The Cloncurry Kid

Fighter profile of Adam Eater by

When you talk about Cloncurry in the North West Queensland, you don't automatically think of anything BIG that has ever come from there. The biggest thing to note, was the first ever flight of the Royal Australian Flying Doctors Service, took off from Cloncurry. However, Cloncurry is certainly being put on the map now, at least in the world of MMA, with 24 year old Wrestler Adam Eater hitting the scene in a big way.

He might have gotten some weird looks growing up, having a passion for the wrestling game in Outback Queensland, but that didn't stop him, and continual training, and putting his name out there, saw Canberra Cage Fighter (CCF) sign him, with only one fight in the QFC behind him. Brad Wilson owner of CCF stated matter of factly "What can I say, I watched the fight he had in the QFC, and knew then and there, he was something special, and I had to have him in my organization." That initial fight lasted an entire 34 seconds, with Eater taking his opposition down to the mat straight away, then working the ground and pound hard, to cut his opponent that bad, that the doctor was called in and stopped the fight.

Since signing with CCF, Eater has moved to Sydney, where he trains out of Kambah Kombat gym. He has been working on other aspects of his fighting, so he can finish what he starts, with his wrestling manoeuvres.

Since moving to Sydney, Eater has fought twice under the CCF banner. His first fight was at CCF's first ever event CCF #1, and

Canberra Cage Fighter
2012-06-17, Sydney, Paddy O'Malley's - Sydney
Author:

The second time Canberra Cage Fighter has had a full fight card, and what a beauty we have in line. We have gone back to Paddy O’Malley’s this Sunday, to ensure we can fit more of our fans into the venue. So with that said, let’s get onto the fights, and the predictions.

265+lbs – Saxon Hynes v Pablo Sol - Prediction: Hynes by Decision
Both of these fighters have changed divisions with the closing down of the 265lbs division, and while Saxon “TheSaxon” Hynes fought for the title in 265lbs division and lost, Pablo “The Saint” Sol was training hard, and now holds a Brown Belt in BJJ. Unfortunately for Sol, Hynes does hi

"Sparring Partner" Boxing Bjj [4 – 0) VS Timmy Soupra (3 – 0)
Wow folks, in the main event we have two awesome fighters. Both of these men are undefeated and each of them have 3 submission wins. But don't count them out on the feet because both of these guys can strike too. On paper Boxing Bjj is the better grappler but Timmy Soupra looks to be better standing. This should be an excellent main event that lives up to the hype as a crowd pleasing battle.

CanCage 3 Review

Canberra Cage Fighter
2012-06-12, Sydney, Micro Arena - Sydney
Attendance:353, Event Rating:62
Author:

Moving to the smaller venue was a great move, and there wasn’t too much spare room left. With 355 screaming CCF fans rocking up to the Micro Arena (400), it was just the right size venue. The 10 fights on the card didn’t disappoint the fans, and they walked away really revved up, and looking forward to CanCage 4 this weekend. The event rating sky rocketed from CCF #2 (28.91) to an incredible 62.49, which certain showed we are headed in the right direction. So on with the review of the fights

145lbs - Dun Fighten v Tyrone Doherty (Title) - Prediction: Doherty by Submission

With the title on the line, both these featherweights were leaving nothing in the tank. Fighten comes out strong in the first round, however once he started to tire at the end of the round, Doherty started to get the upper hand. Doherty was throwing a lot, but not connecting with many, whereas Fighten was more controlled with how many he threw, but the majority connected. In the second round Doherty dominated for all bar 30 seconds of the round, where Fighter had him against the cage in a Clinch. The third round was more of the same from Doherty, and it wasn’t too hard to work out who the Judges were going to award the title to. Doherty be Unanimous Decision. Predictions 1/1

135lbs - Mike Valentine v Warrock Warner - Prediction: Valentine by KO

Next up were the small dynamo fighters, and we were looking forward to an action packed bout. Just as the bell sounded to start the bout, Valentine’s manager let out a secret. That was that the fighter was still injured from his previous fight. Unfortunately, it showed in the bout, with Warner dominating the fight, and first attempting a side armbar, before bailing out

Here's the full review for the last event under the Sin City Vale Tudo banner. SCVT is now a proud branch of Warriors of Torment, and now operates under the flag of Torment MMA - Las Vegas. SCVT 4 hosted the semi-final rounds of the lightweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight GP's, along with a semi-final match of the weltwerweight tournament. Here's a closer look at SCVT 4:

Knockout of the Night:  Bones Jones (Punch)
Submission of the Night:  Alexis Hendriks (Armbar)

 MAIN EVENT
Weight class: Lightweight (155 lbs.)

“The Spirit Detective” Yusuke Urameshi (4-0-0) vs  Bones Jones (1-0-0)

What’s at stake?: A spot in the Lightweight GP final.

