Ladies and Gentlemen, another thrilling night awaits you, as New York’s fastest rising MMA organization Survival of the Fittest, and in association with our merchandise partners, Canadian Fighter Clothing, proudly presents, SOTF 16: On To The Next One, an event that will be held live from the Credit Card Center arena in New York, on Sunday the 28th of October 2012. This event will feature a bunch of exiting fights, including the main event between Ken Tentheros and Master Shuai jiao. Now let’s get our detailed fight per fight preview started:

Tyler Durdun v Frank Mir

What better way to kick things off than with a heavyweight scrap! Two fighters who share a promotional record of 2-1 will be battling to earn their third organizational win. 26 year old wonderful Muay Thai fighter and respectable wrestler Tyler Durdun made a great promotional debut at SOTF 2 when he defeated Jeff Kulen, before suffering from an upset defeat against Frank Marko at SOTF 6, but then he rebounded well by knocking Brock Lesnar out at SOTF 10 and earned himself the ‘’KO of the night’’ award. On the other hand, 24 year old superb wrestler and BJJ purple belt Frank Mir introduced himself to the SOTF crowd when he submitted James Rivera at SOTF 4 and he followed it by finishing Andouh Andouh in just 5 seconds at SOTF 8, before he suffered from his first promotional defeat at SOTF 12 at the hands of Brock Rua. While Durdun has the striking advantage, Mir will try to utilize his superior ground to dominate this fight.

Vincenzo Calliente v Roy Brown

In the welterweight division, two true veterans of the game will collide again. 34 year old wonderful boxer and BJJ brown belt Vicenczo Calliente has more SOTF wins than anyone, defeating his first four promotional opponents, before losing to the first time here in the organization against Chris Rudd at SOTF 13. But his first promotional win was back at SOTF’s first event and it was against the man he is set to meet again, 30 year old super wrestler and BJJ purple belt Roy Brown, who after losing his first two promotional fights, made a fresh start by winning the next two, submitting Zhang Zhu at SOTF 4 and earning a decision victory against Dominick Silvic at SOTF 8. So after earning the ‘’fight of the night’’ award in their first encounter, can these two veterans recapture the magic of their first fight?

Charlie Luciano v Tommy Fire

In the lightweight division, we have yet another rematch. 23 year old superb Italian boxer and BJJ purple belt Charlie Luciano is one of the most exciting prospects in the organization, and has already collected five ‘’of the night’’ awards in just five professional fights, including the ‘’fight of the night’’ and ‘’KO of the night’’ awards for his win over Billy Bunter at SOTF 2, as well as the ‘’fight of the night’’ award for his victory against Chris Adams at SOTF 14. But back at SOTF 7, Luciano suffered from his so far only career loss at the hands of 23 year old superb Jamaican wrestler Tommy Fire, a defeat that has hunted him ever since, and eventually the organization responded to his request, and gave him the opportunity to avenge that loss. Meanwhile, Fire will also be looking to redeem himself, since he dropped a decision loss in his last fight against Unigu Rege at SOTF 13, and another win over Luciano will surely give him back some confidence.

Hannibal King v Kiichi Miyazawa

Back to the welterweight division. 31 year old strong boxer and BJJ purple Hannibal King was still searching for his first career win when he signed with the organization, and he got it in his promotional debut when he submitted Robert Trutka at SOTF 3, and then followed it by three other submission victories, which were against John Freeman at SOTF 5 when he received the ‘’submission of the night’’ award, Giorgio Chiellini at SOTF 12 and Jerome Johnson at SOTF 13, and he is currently 4-0 here in the organization. Meanwhile, 24 year old proficient Japanese wrestler and BJJ brown belt Kiichi Miyazawa didn’t have that same luck in his debut, as he got submitted by Cassius Boran at SOTF 12, and is now hoping to redeem himself with a victory. While King won all of his professional fights via submissions, this time he will be facing a superior BJJ practitioner, which will make his way for his 5th win a lot more complicated than what it was in his first four fights.

