GKNY #61 FIGHT PREVIEW

Event Date: 30.03.2016
Location: New York
Arena: Hard Knocks

Good evening sports fans!

The GAMMA KIDS flag is yet again dawning on the skyline of the busy New York City, lighting up the night with big bomb punches and masterful timing and skill sets.  We have a busy card with mostly heavier weight class clashes.  The bigger they are, the harder they hit.

We won’t waste any time, let’s get down to the action and let the violence begin.

UNDER CARD

#1 - Jack "The Player" Stone (277083) vs Solomon Wayne (269094) - 170 lbs

Prediction:  Both of these fighters don't have a record to brag about, but it will only take a win or two to turn things around - you can bet both camps know that fact well.  Wayne is coming off a win, he is skilled on the ground and has made many great fighters tap.  Solomon by submission.

#2 - Desert "Island" Joe (262219) vs Barbie "TomBoy" Bloonkers (267091) - 265+ lbs

Seriously dude.. Barbie?

Prediction:  Again average records on the lower card, both fighters need this badly to keep their GAMMA dreams alive - expect a brawl.  Both fighters are on losing streaks, but despite the horrible name Bloonkers has too much experience and should demolish him by T(KO).

#3 - Jesse "Gorilla" Gonzalez (263382) vs Peyton "Tbe" Manning (262158) - 205 lbs

Prediction:  A perfect test for both of these lower ranked fighters.  Both on downward momentum, Gorilla has never been submitted and has some devastating power in his hands, whereas Manning is a submission fighter, who will test Gorilla's defence very effectively.  Manning by submission.

#4 - Beeboy Batongbakal (262512) vs Raul "Assasint " Mendez (265959) - 185 lbs

Prediction:  Mendez is the favourite so look for the fans to get behind the action.  Raul is on a good streak and is building up to some better fights.  A 12-7 record behind him with a massive 11 submission victories, expect him to take this down quickly.  Mendez be submission.

#5 - Miguel Castillion (260061) vs Davey "Jnr" Gilly (263492) - 205 lbs

Prediction:  Two mid table maniacs, Spain vs England.  A very decent contest to headline the undercard. They both like to stand and bang, both have the power to knock out with one blow, and have both been knocked out before.  What more could fight fans ask for?  Two light heavyweights slogging each other’s teeth out.  Keep watch on Castillion, he actually doesn't have a bad ground game and has won by submission once before - if he takes this to the mat this will be a different fight.  Gilly by T(KO).

MAIN CARD

#1 - Kit "Phantom" Walker (RED) (268683) vs  Erland "Nuke" Eliasson (BLUE)(269145) - 205 lbs

Red Corner:  Kit Walker is a Boxer from Finland who carries a delicate glass jaw.  With a professional ticket of 6-7 and at 24, he needs to turn it all around now.  He has some decent power in his hands and has been preparing to knock his opponents face in.  The question remains of which punch will catch his chin and end the fight though, so the Phantom's days could be numbered.

Blue Corner:  Nuke!  That will be an easy word to tie in later.  Eliasson is 6 and 2, 22 and raining from Stockholm Sweden.  A Mauy Thai fighter with a good grappling game, heavy feet and powerful knuckles, this fight looks a sure lock in his favour, especially with his opponent’s fragile jaw.

Preview:  Despite Walker being the better boxer, Eliasson is better in all other areas and certainly has the power to knock out Kit at any time.  Eliasson to nuke Walker's skull via KO, early.

#2 - Cyrus "The" Great (269553) vs Mawzer VaraKolaudov (266335) - 265+ lbs

Red Corner:  Cyrus the Great, born in Iran and now training out of New York.  At 22 years old the huge 280 pounder has some heavy grenades in his fists and world class boxing skills.  Coming off a win at GKNY 53 by TKO he is high on energy and charged to continue his dominating efforts.

Blue Corner:  VaraKolaudov, good luck announcer.  7 and 2, fresh of a defeat at the hands of Fifth Fist.  He will be looking at revenge here.  He is not weak anywhere, and can beat his opponent standing or on the ground.  The locals in Azerbaijan will be buzzing with excitement as their man looks to turn things around and continue down the road to GAMMA glory and riches.

Preview:  VaraKolaudov is looking strong to take this fight.  Which sucks for the ring announcer because he will have to say his name, again.  VaraKolaudov.  He should take this to the ground, use his weight to control the fight and grind out the ground and pound for victory.  VaraKolaudov by convincing yet dull decision.

