 BFT 184 Review

Welterweight - Renee "The Ragin' Cajun" Mondeux Unanimous Decisioned Chras "Wood Dog" Watsky

Renee Looked like a man on a mission, getting two takedowns in the first minute. At the distance, "The Ragin' Cajun" was more successful at landing his strikes. With another takedown before the round ended, Renee took the round. The second round had Mondeux fight his fight. He was able to get takedowns and land strikes, and at the distance he was fairly successful. The third had more of the same. It opened with a takedown from Mondeux. They got up and a head kick cut Mondeux! The shock of the blow got Watsky a takedown. After that, Mondeux got back to work and got two more takedowns before the round ended. It was a round night for Watsky.

Welterweight - Iqbal "Mamute" Al Mamood Unanimous Decisioned Gwyn "The Dragon" Jones

The first round went pretty well. Al Mamood was able to get two takedowns and land successfully at the distance and on the ground. Jones was able to get off 3 elbows, but that was it. The second round had Al Mamood take the fight to the ground, and was able to grind out through the round. The third round was more of the same. He was able to latch on and bring out his game plan. He looked good and walked away with a win. It was interesting that in his promotional return, he took the oppurtunity to call out the champ. Did he do enough tonight to get a shot at him? I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Co-Main - Light Heavyweight - Bob Saddi Unanimous Decisioned Haral "The Dominator" Dir

Tonight was Saddi's night. He got the clinch quickly and cut Dir open with a head shot. He was landing at will and just had his way. He was just sooo good in comparison. Elbows, knees, punches. They were landing. Hard. The second round saw more of the same. Saddi threw out a hook that cut Dir some more, and another one soon after rocked Dir! Dir was able to gather himself and make it to the end of the round. But he really needed to land something big. The thrid round just had Saddi getting his way. Another right hand in the clinch had Saddi's cut opened even more. What, did he hold razors walking into the ring, with all these punches cutting him open? Saddi kept on him until the end of the fight and walked away looking good. I can't say the same for Dir. That cut was nasty.

Main Event - Heavyweight - Former Champ Laguna Lunaris knocked out "Lapper" Kim Boshesh with a cut at 48 seconds in round 1.

The former champ did what he knows best: elbows. He was able to get the clinch and it took 11 elbows to end the fight. Four of them cut up Boshesh and that ended that. Alright, real talk time. He's won 8 in a row since he lost the title. He's had to fight through some difficult fights. He's looked damn impressive. I think he needs to get back in there with the champ. He earned it.
