Alpha-1 Promotions:  A New Beginning

Author: Jimmy Normal

Sometimes success needs interruption to regain focus and shake off complacency. - Lennox Lewis

It seems that one of the best Boxers of our time and famous MMA Tycoon, Kishion Mathew (of SMASH FC fame), have something in common; neither man is content to rest at the height of their success.  Mathew, a clever promoter and successful businessman, works tirelessly behind the scenes to bring MMA to the next level for fighters and fans alike, and now we bear witness to the revelation of his latest brainchild in Alpha-1 Promotions.

The inaugural event for Alpha-1 is nothing short of incredible and marks the Promotions first foray into LA Memorial Colossuseum; an arena that holds almost 100,000 seats.  The prelims are stacked with fighters who would normally occupy a main card and the top 4 bouts showcase an all-star selection of MMA’s finest.  Here’s my look at the Main & Co-Main events that will take the world by storm on April 17, 2021.

170lb CHAMPIONSHIP MAIN EVENT:  Humors Lacplesis vs Max Chaos

Humors Lacplesis is defending his crown for the first time after defeating former SMASH FC Champion Schwartz Gomez in March.  Lacplesis needed just 2 rounds to finish the seasoned Gomez with strikes and completely dominated the fight from start to finish.  Lacplesis has 2 hands and 2 options for his opponent - lightning or thunder.

Max Chaos is no stranger to the cage either, having fought all over the world and most recently with Synchronicity, this will be his first fight with the new Promotion.  Chaos is equally dangerous both standing and on the ground, with 7 t(KO) and 8 submission wins to his credit. The “Captain” has an unwavering chin and the street smarts to take on anyone.

Jimmy’s Prediction:  Lacplesis by Unanimous Decision

185lb CHAMPIONSHIP CO-MAIN EVENT:  Yes Man Sanchez vs Ibrahim Camara

Yes Man Sanchez took his belt from defending Champion, Harry Winston, back in February of this year and has 1 defense under his belt with a win over Michael Colucci a month later.  Sanchez has a gas tank that just won’t quit and the ability to also end the fight on a moment’s notice.

What can you say about Ibrahim Camara?  Nothing if you value your teeth.  Camara has slept opponents in 21 of his 34 wins.  Interestingly enough, Camara has already met Sanchez twice now, fighting to a draw in their first match up and securing the win in the rematch.  Both bouts were title fights and the 3rd is no different.

Jimmy’s Prediction:  Camara by Stoppage

As mentioned there are so many good fights to watch on the night.  Here are a couple I’d suggest you keep your eye on:

135lb CONTEST:  Mikey Day vs Usko Matonen

These 2 find themselves on the prelims, but don’t let that fool you.  This one is going to be a banger and could very well end up on the ground as both men are talented grapplers.

155lb CONTEST:  Kree P Krawlee vs Lazuran Riku

This will be a real test for Krawlee who is going up against a much more experienced fighter in Riku.  Still this is a style match up for the most part and could go either way.

Fuck yeah !

Ibrahim Camara and his best buddy in the whole Tycoon Universe LEGEND Humors Lacplesis headlining another page in the history of the game :)

I learned a lot from Humors, he would rarely give slider advise but he gave me a private gym at no cost when mine was full and man could he troll.

I still remember watching him win the Grand Prix while trolling absolutely everybody, he even got one of his worst e-enemies to coach him throughout the entire 6 months pretending to be a new player:

https://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=969526

Then at the end he pissed off Albert because he absolutely wanted him to write about his fighter Amanda Nunes but by then the gig was up.

I made this character (Humors Lacplesis) in his honor lol I even followed the lore from his famous thread "Attacked" where he shows footage of 4 "mugs" attacking him outside his favorite bar in Riga, Latvia lol , I just had to do 4 QFC's and voila ! 4 mugs get crushed !

After Humors started posting pictures of him with his best buddy this black dude I kept joking that he identified as a black male so changed his avatar to this black dude lolol since then he has been knocking fools unconscious left right and center and Max Chaos and Camp Burns will be no different :)

REVIEW

Alpha-1 Promotions:  A New Beginning

Author: Jimmy Normal

Alpha-1:  A New Beginning, the inaugural event for the new promotion is now in the books and by many metrics was a resounding success!  PPV viewers were greeted by a boisterous crowd of over 87,000 screaming fans.  I caught up with Kishion Mathew cageside as he signed an exposed titty for one adoring fan, and when asked for comment, he just flashed a smile and signalled that this was not the time; he was here to have fun, just like everyone else.  Let’s get into the action!

