GAMMA#886 Falcone v Newton REVIEW By Alika Webb

Super heavyweight - Joe Clark Vs Gorgon Zola

Joe "Shotgun" Clark was on a four fight winning streak and wanted to keep the good times rolling. Gorgon Zola on the other hand had just been knocked out two times in a row and desperately needed a victory to keep his head afloat in the shark-infested waters of the super heavyweight division.

Joe "Shotgun" Clark came out guns blazing. If you’ve got dynamite punches, you better throw ‘em and he did and then some. He knocked down and sliced open Gorgon Zola in the very first minute of the fight. Joe Clark saw an opportunity to keep the fight on the ground. But Gorgon Zola defended wisely and when both fighters get stood up by the referee, he popped right back up like he was in a Monty Python movie and that nasty cut over his brow was nothing but a flesh wound. Gorgon Zola fought like an Aztec warrior, showing massive heart defending himself after getting knocked down time and time again. But Joe Clark fought like an Aztec priest, mercilessly ripping Gorgon Zola’s bloody still-beating heart of his chest.

Winner: Joe Clark by KO (Punches)

Super heavyweight - Leonardo Da Vincible Vs Jason Steele

Leonardo Da Vincible was riding a three fight losing streak and was preparing himself for a war. He was either going to walk out of the cage with his hand raised or he wasn’t going to walk out of there at all. Jason Steele however wasn’t feeling much pressure at all, having just defeated submission wizard Carlos "Pitbull" Ruas in his last fight.

Jason Steele did what Jason Steele does best, he closed the distance. When the fight went to the clinch, Jason Steele dominated. A violent display of Muay Thai clinching warfare, slicing open Leonardo Da Vincible and Leonardo’s head burst open like a ripe tomato. But Leonardo Da Vincible kept his cool and like a sniper, struck from out of nowhere, slowly but steadily shooting down Jason Steele’s defensive walls until there was not a brick left standing.

Winner: Leonardo Da Vincible by TKO (Strikes)

Middleweight - Travis Mitchell VS Jarred Reich

Travis Mitchell may have lost to Anthony "The Law" Falcone on his quest for the gold but he rebounded by making a statement against Kaz McStafferson. Travis Mitchell knew another win was necessary to bring him back in the race as a title contender so he made sure to bring his A game. Jarred Reich had a disagreement with his management and is now proud to have Alexander Biro in his corner. The stakes were high for him to show what he brings to the table as he hoped to impress his new manager.

Jarred Reich did everything in his power to get the fight to the ground. It’s unfortunate for him that every time it did, Travis Mitchell started beating him to a pulp. Still, that didn’t keep Jarred Reich from dragging the fight back to the ground again as soon as they got back to their feet. You know, one definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

Winner: Travis Mitchell by unanimous decision

Light heavyweight title - Damagon Enchrya (c) Vs Robert MacArthur Jnr

Damagon was defending not only his title but also his honor in this fourth fight against "Scottish" Robert MacArthur Jnr. The score was 0-2-1 in favor of the challenger so for once, the odds were stacked against the champion and while the challenger had everything to gain, the challenger had everything to lose in what seems to be the end of an epic rivalry.

These two goliaths threw leather like there was no tomorrow, putting the pedal to the metal and throwing bombs until the cage started looking like a freaking warzone. The champion dominated as soon as the fight started but the challenger was never far behind. The challenger came in with a mission and by the start of the fifth and final round, the crowd finally figured it out. The challenger was never planning to walk out of there with a decision victory. He wanted to walk out of there with the champion’s sliced off head dripping blood all over these blood-thirsty fans.

Winner: Robert MacArthur Jnr by KO (Head Kick)

Middleweight title - Anthony Falcone (c) Vs Bill Newton

Another conclusion to an epic rivalry as the dust starts to settle from the storm that ran rampant in the middleweight division since former champion Thomas Bolleke decided to move on to another weight class. 2-1-1 was the score in favor of champion Anthony Falcone. Since Falcone ended Newton’s night in the very first round last time, the fans were expecting him to bring the fireworks once again and send the crowd home happy. Bill Newton however only wanted to make himself happy. He wanted to bring back the belt that belonged to him. It used to be a reality, the golden belt wrapped around his waist every time he looked in the mirror. Now it was nothing but a faded memory. There was nothing Bill Newton wouldn’t do to make that memory a reality once more.

Bill Newton wasted no time at all, looking to close the distance as the ground is where his home is. Bill Newton threw everything but the kitchen sink. Anthony "The Law" Falcone however knew exactly what to expect and had an answer for everything Bill Newton threw at him. Bill Newton gave the fans a spirited effort and had them on the edge of their seats the entire time but in the end, Anthony Falcone was the one that got them jumping out of their seats as he knocked the challenger out with a stiff perfectly timed jab.

Winner: Anthony Falcone by KO (Punch)