 Sasha Petrova v Chris Rudd

Still in the welterweight division, 32 year old sensational Canadian boxer and exceptional wrestler Sasha Petrova had a rough debut here in the organization, getting defeated by Barry Allen at SOTF 13, but he is now set to make a fresh and prove to the SOTF crowd that he is one of the most greatly well-rounded fighters in the 170 division by earning what would be his 22nd career win. On the other hand, 33 year old sensational Australian boxer and BJJ brown belt Chris Rudd also had a similar debut to his opponent, when he ended up losing to Ce Ca at SOTF 7, but he already made the successful rebound by getting a first minute submission victory over Vincenzo Calliente. While Petrova is the more well-rounded fighter, he should be very careful while being in his opponent’s guard, as Rudd is the superior BJJ practitioner and could be gunning for his 10th submission victory.

Stan Rosberg v Rainer Zufall

In the light-heavyweight division, 24 year old superb Russian Muay Thai fighter and strong wrestler Stan Rosberg has already cemented his position as a big threat at 205 thanks to his three victories in the organization that came via first round (T)KOs, against Forest Griffin at SOTF 3 when he earned the ‘’KO of the night award’’, Micheal David at SOTF 5 and finally Jagger Raffinski at SOTF 9 when he also gained the ‘’KO of the night’’ award. But now Rosberg faces his toughest challenge yet, and that is taking on remarkable German wrestler and BJJ purple belt Rainer Zufall who will be making his promotional debut. Both men are knockout artists who earned most of their professional wins via (T)KOs, so expect this one to produce a contender for the ‘’KO of the night’’ award

 Howard Moon v Ippo Makunouchi

In the heavyweight division, two fighters will battle it out for five rounds in their respective third promotional appearances. 29 year old elite English boxer and exceptional wrestler Howard Moon had an impressive promotional debut, finishing Marby Arcade in the first round at SOTF 9, but then suffered from an upset defeat when he got submitted by Hezekiah Stoltfus at SOTF 13, and now he will hoping to get back on the winning track, possibly with his 13th career (T)KO. On the other side of the cage will be 33 year old wonderful Polish boxer and wrestler Ippo Makunouchi who proved to be one of the best fighters in the division, winning his debut at SOTF 8 against Hermanni Holopainen, before finishing Marby Arcade in the first round at SOTF 14, and is now looking to keep climbing the 265 ladder by defeating his toughest challenge yet. While the two fighters are almost even in terms of their ground abilities, Moon will have a significant advantage in the striking department which could set him as the favorite to win this one.

Logen Glotka v Hezekiah Stoltfus

Also in the heavyweight division, two former champions will collide in our co-main event. 34 year old elite Canadian Muay Thai fighter and sensational boxer and wrestler Logen Glotka will be making his SOTF debut after travelling around in his long hall of fame worthy career, winning the CFC heavyweight championship, as well as the Nexus championship in the same weight class. Glotka is one the best knockout artists in the world, getting 28 out of his 33 professional wins via (T)KOs. On the other hand, 30 year old elite boxer, sensational wrestler and BJJ black belt Hezekiah Stoltfus is the former CW LA heavyweight champion, and has already made a successful promotional debut, submitting Howard Moon at SOTF 14. While Glotka could have the advantage on his feet due to his superior Muay Thai as well as his reach advantage, in case this fight goes to the ground, Stoltfus could utilize his superior BJJ in order to get his 9th career submission victory.

Ken Tentheros v Master Shuai jiao

In our main event of the evening, two champions will battle it out for five rounds in a light-heavyweight bout. 24 year old sensational Malawian wrestler and BJJ black belt Ken Tentheros will be making his promotional debut, and he is best known for winning the BFT light-heavyweight championship, as well as being an incredible bonus hunter, earning 14 various ‘’of the night’’ bonuses in just 16 professional bouts. On the opposing corner of the cage will be 33 year old exceptional Chinese striker and superb wrestler Master Shuai Jiao who is the reigning SPNY light-heavyweight champion, while previously winning multiple belts, such as the light-heavyweight belts of TSP, SPFC, WFC and SPFT, as well as the SPFT heavyweight belt. The young fighter could be the favorite to win this super-fight thanks to the significant advantage he will have on the mat, but his legendary opponent possesses more than enough experience that could enable him to snatch yet another victory in his elusive career.