PRELIMS - 135lb CONTEST:  Mikey Day vs Usko Matonen

I had my eye on this one and suggested you make time to check it out.  I admire both fighters, but something about Mikey Day just does it for me.  He’s not necessarily a flashy guy and fans haven’t gravitated towards him, but you simply cannot deny the man is a force.  He’s always working, doesn’t take a night off and has really turned himself around since switching to manager Kevin Connolly.   Tonight he managed to avenge a loss to foe Usko Matonen, who didn’t appear to bring his A-Game for the fans.  Day handled this one from the opening bell and took home a well earned unanimous decision win in the process.

PRELIMS - 155lb CONTEST:  Kree P Krawlee vs Lazuran Riku

Another fighter I’ve been following is Kree P Krawlee.  Krawlee has improved his consistency since he underwent a change in management and started fighting under the stewardship of Slobo Dragovic. As mentioned in my preview of the card however, Krawlee faced off against a formidable and much more experienced opponent.  Lazuran Riku put the world on notice that he is no stepping stone tonight and came out guns blazing, countering and landing with bad intention.  In the end, Krawlee’s chin couldn’t stand up to Riku’s power and the 43 year old journeyman bounced out of the arena with another t(KO) victory.

CO-MAIN EVENT 185lb CHAMPIONSHIP:  Yes Man Sanchez vs Ibrahim Camara

We’re onto the Co-Main Event now, featuring a trilogy fight between Sanchez and Camara for the Middleweight Title.  The fighters enter this one with something to prove to the fans and themselves.  While both men remained active throughout, it was Camara with the tireless pressure in this one.  He forced action from the opening bell, moving forward, throwing and clinching if his shots weren’t landing.  Sanchez played a smart game landing counters and performing well in the clinch.  The cut man paid a visit to each corner in this one and it was a thoroughly entertaining fight for the fans.  Camara gets his hand raised for a convincing unanimous decision win and puts this rivalry to rest for now.  AAAANND NEW MIDDLEWEIGHT ALPHA-1 CHAMPION...IBRAHIM CAMARA!

WINNER:  Ibrahim Camara (UD)

Jimmy’s Prediction:  Camara by Stoppage (0-1)

MAIN EVENT - 170lb CHAMPIONSHIP:  Humors Lacplesis vs Max Chaos

Humors Lacplesis put his 170lb strap on the line against game challenger Max Chaos.  Chaos came into this one willing to leave everything in the cage, throwing hands, kicks and taking the fight to the ground.  Lacplesis has seen it all though and was prepared for anything and everything.  Humors Lacplesis remained focused and patient, weathering a 1st round storm from Chaos, methodically chipping away at his opponent through the middle rounds and keeping his cool in the 5th to offer a lesson in resilience.  I don’t believe we’ve seen the last of Max Chaos however.  AAAANND STILL WELTERWEIGHT ALPHA-1 CHAMPION...HUMORS LACPLESIS!

WINNER:  Humors Lacplesis (UD)

Jimmy’s Prediction:  Lacplesis by Unanimous Decision (1-1)

FOTN:  Yes Man Sanchez vs Ibrahim Camara

KOTN:  Lazuran Riku

SOTN:  Mono Loco

Alpha-1 Promotions:  Unbreakable

Author: Jimmy Normal

Alpha-1 is heading back to the LA Memorial Colossuseum on Saturday, April 24th to bring its second offering, Unbreakable!  The promotion continues to pick up steam since scrapping the SMASH FC moniker and is dropping yet another fantastic card on the fans, hoping to repeat the success it had with A New Beginning. Under my new format, we’ll be taking a look at the Main and Co-Main events and I’ll share a couple scraps from the undercard that I wouldn’t miss for a bathroom break.  Let’s jump right in and see what all the fuss is about!

