Author:

Hello everyone im “Sunshine” Weston Markson along with Rudy “The Box”Knife and we are here to bring to you HMMA 57’s Preview, but before we do that Wilson Thieatcres has joined us to make a very special announcement. Wilson take it away brother.

Wilson: Hello everyone I hope we are all doing well, I don’t usually do a lot of talking but every now and then I have to address the peeps. I came today to make an announcement. Today HMMA added another Hero to its list of great Heroes that have graced the Heroic MMA cage. This is something that was promised a while back and the time is finally here the newest addition into the HMMA HoF is. Takeo Okamoto. Okamoto is one of those rare fighters who has shown amazing skills, interesting fights, and a capacity for winning against the toughest competition. Ill read you a list of credentials that have led Takeo to this honor.

Takeo is 11-0, with 5 of those wins being high profile fights in HMMA

He has never faced an easy opponent his first fight was for the championship and he has always faced the very best in #1 contenders. He has proven at this time to be the best LHW fighter in HMMA history.

Mr Okamoto won the first ever HMMA superfight to see who the best fighter in the org was at that point in time when the highest ranked fighters squared off to see who was the best fighter in the org.

Ladies and gentlemen I would like to thank this great fighter and his management team Dead Disney for the honor you have bestowed upon us in gracing HMMA with your presence and historic fights. I look forward to seeing more in the future. Now I know you like to collect shiny things so here is something you can add to your collection.

Congratulations "The Golden Saint" Takeo Okamoto on your induction and status as a Hero of Heroic Mixed Martial Arts.

Weston: I have been waiting for this for a while, Takeo is certainly one of the best fighters HMMA has seen, he definitely belongs in the group with the likes of Sparbot, Saunders, Machin, Robinson, Toast, and Manchu.

Rudy: Absolutely its been a long time coming and now Takeo can say he is one of 7 fighters in the HMMA HoF. I would love to down the road see all the champions face each other and see who comes out on top. I remember the fight between him and Lasi Kukko last year when they were the two highest ranked fighters in the org at that time, they fought in a superfight that was billed to see who the best in HMMA is. Since then some others have risen such as Saunders, and Toast, I think It would be great to put them all together and see who the best is maybe even once a year with the winner being fighter of the year! Maybe ill pitch this idea to Wilson.

Weston: Now back to business HMMA 57 is going to be a sweet card headlined by a Light heavyweight title fight between HoF Takeo Okamoto and number one contender Fedor Alexandrov. It also some of the best fighters in their division meeting inside the cage for bragging rights and status updates not the facebook kind but the ranking kind.

Rudy: Oh Weston now that we are back to business I can get back to insulting your boring lame ass. But as moronic as you are I must say you are correct about HMMA 57 its going to be really fun and these fights will clear some things up at the top of some divisions. There isn’t a fight on this card that I don’t really want to see the outcome of. Its going to be fun and dare I say ….Heroic.

MAIN EVENT

"The Golden Saint" Takeo Okamoto. (11-0) v Fedor "Sambist" Alexandrov (15-4) 205 lbs title

Weston: The main event of HMMA 57 is a Light heavyweight title fight between recent inductee into the HMMA HoF and champion “The Golden Saint” Takeo Okamoto and Fedor Alexandrov. This is the first time we have seen Okamoto in three months, after taking a vacation, in a undisclosed and private location Takeo returns to defend his title against the man who in his absence dominated the division. While Okamoto was gone a new arrival came to HMMA a man who could challenge the top of the division and immediately started doing to. Alexandrov beat two top contenders and was announced as the #1 contender, but with Okamoto on vacation it was decided they would allow Alexandrov to fight the HW champion in a fight for fun and bragging rights, and when the fight was over he would get this shot when the champ returned. Now the champ is back and its time to get it on and see who the best LHW is.

