body but Boxer avoids it.
Doe scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Boxer misses with an uppercut.
Nice shot lands for Doe.
Doe fails with an attempt to clinch.
A nice inside leg kick there by Doe. That's going to slow Boxer down.
Doe scores with a kick to the midsection.
Doe throws a front kick aimed at Boxer's knee but Boxer avoids it well.
Boxer ducks under a wild hook from Doe.

Doe lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Boxer walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Doe is looking to slow Boxer down with leg kicks.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Doe moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Doe fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Boxer.
Boxer takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Doe closes the distance looking to clinch
and Boxer counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Doe misses with an uppercut. Boxer saw that one coming.
Doe fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Boxer is out of range.
Doe scores with a leg kick.
Doe tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Boxer is able to avoid easily.
Doe tries to close the distance and clinch up but Boxer swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Doe misses with a low kick.
Doe throws a leg kick
and Boxer counters with a big right hand! Oh Doe is in trouble here! Boxer follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