PRELIMS - 265lb CONTEST:  Cedric De Boise vs Fernand Duif

https://mmatycoon.com/scoutfight.php?fida=352126&fidb=330281

Alpha-1 recently consolidated it’s HW and SHW divisions to Heavyweight and this shook up the rankings a bit.  De Boise and Duif got the short end of the stick here, as they have both been removed from the top 10 only because of the concentrated level of talent.  This doesn’t take anything away from either fighter though because they are both beastly menaces anyway you look at it.  It will be interesting to see which man truly wants his name in the spotlight with a win here.

PRELIMS - 135lb CONTEST:  Lewis Burwell Puller vs Tom Thomas

https://mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=1041201

This is a tasty little (pardon the pun) scrap.  Alpha-1 has a stacked Bantamweight division and here we have Puller (ranked 8th) squaring off with Thomas (ranked 5th) to see who will be fighting in the top grouping and who will be fighting in the bottom grouping.  Pick your poison here as this will be like deciding who swims with the sharks and who swims with the piranhas.

185lb CHAMPIONSHIP CO-MAIN EVENT:  Jack Lynn vs Yusuke Urameshi

https://mmatycoon.com/scoutfight.php?fida=298434&fidb=324085

Jack Lynn.  He’s had 26 fights and won 19 of them...by t(KO) or Submission.  It’s like he’s allergic to decisions because the only ones on his record are 3 losses.  Cue Yusuke Urameshi.  The man is a bloody decision machine with 18 of his 27 victories were handed down by the judges (pssst...he has 9 t(KO)’s too), but has never been knocked out.  He has succumbed to 3 chokes though.  Who is going to put in the work here?

Jimmy’s Prediction:  Lynn by Submission

185lb CONTEST MAIN EVENT:  Jarna Kuiva vs Michel Colucci

https://mmatycoon.com/scoutfight.php?fida=362845&fidb=322576

Another couple of talented fighters looking to push up on the top 5 in the rankings.  Kuiva has made a strong case for himself by finishing his last 3 opponents in devastating fashion, stopping his most recent fights with strikes in one form or another.  Colucci on the other hand has had mixed success lately going 1 for 3 with losses to Harry Winston and Yes Man Sanchez (the former Champion).  It is worth noting that he had finished Winston in their first fight and also holds a win over current Champion, Ibrahim Camara.  Not a man to be trifled with.

Jimmy’s Prediction:  Colucci by Submission

Alpha-1 Promotions:  Unbreakable

Author: Jimmy Normal

Alpha-1 fighters showed up in Los Angeles on Saturday to prove who is Unbreakable! It turns out that not everybody is as we saw 6 finishes on this card.  89,274 fans packed the Memorial Colossuseum and were brought to a frenzy and were treated to a wild night of fights!  Let’s get to the action!

PRELIMS - 265lb CONTEST:  Cedric De Boise vs Fernand Duif

This is going to be a tough one to write about because I was hoping for a quality striking battle between these two given their records.  Duif played it smart however and refused to get into many striking exchanges at range, instead utilizing clinch warfare to his advantage.  Possibly a smart move considering De Boise had him bleeding inside the first minute of the fight.  In any event, you can’t take anything away from the Fernand Duif for recognizing - and avoiding - a dangerous situation and Cedric De Boise will, no doubt,  be back.

WINNER:  Fernand Duif (UD)

PRELIMS - 135lb CONTEST:  Lewis Burwell Puller vs Tom Thomas

Well this one was decisive; Puller considers himself a big fish and pumps the brakes on Tom Thomas’ aspirations of fighting the top tier at the moment.  Huge 1st round finish for Puller tonight and this has to have the top 5 taking notice and has no doubt earned him plenty more fans in the process..

WINNER:  Lewis Burwell Puller t(KO)

185lb CO-MAIN EVENT:  Jack Lynn vs Yusuke Urameshi

I was all in on Jack Lynn for this one and boy was I wrong.  I offer my sincere apologies to Yusuke Urameshi for my prediction on this one.  This was an unbelievable scrap that could have easily taken the FOTN award.  Jack Lynn came out doing what Jack Lynn does; looks for the finish. Lynn had Urameshi in all sorts of trouble early on, taking him down, working for the submission, rocking and cutting him all in the 1st round.  Urameshi kept his composure, managed to escape back to his feet and get himself back into this contest.  Another takedown by Lynn in the 3rd round was answered with a quick escape and then the tables fully turned.  Urameshi steps up his production and puts Jack Lynn away in the 3rd and final round.  I’m going to be a bit more careful in my predictions from now on.

