One Night with The Most Interesting Man in the World!

Fighter profile of The Dos Equis Guy by

A Blitzkrieg one-on-one

The Note by BrotherHec

After the epic Blitzkrieg bout, Blitz 131: Unholy Wrath, That was in Montreal Canada, i was able to sit down with The #2 contender for the 265lbs division and ask him a few questions. He invited me to a booth in a club right in the heart of the city where i sat down with him and watched as he enjoyed the company of women everywhere. After a while of him holding the Dos Equis bottle he looked up at me and smiled, I dont always drink but when i do i choose Dos Equis! Could the start of this interview be more perfect? No it couldnt. As the night was getting on and i was trading stories with him about life the women that were clinging on to him started to think i was someone important as well! It would later turn that this night was good for both of us.

After a few drinks and several songs we decided to actually begin the interview. Now if you dont actually know who The Dos Equis Guy is let me first say he really is the Most Interesting Man In The World. With a professional record of 18-4 with seventeen of his victories coming by way of knockout he certainly is one of the top dogs in Blitzkrieg. His knockout power is very scary laying out guys that you wouldnt expect to get knocked out. Knocking out Nigel York, the only guy who took Dos Equis to decision, he had solidified his position in knocking out every opponent he had claimed victory over. The 26 year old purple belt in BJJ never even bothers with his ground game because he is to busy knocking out opponents on the feet. Is he one to watch? Definitely! Is he one day going to be a champion at Blitzkrieg? I believe he has a real chance! So folks grab a bag of popcorn and sit down and enjoy my one on one experience with The Dos Equis Guy

You have recently come back to knockout two top guys in the Blitzkrieg 265lbs division. Its safe to say you are rapidly improving would you agree?

I think it's pretty hard to deny that fact. I'm coming off of a finish of a man in Nigel York, who was my lone win that was not ended before the judges scorecard. The Amazon fight was a bit of a wash as I deviated from my prior strategy of swinging until the man across from me dropped. Yet I proved once again that if you're willing to go into the clinch with me, you have to be willing to face the consequences of the most interesting dirty boxing in the world.

Ha the most interesting dirty boxing in the world! Epic right there just epic. Now you have been a part with Blitzkrieg since, Blitzkrieg 96 fire of the gods where you took on Arnold Gutt finishing him via TKO, how do you feel about the company as a whole?

Mr.Wonnut is man amongst men. Him and his staff have always treated me first class. They've constantly given me chances to move up the ladder and I feel that I've let them down with my losses. Blitz to me will always be considered the greatest organization in the world with some of the strongest divisions out there. With every success they have, all of us fighters benefit. There's nowhere to go but up.

I agree the way they treat me as their writer is simply unbelievable! So, Mr. Dos Equis, You currently train out of Riddum Elite, an unbelievable gym filled with top class fighters like Patrick Jane. Training with guys like that does it motivate you more?

There's no better place to train if you're looking to work your overall stand up game as well as developing an elite level defensive ground game. The gyms philosophy has always been about keeping the fight standing, getting up quickly if it gets to that point, and then bullying our opponents on the feet. We train to get into their faces immediately and punish them with shots from all angles. Along with the world class standup sparring and training we get with the top flight fighters and coaches, we all undergo brutal physical training so we're always in shape to go 5 hard rounds in a row. The mentality has, and will always be to never give up! No matter how few seconds are left on the clock, how bloody and bruised we may be, there's always a chance to end the fight!

You have been said to be the most interesting guy in the world and you certainly are proving that here today, what do yo feel are your advantages in the 265lbs division compared to the other fighters here at Blitzkrieg?

Intimidation. I once broke Mike Tyson down mentally in a stare down. I made Diego Sanchez say no. I successfully interrogated Batman. I made the hulk sit down and have a rational discussion. I left Chael Sonnen speechless. Even Nick Diaz wouldn't drop his hands down against me. I forced the two Klitchko brothers to fight each other. I'm a huge man, I move with the speed and agility of a 155, and I have power in both hands and feet. On the feet and in the clinch I still consider myself to be the most dangerous man in the division and I won't let any setbacks stop me from getting that strap around my waist.

I dont know if i should laugh or believe you. None the less to do what you have done is simply unbelievable and now you are currently ranked as the number 2 contender in the division. How do you feel about that? You certainly have come such a long way, but my question for you is this a good spot for you or is it just one of the last steps before you reach your throne?

I feel good, but I've been in this position before. This is my third, two fight win streak since joining Blitz in early 2012. I don't feel I'm any further along than I've been in the past, and just need to really step up my game to make the last push to title contention. I can taste the opportunity it's so close, and I'm ready to knock out any man in stands in my way.

Simon Williams, Jobe Nkemakolam, YOU, Yokida Matae, Aloha Hoi...These are the top five in the division. Now Simon Williams and Aloha Hoi will be fighting for the title tonight but if you had your choice out of the five who would it be?

Aloha Hoi, and it's a very easy decision. I watched him go on his nearly unbeatable run in late 2010/early 2011 and all I could think about is how great it'd be to get two big men, with great chins and incredible power inside the same octagon. I respect his manager Mannetosen greatly, and just want the opportunity to step in that cage with him, let our firsts fly and put on a helluva performance for the crowd. Win or lose I know we'd crack open a case of Dos Equis and drink away the pain that our fists caused when we bashed each other in the face!

If you received the call and had the oppurtunity to fight for the title against Simon Williams, how do you think you would fair after watching him defeat Aloha Hoi 50:44 tonight?

What can I say about the fight. Williams absolutely took it to Hoi. He dominated every single aspect of the fight, never let up, and very nearly finished him. It was a near perfect performance. I believe I could compete with Williams. I won't go so far as to say that I would dominate him. But I know how hard I train, I realize the level my skills are at, and I believe I could minimize any time on the ground, and take it to him on the feet. I believe strongly that I could finish him and I'd love to challenge myself against such an incredible fighter someday.

Is there any fighters that you have seen fight in Blitzkrieg or MMATYCOON that you just love to watch?

That'd easily have to be everyones favorite bounty hunter, Boba Fett. I've always been a fan of his incredibly well rounded game and his ability to beat anyone, on any given day in a plethora of ways. Whether its on the feet, in the clinch, or on the ground Boba is an elite level fighter and his record shows that. I'm just waiting for the day he pulls out his first submission victory. Now if only he'd be willing to bulk up to heavyweight. I'd gladly let him try to hunt me.

Dream opponent, could be anyone in MMATYCOON featherweight, manager, Mike Tycoon, or even yourself, who would you fight if you had the chance?

I would fight Homer Simpson. I would be the first one to knock him out.

Because Mike Tyson couldn't if i remember correctly. Final question what kind of beer do you really enjoy?

*smiles* No comment

~ ~ ~ Well folks there you have it. The One-on-One with The Dos Equis Guy. It certainly was a pleasure as he was very humble and extremely fun to be around. Time will only tell if he will have the chance to fight for the title. As of now he is just recovering and waiting for the call from Blitzkrieg Management. There is many possible roads he could take to get the next title. My belief is that if he sticks one more win on another opponent he will probably get a title shot. Who knows who it could be Jobe, Akida, Aloha or even Williams. All we can do is sit back and watch for another epic match! Fight fans i will let you go so may God continue to bless you and those you love! ~BrotherHec
