The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Phony has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Phony and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Estente loses concentration momentarily and Phony pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Estente crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Phony finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinkie blocks a leg kick.
Pinkie connects with a body shot.
Pinkie throws a jab when Somali was well out of range.
Sakke Somali seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pinkie blocks the body kick.
Somali ducks under a wild hook from Pinkie.
Somali throws a body kick that misses.
Somali circles away from the clinch attempt.
Pinkie misses with a series of wild punches.
Pinkie sizes up Somali with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Pinkie drops Somali with a right and a left! Pinkie comes rushing in but Somali regains his composure and manages to keep Pinkie in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pinkie throws a shot from downtown. Somali moves away and avoids it.
Somali slips a straight right by Pinkie.
Pinkie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Somali tries to clinch but Pinkie moves out of range.
Somali tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Pinkie counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Somali throws a sloppy head kick and Pinkie moves out of range easily.
Somali tries to score with a low kick but Pinkie moves his leg out of the way.
Somali misses with an attempted mid kick.

A jab-cross combination lands for Pinkie and sends Somali crashing to the mat! Pinkie follows him down to the mat - Somali regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!
Oh Somali is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

It looks like Sakke Somali has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pinkie is nestled in close to Somali, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Somali tries to roll over but Pinkie keeps him under control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Pinkie gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Somali seems to have got his legs back now.
Somali tries to clinch but Pinkie moves out of range.
A jab lands there for Pinkie.
Pinkie tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pinkie cracks Somali with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Somali tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Pinkie pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Somali is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stinkie Pinkie! Stinkie Pinkie retains his welterweight title!