WINNER:  Yusuke Urameshi (t(KO)

Jimmy’s Prediction:  Lynn by Submission (0-1)

185lb CONTEST MAIN EVENT:  Jarna Kuiva vs Michel Colucci

Michel Colucci makes a statement in this one, and Jarna Kuiva hits a brick wall.  Colucci shows he should still be in every discussion as it pertains to the title picture, with a bounce back submission win after his loss to Yes Man Sanchez.  As predicted, Colucci pulled off a slick armbar finish here and kept Kuiva playing defense for the entire fight.

WINNER:  Michel Colucci (Sub)

Jimmy’s Prediction:  Colucci by Submission (1-1)

Honourable mention goes out tonight for Lightweight Champion Domenico Mazziotti, who was curiously left out of the Main Event for his latest title defense.  Nonetheless, Mazzioti showed up as the consummate professional and schools Sao Alela in under a minute to retain his shiny Alpha-1 belt in dominant fashion.

Alpha-1 Clash of Champions

Ladies and Gentleman, Clash of Champions presented by Alpha-1 is live this Saturday night and boy do we have a night of knockouts that will be instore for you. The Main event sees the light heavyweight champion Cerberus Dionisy battle the cruiserweight champion Juha Niska in what should be a battle of epic proportions. We will see experienced legends and fighters return to the cage. My name is Tycoon Hec and I am filling in this weekend for the artist that is Jimmy Normal. Just want to take a quick moment and say thankyou for the opportunity to write for you all and what a great card this will shape out to be! I look forward to presenting you a preview of what we should expect. Fight odds are ever changing and are currently up for the take. Lets go ahead and step right into the cage.

Emilio Rojas vs Mario Bendetti
Welterweight Matchup

La Bomba” Emilio Rojas (26-19) earned his nickname after going on a series of knockout victories finishing his opponents in violent fashion. Fans of the bomber are stoked to see him return to the octagon against an experienced legitimate finisher in Mario Bendetti (20-5). Bendetti, who is making his long awaited return to the cage after a five month layoff has returned with a new manager, new sparring partners, and new coaches that will look to elevate him to his 21st victory and beyond. Since signing with Alpha-1 Bendetti has looked to be a viable threat to the title and an eventual title holder. He will have to get through some intense tests including Rojas if he wishes to hold the belt in the future. Speaking with coaches at Spartan MMA they have shared with us that Bendetti is not the same fighter that we had seen in November and that his overall game has improved. La Bomba is coming off of two knockout losses in his recent fights and at the age of 39 is entering the twilight of his career. Rojas is hoping to make one final run for the title and safely put away the newfound threat that is Bendetti but the youthfulness of the 30 year old may prove to be too much for Rojas.

Prediction: Bendetti stops Rojas in the first round with a flurry of strikes and puts his name in fighters to avoid other welterweights.

Jerome Steel vs Ara Tiotio
Heavyweight Matchup

Jerome “Hands of” Steel (19-16) has 19 wins in his professional career and 18 of those come by way of knockout. To say this guy is blood thirsty is an understatement. Whether it is by flying knee or by cutting his opponents open and forcing the doctors to step in, this guy swings from bell to bell and his opponent Ara “Turtle” Tio Tio (22-7) will have his hands full come Saturday night. The former Synchronicity fighter who has just recently made his transition to  Alpha-1 fully expects to outwork Steel and be the 17th fighter to claim victory over him. Fans of Tio Tio have been seen posting on Buzz saying Tio Tio breaks Steel! The two heavyweight fighters have a lot of respect for one another and will certainly have so much more after the fight on Saturday evening. Before making the transition to Alpha-1, Ara Tio Tio was on a four fight losing streak all via knockouts. His career had a fast start and slowly he started to see it go down the drain. He was released from the promotion and has since started to look for a motivation factor. Under new manager Monkey Business, Tio Tio has got his first knockout victory and is seeing the bright lights of victory yet again. Steel is coming into this match-up with a load of confidence knowing that his opponent Tio Tio will likely rush in and will catch a head kick or right hook and Steel will walk away climbing the rankings yet again.

Prediction: Steel finishes Tio Tio and sends him back tumbling in his career with another knockout loss.

