Event Preview: Rambo v. White
DC Fighting
2015-12-26, Hilo, Micro Arena - Hilo
Author:Yamashita Craven

Hey there guys. I hope you're all excited for our second event, where Sambo Rambo and Freddy White will battle for the 170 division title. It's going to be a good night full of fights! Here are the fight previews for the evening. Good luck to all of the fighters fighting tomorrow!

Current Prediction Record: 5-5

#10 Renol Govan v. James Gattis

This fight looks to be a close one at first glance. Both fighters are of similar age and fighting experience, as well as skill. The most important thing here is that James looks well rested, while Renol only has half of his energy right now. I don't think Renol will be able to recover before tomorrow night. Couple this with a 6 cm, 1 year, 1 fight advantage for James - and it looks like James will clinch his second win at DCF.

Prediction: James Gattis wins by decision

#9 Elias Zheng v. Mike Johnson

This fight looks quite similar to the previous, with some slight differences. Once again, both Elias and Mike are very similar in skill (with a slight advantage for Elias, as he is 6 years older than Mike). To balance this out, Mike has a 4 cm height advantage, which will help him in the striking game. This is good, because it doesn't look like Elias is much of a ground fighter. Mike lost his last fight by submission - but that doesn't seem to be a concern for him in this fight. Mike also has one more professional fight than Elias, which could be a small advantage. However what it will really come down to tomorrow night, is which fighter can get their energy/moral the highest. Right now, Elias looks exhausted. There is no way he will be able to win if he doesn't get his energy up. However, Mike could use some help with his Moral. Maybe he should go shopping and buy some nice new clothes for tomorrows fight.

Prediction: Mike Johnson wins by KO in the second round

#8 Javier Tascon v. Lance Carter

Our third fight of the evening will showcase two young fighters, Javier and Lance. Both fighters are only 18 years old, and though there is a height advantage of 2 cm for Lance - it is not a large advantage. Still, Lance will likely come into the fight looking to strike at Javier, which means this 2 cm advantage will be very useful for his gameplan. That advantage is evened out by the 2 pro MMA fights that Javier has under his belt. Hopefully for Javier, he has gained some experience from his first two fights. Javier will probably be looking to take the fight into the clinch and beat Lance there, so if Lance can manage to keep his distance, this will probably lean his way, as he has much higher energy and moral than Javier. Even if the fighters do happen to clinch however, Lance is a little bit heavier than Javier, meaning it will be harder for Javier to control his opponent. This looks to be a good fight, but in the end Lance seems to have a leg up.

Prediction: Lance Carter wins by KO in the first round

#7 Dennis Coles v. Fonz Stephens

This heavyweight fight will be a tell us what is more important - quantity or quality. While Dennis is a well-rounded fighter, with skill in all areas of MMA fighting, Fonz specializes in Wrestling and BJJ. Obviously, the most important aspect of this fight will be whether or not Fonz can get Dennis to the ground. If he manages to take Dennis down, then Fonz has a large chance of ending the fight on the ground. However, Dennis is 1 cm shorter which means his limbs will be slightlyy shorter and that will make him harder to submit. Plus, Dennis is not completely useless on the ground. even at the age of 18 Dennis has achieved his BJJ blue belt (the same belt that Fonz holds at age 23) . I want to say Fonz will take this fight thanks to his 5 year age advantage - But I think the well rounded Dennis will be able to win this one.

Prediction: Dennis Coles wins by KO in the third round

#6/#5 - Jim,Fred,Destin,Alex

These fights will be rematches of last weeks fights between my own fighters. We did not have enough accpted offers to fill the card this week so my fighters filled the last two slots

#4 Wolfgang Teddington v. Wenutu Halai

I this fight, Wenutu looks to have every advantage. He is 2 years older, 2 cm taller, and has 3 fights under his belt, while Wolfgang has 0. Luckily for the integrity of the match, both fighters has absolutely 0 moral. It looks like Wolfgang will have to take this fight to the ground if he wants a chance to win. Neither fighter can box - but it looks like Wenutu is a scary man in the clinch. His Muay Thai and Wrestling are superb. Because every advantage looks to be in Wenutu's favor, he is the favorite to win this fight.

Prediction: Wenutu wins by KO in the first round

#3 Thomas Tankey v. Wildemeer Washington

In our 8th fight of the evening, Thomas will look to end his losing streak in spectacular fashion by taking down a seasoned Wildemeer. Both fighters have very similar skillsets, although Thomas has the superior Muay Thai, while Washington has better Wrestling. Wildemeer has most of the natural advantages in this fight - for example, he is 5 years older, 5 cm taller, and 4 pounds heavier than Thomas. Plus, he was 7 more pro MMA fights than Thomas does. On paper it looks like Washington should win this one easily - but I think otherwise. Because Thomas is 4 pounds lighter, he will be a little more nimble than Washington which will compliment "The Dank Engine's" Striking game, which is already superior to Washington's. Thomas also has a much higher Moral which will be a huge advantage for the young fighter. If Thomas gets some rest tonight, he will come into tomorrows fight in his prime, while Washington looks like he doesn't even want to fight anymore. This will be an interesting one, no matter what.

Prediction: Thomas wins by KO in the third round

#2 Tino Kalio v. Brandon Storm

In theory when this fight was sent out, both fighters had a chance to win this fight. However since then, Tino has trained and improved, while it looks as if Brandon has not improved much himself. Brandon also has 0 moral leading into the fight. Although he is 11 cm taller than Tino, it looks like Tino has too much skill and MMA experience for Brandon to beat with 0 moral. This is an easy pick

Prediction: Tino Wins by KO in round 1

#1 Sambo Rambo v. Freddy White       ~    Main Event!

Are you ready to Rumbleeee!? Welcome to our Main Event of the evening, Sambo Rambo vs. Freddy White! This is the fight we have all been waiting to see, and tomorrow night it will finally happen. The two best fighters at DCF will finally face each other in the cage, head to head, and we'll know once and for all who is the best fighter!  Freddy White has all the natural advantage. He is 11 cm taller and a natural born Striker. He has never actually submitted an opponent, however he has knocked 8 different men on their backs, out cold. Sambo is the opposite. While he has never KO's another man, he has submitted 4. That means, maybe Freddy's 11 cm height advantage will work against him on the ground. If Sambo can take freddy down, he has a good chance at winning - however if Freddy keeps his distance, there's a high chance that Sambo will be KO'd and that Freddy will become the DCF champion. At the end of the day, it looks like Freddy's height, age, and record advantage will be too much for Sambo to overcome. This will likely be the most entertaining fight of the evening - but I think we're all expecting Freddy to win.

Prediction: Freddy White wins by KO in the second round, and becomes the undisputed champion of DCF's toughest division!