Round 1: Urameshi started out aggressive, landing a couple of jabs, a leg kick and a solid punch to Jones’ midsection. Bones tried to take him down but he avoided it easily, keeping the fight upright. There’s a brief exchange but none of the fighters connects with anything. Jones starts to find his tempo, and lands a couple of shots, a particularly good c

Fighter profile of Aquila Serafino by

Getting to know "Hands Of Stone" Aquila Serafino (145173)

Hello everyone its that time again, its time for us to get to know one of HMMA’s fighters.   I had the opportunity to talk to Aquila Serafino, so lets see what he is about.

Wilson: Aquila, you have pro boxing experience tell us a little about your background in boxing.

Aquila:  You said it, I am a former pro boxer,  I was undefeated,  the few opponents who actually made it out of the first round, got knocked out in the 2nd, I knocked out everyone I faced in boxing.

Wilson: Wow, that’s impressive if you were so successful in boxing then why did you switch to MMA?

Aquila:  I got into MMA because boxing became boring, no one could challenge me, and I wanted more options to hurt my opponents.

Wilson:  You want to hurt your opponent?  I guess there is a reason you have developed a special relationship with the fans…..by that I mean your not very well liked by the fans, whats going on with that?

Aquila:  AHHAHA, the fans I don’t care about them, they hate me because I don’t like to play with my opponents by NOT knocking them out, I like to inflict as much damage as possible I want to bloody them up and hurt them, but keep them awake so I can beat them over and over.  I also have a bad rep because I took money to lose a fight, the fight was a decision I took money to throw the fight and people don’t like that it makes me a “bad guy”.

Wilson: I like your honesty at least you are truthful even if you have taken a reputation hit as a result,  so what kind of training are you doing for the upcoming fight with, Jarick Metta World Peace (175806) any thoughts about the matchup?

Aquila: I feel no threat whatsoever by Jarick, I have been training in all areas of my game.

Wilson:  Win, lose, or draw, who do you want to face next?

Aquila:  I don’t care, I just want to fight as much as I can before I retire…..and its not win, lose or draw, its win by KO.   That’s what im going to do Jarick, and anyone in the division who fights me, they will all be knocked out.

Wilson: Well thank you Aquila that’s all for today, It was nice chatting with you, good luck in your next fight, and in training.  We will see you in the cage Sunday, June 17th.

CCF 59: Spanked vs. Monteiro! PREVIEW

Event Preview: CCF 59: Spanked vs. Monteiro!
Cornell Cage Fighting
2012-06-17, Los Angeles, Hyashi's Lounge - Los Angeles
Author:K Rad

Ladies and gentlemen I am K-Rad and I am very pleased to be bringing to you a very special event.  No, not just the fact that I am actually writing something for all you ducklings once more, but it is part of it!  Tonight we see the true and ultimate showdown between the top two fighters of our 185lbs Creation Tournament.  Spanked and Monteiro, along with Adams, were the top 3 fighters out of this excellent and enjoyable tournament and as such entered a round-robin pool in which the fighter with the most points took all.  As it turned out, Spanked beat the formerly unstoppable Monteiro, something Spanked's manager Ruphus Duphus said was the result of careful planning and training in which Spanked would peak late in the tournament.  A risky tactic as the chance was always there that he would be knocked out of the tournament early but it paid off well, his victory bringing retribution to an early tournament loss against Monteiro himself.  With the scores 1-all and Spanked taking the top prize money, tonight's co-main event is all about the two men hitting the cage to make it best out of 3 and see who scores the ultimate pride and bragging rights!I'd put them in the main event but it screws with the damn attendance and event rating, sorry boys!  If that isn't enough for you, we also have the welterweight title being contested as Kincade looks to defend the belt once more and the hugely hyped and in form Saratuwari looks to score the blingbling and revenge himself for a previous title shot loss.  With so much action to follow, let's take a look at the top 5 fights of the night:

The preview is a little late this week due to some late night computer problems but better late than never as its time for another edition of Inside Ascension with your host, yours truly, Alexi Zaitev. Tonight we have two huge heavyweight fights as the heavyweight champion of Vicious Fights in Helsinki Oleg Karev visits LA to take on Victor Creed who is coming off a huge win over Merrimac Mjolnir, who coincidentally is in our co main event of the evening. Sebastian Bantrell is his opponent for our other titanic clash of heavyweights on tonight's card. Without me rambling any more, its time for the fights!

Opening Main Card Fight
Pat vs Foreman
We open the main card with a big time fight in our openweight division with the ex heavyweight boxer Foreman takes on  true mixed martial artist in Pat. Foreman holds a huge experience edge with his 18 career fights to Pat's 2. However, Pat holds a edge in almost every primary. With his exceptional boxing and muay