Ciro Terranova vs John Edwards
Middleweight Match-up

Allow me to start this off with the following sentence, put money on it that this will be the fight of the night! Ciro “The Artichoke King” Terranova (29-13) is a five time fight of the night winner and holder of 20 knockouts. The Artichoke King is a recent take into Alpha-1 coming over from Pulse Fighting where he had a mixed record. John “Samurai” Edwards (22-13) hopes to welcome the Artichoke King to Alpha-1 through one of his famous submission victories. The four time fight of the night winner usually rips the arms off his opponents to walk away with his submission victories but with his high agility rating and punch technique has no qualms with trading shots with his opponents. Terranova has a high output of strikes against his opponents and looks to land as many shots as he can when his opponents are face to face with him. It is safe to say that Terranova loves to rearrange faces and will plan to do just that against Edwards on Saturday. I had the chance to connect with some of Randalls Top Team coaches and they shared with us that they know Edwards will look to get this fight to the ground and does not desire to stand and trade with such a fearsome striker as Terranova but that by the end of the night, the entire middleweight division will be put on notice of the terror that is Terranova. There seems to be no concern for Edwards camp about what their opponents know or don't know, they believe that Edwards is miles above Terranova and will get him to the ground and force him to tap by the sound of the second bell.

Prediction: Terranova is going to be a new star in Alpha-1 and will begin that process come Saturday night with another shocking knockout victory.

Jerome Steel vs Ara Tiotio
Heavyweight Matchup

Jerome “Hands of” Steel (19-16) has 19 wins in his professional career and 18 of those come by way of knockout. To say this guy is blood thirsty is an understatement. Prediction: Steel finishes Tio Tio and sends him back tumbling in his career with another knockout loss.

Inspektor Bee vs Desi Kraag
Heavyweight Matchup

Former heavyweight champion Inspektor Bee (17-11) is returning to the cage this Saturday night taking on top contender and win streak runner Desi “Forgettable” Kraag (18-19). Kraag, who has been finishing his recent opponents, mostly by knockout, has his eyes set on getting a title shot against the former champion by knocking him out and he believes he will easily do just that. Inspektor Bee has a close friend in Inspektor Dee who had faced Desi earlier on his career, finishing him by knockout. Rumors are that the two Inspectors have been training in preparation for this matchup. A response from Kraags fans have been widely heard across Buzz saying Kraag is not the same fighter who he once was. Bee who has been training out of St. Petersburg holds fast to seeing his name in lights again and welcoming the heavyweight title to his home gym but to do that against Kraag is a massive test for him to overcome. It surely is a number one contender match-up for both of these guys. This fight has all the makings of knockout of the night written all over it and it will surely come down to a lot more than a powerful punch or kick. In his most recent outing, Kraag submitted his opponent via guillotine a blackbelt in BJJ. He believes that anywhere this fight takes him he can easily topple Bee and send him falling down the rankings even further.

Prediction: Kraag via referee stoppage late in the third round.

MAIN EVENT:
Cerberus Dionisy vs Juha Niska

Light Heavyweight Championship

When champions of two divisions meet in the center of the ring, fans expect explosions. This Saturday night's main event will be filled with explosive action as the Light Heavyweight Champion Cerberus Dionisy (13-1) who is currently riding a twelve fight winning streak defends his belt against the dangerous and talented Cruiserweight Champion Juha Niska (18-5) who is on a four fight win streak of his own. In a match that is sure to bring all the fireworks we will look to see Dionisy impose his dynamite hands on Niska and earn himself another knockout victory but this time to the cruiserweight champion in Niska. Niska who has been very intentional about working on his striking defense in this upcoming match has been showing vast improvements in his footwork and counter striking abilities and will prove to be the toughest match of Cerberus career. Fight fans are looking at this fight almost questioning why Dionisy had accepted this match up showing that his lack of experience may be his downfall in this fight as Niska will dance around and outpoint him all the way to the judges score cards. Odds are currently pretty even at (-150) for each fighter and it will not take long for fight fans to throw down their money when they see these two weigh-in Friday night. The matchup between these two Alpha legends breaks down in pretty simple ways, both guys prefer to strike and both guys tend to get hit quite a bit. Niska will look to move into the clinch game where he has been dominant so far in his career, however the Black Belt with sensational wrestling may also look to impose some ground skills against Dionisy who is regularly taken to the ground in all of his fights. Dionisy on the other hand has a very straight forward attitude about most of his fights, go in and hit. Dionisy will aim and land, while missing some strikes, It's the Ngannou-like power this guy possesses that will even put heavyweights away. I had a chance to meet up with Karim Johnson, who is the Cruiserweight champion of Combate and regularly spars with Dionisy and he put the situation simply for me, Cerberus hits like a heavyweight and moves like a featherweight. Despite the loyalty these two camps have for their fighters, the fact remains that both these guys have bad intentions.

