Kaplan is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Smithsonian is keeping busy.
Smithsonian prevents Kaplan from breaking the clinch.

Smithsonian pulls Kaplan into guard.

Kaplan decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Smithsonian jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Smithsonian misses with a takedown attempt
and Kaplan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kaplan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smithsonian.
Smithsonian misses with a series of wild punches.
Smithsonian throws a hook to the side of Kaplan's head but Kaplan sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kaplan throws out a powerful jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Smithsonian shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kaplan as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johnny Smithsonian. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kaplan throws a pinpoint strike between Smithsonian's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Smithsonian crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Kaplan scores a great knockout victory!

Ward maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Ross could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Ward has cracked it and Ross is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Ward!
