HFC Fight Night 3

Tuesday nights card features only four fights, but two of them are for the championship!

Billy Bryant vs Darren Lloyd

Our first undercard of the night features Billy Bryant (0-1) the coach himself, squaring off against Darren Lloyd (1-1).  These two light heavyweights have contrasting styles as Bryant is more of a striker with some wrestling while Lloyd is a BJJ brown belt.

Lloyd is 1-1, but his only fight int he HFC resulted in a win when he choked out Diego Costa with a nasty Guillotine.  He'll be looking to get this fight on the ground and do the same to Bryant.
Byrant, on the other hand, lost his first and only MMA match via referee stoppage to Van Barle at HFC 1.  He will be looking to score a victory here, by KO if possible, to establish himself in the HFC and show his loss is a fluke.

Prediction: Lloyd gets the fight to the ground and finds a way to lock in a sub, tapping out Bryant.

Mark Davis vs RJ Cain

Our second undercard features GCF stand-out RJ Cain (3-1) squaring off against Mark Davis (3-2).  Cain is riding high and full of confidence after winning his HFC debut against Colby Vovigton via some nasty GnP.
Davis is also full of confidence after beating rival John Kuhn twice in both Core Combat V and the rematch at HFC Fight Night 1.  This time, he's facing off against a more accomplished opponent but he believes he can take this fight.  All three of his fights have been won via unanimous decision, so he'll be looking to finish a fight this time around.

Prediction: RJ Cain wins via TKO

Jack Waller vs Barry Jameson

Our co-main event of the night pits Jack Waller (3-0) and undisputed bantamweight champion of the world against challanger Barry Jameson (2-1).

Jameson is an outstanding wrestler who likes to utilize the ground n pound to beat his opponents into submission.  He scored a nice TKO victory over De Oliveira at HFC Knock Out 1 and is hoping his momentom carries into this fight.

Jack Waller has been nothing short of spectacular.  Each opponent he has faced calaimed he was their toughest fight and that he hits like a mule.  He's got to be full of confidence having stand toe to toe with the best the HFC has had to offer and he's the one who's been standing in the end.  He won't take Jameson lightly, and has every intention of retaining his championship status.

Prediction: Jack Waller wins via KO

Sonny Gilchrist vs Rikuto Ryuuno

This title fight will seem  lop sided, and possibly it is.  Gilchrist is the reigning champion, and due to multiple fight declines, Ryuuno stepped in to tkae the fight on short notice.  Because of that Hardcore mentality, he will earn a shot at the title.

Gilchrist (4-0) is an excellent BJJ artis who has tapped out each of his opponents to date, his first three fights not even making it out of the first round.  He's displayed a tenacity on the ground and killer instinct unrivaled by anyone else in the featherweight division.

Ryuunosuke is an unknown, but also a wrestler and BJJ artist, so he'll have no problems with this fight going to the ground as he tests his skills against the best.

Prediction: The champ stays the champ and taps out Ryuunosuke in a grappling chess match on the ground.  This fight won't end in the first round though.
