Eli Ellinger

Fighter profile of Eli Ellinger by

Eli Ellinger was raised to be a fighter from the day of his birth.  Fighting was in his blood.  His father, Jordan was an ex-Marine who was discharged after being injured in a firefight.  He then worked as a wrestler on local circuits, and eventually as a WWF jobber and undercard fill in.  It was here that his true potential was discovered by a talent scout looking for fighters to join an up-and-coming MMA organization.  It was there that Jordan met his future wife, Alyssa, who was working part-time as a ring girl.  The couple fell in love, and soon after their marriage, Alyssa became pregnant.  Eli often lived with his grandparents in LA growing up, as his parents were often traveling.  However, when Eli was just 12 years old, his parents were killed when the driver of their bus ran off the side of a cliff, apparently drunk.  Eli was distraught, and struggled with his emotions long into his teenage years.  As one thing lead to another, Eli began struggling with alcohol abuse and drug addiction, and he dropped out of college midway through his junior year.  He worked odd jobs to pay his lease and buy his food, before finally finding a steady job as a bouncer at a popular LA night club.  However, his drug and alcohol abuse continued, and his boss recommended he attend rehab.  Eli checked into Jackie Chan’s Drug Rehabilitation Center and Kung Fu School for the Bad Ass.  While there, he battled his addiction problems and trained in mixed martial arts.  His determination and skill caught the attention of the man himself, Jackie Chan.  Chan recognized Eli’s potential and agreed to hook him up with a manager.  He had Eli call LA based promoter Jimmy Jason.  Jason had been an advisor on the 2010 remake of The Karate Kid, which Chan starred in.  Jason also recognized Ellinger’s potential and agreed to take a chance on the 25 year old’s potential.  After continuing with rehab/kung fu-ing, Eli was released on August 29th.  After waiting one month to prove to Jason that he could remain sober, Eli will begin to train in LA and fight QFCs as often as his body allowed.  Jason and Ellinger hope to improve his credibility, with the hope of landing a contract with GAMMA: Rookies, with a long term goal of getting his promoted to the big show.  Ellinger will make his debut later this week against Owen Vanderlinden.