Rudy: Im so excited to see the champion back in action, and against a great fighter, these two guys have a huge fan base and im sure they will both want to make them happy by bringing their best in the cage Saturday night. Fedor makes no bones about his game, he is a ground fighter, and a finisher, he looks to get the fighter on the ground and pound them into unconsciousness or until they leave themselves open to a submission. He has never won a fight by decision so don’t expect him to try and ride out a decision victory here either. Okamoto has shown he is slick wherever the fight takes place but he usually looks to keep the fight standing and score a tKO. Okamoto is also a finisher out of his 11 fights only one of them have went to the judges scorecards. This fight is going to be a Fight of the year candidate I have a feeling the atmosphere surrounding this long awaited fight is amazing.

Prediction: Until Okamoto losses I wont pick against him. Okamoto by tKO.

CO-MAIN EVENT

Julian Casablancas v Geralt Of Ravia

Weston: The co-main event is another Light heavyweight fight between two of the top contenders in the division, in fact I have heard through the grapevine that most likely the most impressive winner of this fight and Sundays Hunter Hearst Hogan v Hatsu Matsu fight will bring about the next #1 contender. Casablancas has been on a mission to extract himself from all the other contenders and prove he is the best in the division. So far he has done well with three trips inside the HMMA cage and three wins. Ravia makes his fourth trip to the HMMA cage after going 2-1 in his first three trips. Ravia also is looking to get an opportunity at the title trying to get a nice run to the top could well start here for both of these men. This is a huge test with massive implications for both fighters.

Rudy: This WILL be a great fight, I expect both of these guys will come out and try and take the others head off. 18 out of the 21 wins combined between the two of them have been by finish and 16 of those by (t)KO Although both fighters are skilled on the ground I don’t think either of them will take the fight to the ground. IM expecting a brutal standup war that ends in one man falling to the ground unable to continue.

Prediction: whoever lands the first shot clean scores a (t)KO.

Mikael Samoth v Dick Niaz

Weston: This fight is the last on the main card, a heavyweight bout between debuting Mikael Samoth and HMMA standout Dick Niaz. Niaz welcomes the newcomer to the division and right into elite level competition. Niaz is 2-1 in HMMA with his only loss being against champion and HoFer French Toast. Niaz will attempt to continue to impress the HMMA brass with a win over Samoth. Samoth comes to HMMA after an impressive run winning 4 out of his last 5 fights. With a tough first fight in the division it will be interesting to see if he is able to jump right to the front of the packed heavyweight division.

Rudy: A lot of people have high hopes for Dick Niaz, this guy is very impressive and with his only loss in the division coming against the champion he has proven to be one of the best. Niaz is a very well rounded fighter with four wins by (t)KO and 4 by submission he is equally dangerous wherever the fight is. Samouth however does hold an advantage on the ground although small, With Niaz having a small advantage on the feet it will be exciting to see what both fighters gameplan will be going into this one.

Prediction: Samoth by dec

Also on the main card

Weston: Rudy the rest of the main card is full of great fighters and high stakes fights. We have two of the best 170lbs fighters In Glenn Benton and Klaus Andersen hooking up in a long awaited rematch, 9 months ago those two fought it out with Benton winning by (t)KO. Another great fight is a middleweight fight between Begbie Franco and HoFer Boing Sparbot. Franco has been really impressive since debuting in HMMA with two wins and title aspirations a fight against HoFer and former two time and long time champion sparbot is the prefect test to see if he can handle the high waters. For Sparbot a chance to get back on track after losing his title and then losing a #1 contenders bout. Also The first fight on the main card is Peter Comradi v Lyndon Jones in a heavyweight showdown between two guys sitting just outside the top ten looking to break in. Rudy what are your thoughts on these?

Rudy: My thoughts are that Klaus Andersen wants revenge against a very game Glenn Benton and I want to see that fight there seems to be some bad blood there. I am most looking forward to the Franco, Sparbot fight out of this entire card this is my sleeper pick for FOTN and FOTY, and as far as the Lyndon/comradi fight awesome fight Lyndon has resurrected his career as of late and it will be interesting to see if his success continues.

Glenn Benton v Klaus Andersen

Begbie Franco v Boing Sparbot

Peter Comradi v Lyndon Jones

PRELIMS

Chris Hansen v Rocco Stupka

Lee Machin v Rumina Sato

Ship Enter v Parker McQuail

Tommy Bukovsky v Henrik Kallio