#3 - Menace Defoe (268296) vs Alexy Innokenti (260605) - 205 lbs

Red Corner:  Up next is the American dream, undefeated at 3 and 0.  He has shown devastating power and a mean streak not to be messed with.  Possibly one of the best boxers in the world, he has no glaring weaknesses, and will be extremely difficult to beat.

Blue Corner:  The raging Russian graces the card again.  Now on a three fight streak, very impressive momentum, if he keeps this up a shot at gold could await - Dundee is always looking for a challenge.  Now at 9-5-2, the Russian has very heavy hands that would cause problems for anybody, fans will love watching the highlight reel back on this fight over, and over.

Preview:  My pick for fight of the night.  Defoe likes to stand and smash, but, his only advantage over the big Russian is his ground skills.  Certainly a very handy game plan to avoid those big bombs.  I think Defoe is the next big thing in this division, and the "USA vs Russia" promo tag will certainly draw buzz.  The fans will rejoice in a deafening raw when Menace lays the Russian out cold in the first round.  KO Of the night contender.

Co-MAIN EVENT - "Mr Right" Jean Pierre Papin (259692) vs AJ "The Machine" McKenzie (261118) - 205 lbs

Red Corner:  Mr Right, direct from Paris.  His 24, a highly talented boxer with amazing potential to be a big thing in the future.  Undefeated win three impressive wins all by stoppage, with his last fight not that long ago at GKNY 55, where he won in style due to the blood bin. His jaw has yet to be truly tested, and if he faces a true submission expert he could find himself in trouble, at only 24 though he has time to improve and get better.

Blue Corner:  The Machine is back!  Fresh off a win, regaining his momentum and turning his targets straight toward the Champion provided he scores the win.  10-3, the Brit is out to reclaim another chance at gold, and his doing a great job.  Lightning fast hands, and a dangerous grapple, McKenzie is no joke and will be very ready for this battle come fight time.

Preview:  The Machine has this locked in, but the smell of upset is definitely a huge possibility.  These guys are very even, McKenzie the slightly better wrestler, but nothing that will matter too much.  The fans are firmly behind this fight, social media has been blowing up, with fans promising to be there by the hundred to support McKenzie's push.  I fear the arena will fill with boo's and shock, Papin has the potential to shock the GAMMA world and propel himself into the upper charts by taking this fight down.  He knows this, Papin by KO, round 2.

MAIN EVENT - Fifth Fist (266480) vs Lucas "Sheriff" Hood (259608) - 265+ lbs

Ladies and gentlemen, please take your seats and top up your beverages, it's time for the main event!!

The following contest is scheduled for three five minutes rounds, in the GAMMA Kids Super Heavyweight division!

Introducing first! Fighting, out of the red corner, he is a boxer from the USA with 9 wins and only one loss, standing 194cm tall, he is ready, he hungry, Fifth Fist!

His opponent, fighting, out of the blue Corner, the American, fighting out of Montreal, is undefeated with four wins.  He stands 190cm tall, he has natural power, and a score to settle, Lucas "Sheriff" Hood!

Red Corner:  The controversial Fifth Fist, being labelled in a previous interview as a fight ducker, he is headlining the card and will be out to prove a point.  Many expected him to have been given the shot at the vacant title, you can almost bet if he secures a win here GKNY will have no other choice but to offer him a deserved shot at the strap.  First, he needs to dispatch Hood.  Easier said than done, his opponent out skills him in every area except boxing, Fifth fist better keep distance from the pocket and go for points on strikes, because on paper I have him struggling in every other area.

Blue Corner:  The undefeated Banshee.  Four wins, all by vicious early TKO.  At 24 he has room to get better, but in this instance he has the goods to stop his opponent flat.  Hood could be out of his comfort level and could find himself panicked at some point in the contest, though, if he keeps his cool, remains calm and patient this fight is his for the taking.  A win here would be huge for Hood, which will be in his camps plans for sure.  Expect a feisty one, both have plenty to lose.

Preview:  A great scrap for the main event.  Fifth Fist is out to prove social media wrong, and we will certainly try for an interview if he scores a win here to get his side of the story.  Another upset is very possible here, good to see some very solid rising undefeated fighters in the GKNY ranks.  Hood is the better fighter on paper, and if he doesn't get caught stunned in the bright lights he can end this fight and push himself into contender status.  Hood Via early KO.

A great card, and some great fights possible from this event.  I expect social media to explode after this contest, with a number of very plausible upsets on the horizon.  As always, a big thanks to our sponsor, Underworld Clothing (Seriously.. Where is my free shirt…), and all of our promotional partners.

Until the next exciting contest, this is Runt, train hard, train safe and train always.
