UPF-M 9: Jumping the Shark is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by Ultimate Pit Fighting – Montreal on July 20, 2013 at The Underground arena in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Before I do this write-up I want to give a special thanks to the ever faithful Ultimate Fighting Fuel who has provided monetary support to Ultimate Pit Fighting – Montreal and its' fighters.

I also want to give a shout out to Fury Nutrition Inc. owned by Thomas Noisewater. Fury Nutrition Inc. provides top quality (160q) energy supplements at reduced prices and they have the evidence to back up the quality of their product. Again that's Fury Nutrition Inc. of Montreal, a local name that you can count on.

And now that I'm done whoring myself out for corporate dollars, let's get on with the action!

[Preliminary Card]

-[Middleweight bout]: Sylvia Silva versus Liam Lancaster

-[Result]: After punishing Silva with brutal knees to the body in the first frame, Liam Lancaster put his punches and kicks to work in the second. With Silva on wobbling legs from a vicious combination, Lancaster put his back to the cage and unloaded with more knees to the face thus forcing the stoppage. Congratulations goes to Liam Lancaster who won his first professional fight here. Liam Lancaster def. Sylvia Silva via TKO (Strikes) at 0:40 of round 2.

-[Victory Speech]: Liam Lancaster thanked the now defunct Mafia Fightwear, the former sponsor of UPF.

-[Welterweight bout]: Ethan Ornatowski versus Urban Fox

-[Result]: Ornatowski instigated the clinch and immediately regretted it, it seemed. Ornatowski was firing with punches in the clinch but Urban Fox had the elbows and knees of a great clinch fighter. He cut Ethan's face up throughout the first frame and punished him during the second. Ornatowski came back strong in the final frame but it was too little, too late by that point. Urban Fox def. Ethan Ornatowski via Unanimous Decision. (29-28, 29-28, 29-28).

-[Victory Speech]: Urban Fox gave a shout out to his sponsor following his victory.

-[Middleweight bout]: James Van Der Sluijs versus Fairm Taite

-[Result]: Fairm Taite came out looking for the takedown hard and ate a generous serving of punches and kicks for his efforts. James Van Der Sluijs displayed excellent accuracy in landing every strike that he attempted while avoiding the takedown. James Van Der Sluijs def. Fairm Taite via KO (Punch) at 1:45 of round 1.

-[Heavyweight bout]: Vlad The Impaler versus Ben Breeze

-[Result]: Ben Breeze got the takedown early and went to work. He attempted to smash The Impaler into the canvas with ground n pound but Vlad was able to stall and force a standup. On the feet, it was Vlad's world as he went plinking on Breeze's face with accurate punches. In the end, he dropped Breeze with a right hand that put him out cold. Vlad The Impaler def. Ben Breeze via KO (Punch) at 0:56 of round 2.

-[Welterweight bout]: Sami Tarake versus Jesse Murdoch

-[Result]: With one takedown each, these fighters seemed to be at a stalemate until Sam Tarake promptly put a stop to that nonsense with a guillotine choke that put Murdoch to sleep. Sam Tarake def. Jesse Murdoch via Submission (Guillotine) at 4:45 of round 1.

-[Victory Speech]: Sami Tarake thanked the fans.

[Main Card]

-[Middleweight bout]: Steven Smith versus Jadyson Costa

-[Result]: Jadyson Costa got the takedown early and went to work, hunting for submissions from the dominant position. It appeared as though Steven Smith might be in trouble but he pulled off a beautiful escape and blasted Costa with punches in bunches. Steven Smith def. Jadyson Costa via TKO (Strikes) at 4:24 of round 1.

-[Victory Speech]: Undefeated Steven Smith played to the crowd which no doubt earned him some fans.

-[Heavyweight bout]: The Prophet Malzahar versus Jonathon Bond

-[Result]: Remember that scene in The Avengers where The Hulk uses Loki as a sledgehammer to smash holes into Tony Stark's dining room floor? The beating that Malzahar put on Bond was twice the length and three times the savagery. The Prophet Malzahar def. Jonathon Bond via KO (Punches) at 0:31 of round 1.

-[Victory Speech]: The Prophet Malzahar showed his appreciation towards the fans in attendance.

-[Middleweight bout]: George Greggers versus Narcizo Thomas

-[Result]: George Greggors easily won the first two rounds of this fight using his boxing to hold Narcizo off. Narcizo made a war of it, though. He constantly shot in for takedowns and once he got the fight to the ground he would tee off with ground n pound and submission attempts. After three rounds of action the judges scored this fight a draw (29-29, 29-28, 28-29).

-[Co-Main Event]-

-[Middleweight bout]: Thomas Hooke versus Ethan Blake

-[Result]: Thomas Hooke smacked the overmatch Ethan Blake around for the duration of this short fight. He cut Blake up and finally knocked him out in just over two minutes. Thomas Hooke def. Ethan Blake via KO (Punch) at 2:22 of round 1.

-[Victory Speech]: Thomas Hooke showed his appreciation to his fans following his win.

-[Main Event]-

-[Light-heavyweight bout]: Maxwell Price versus Greg Giraldo

-[Result]: Maxwell Price proved that he is more than just a ground n pound stylist. His boxing looked sharp as he traded blows with Giraldo. In the end, however, Price countered a missed punch with a takedown and put Greg Giraldo away with punches from mount. Maxwell Price def. Greg Giraldo via TKO (Strikes) at 2:49 of round 2.

-[Victory Speech]: Maxwell Price thanked the fans in attendance for their support.