Prediction: Niska repeats his result two years ago on May first and gets his second knockout loss. Cerberus, who may be lesser in experience, will prove to be too much on the stand-up and tear through Niskas defense.

Alpha-1 Interlude

ALPHA-1 Promotions brings you a night of heavy hitters at Alpha-1 Interlude! Fight fans will get the opportunity to also witness the Bantamweight Champion take on one of MMATycoons best Bantamweights and the main event that is Bundy vs Saric in what is expected to be an all out war! Fight fans my name is Tycoon Hec and I am temporarily filling in for you and look forward to presenting you with such an outstanding card. Check out the fight odds listed on the event preview and place a bet! Without further delay lets get to the show!

Soul Taker vs Paul Joseph “PJW” Watson
Light Heavyweight Match-up

Soul Taker (16-7-2) vs Paul Joseph “PJW” Watson (14-7) starts the Alpha-1 main card in what is expected to be absolute mixed martial arts madness. Both of these guys come into fights looking to put the other out, either by knockout or submission but most often their fights end up going to decision, not that that is a bad thing it just means as fight fans we get more bang for our buck and I am all about that. Neither fighter enjoys having the fights go to the judges so you can safely expect this will be my pick for fight of the night, despite how great some of the other matchups are after this. Soul Taker is a carrier of 8 of the night awards, five of which are fights of the night and man does this guy seem to take opponents souls after he finishes them. PJW on the other hand has finished his last two opponents via submission and believes he will be able to safely take the soul of the Soul Taker himself come Sunday night via tapout. PJW who has been training in his striking defense for this matchup considers his defense to be at an all time high and that he will get the takedown and be the second guy to get Taker to tap. Takers fans have taken to the social media platform Buzz and stated they feel PJW is over his head on this one and will face punishment to the max in facing off with Soul Taker and eventually getting dropped and outpointed on all judges score cards. With both of these guys equal in height the fight will be primarily decided by the careful anticipation of the others advances. PJW understands that the Soul Taker will look to be utilizing every weapon he has and stop all takedowns coming his way while PJW will dive in or pull guard the first chance he gets believing that his superior BJJ rank will earn him the victory before the end of the night.

Prediction: PJW pulls off a dazzling submission as he darts in and chokes out the Phenom that is Soul Taker.

Yodsawan Sitsongrit vs Snappy Whiplash
Bantamweight Match-up

Before the heavyweights collide, fight fans are going to witness some fast paced action as the two top 135lbs fighters go at it. The Bantamweight Champion Yodsawan Sitsongrit (29-12) takes on one of MMATYCOONS bantamweight sensations in Snappy Whiplash (16-7). Snappy, who recently arrived at Alpha-1 after suffering a split decision loss to the champion of Gama, is hoping to rebuild and dismantle the champion Sitsongrit. Yodsawan is riding a seven fight win streak against some top talent and rarely losing a round in any of those matchups. Critics believe that the clinch game is where we will see a lot of the matchup and that this will look more like a muay thai match rather than an MMA fight. The important thing for Snappy is to remember not to play the game of Yodsawan and choose to engage and stay in the clinch. The 29 year old English Whiplash will have a lot more thrown at him taking on the #7 bantamweight in the world than he has been used to before.  I had the opportunity to reach out to Sitsongrits sparring partners and coaches. At Sitsongrit, only 14 fighters train there and out of the 14 that train there, 6 of them are champions. His sparring partners have shared with me that Yodsawan is not a fighter that Snappy can beat. He will get wrecked everywhere the fight goes and will be sent home crying. Snappy on the other hand who trains at Mentor Gym and has been working extensively on his clinch game knowing full well this fight will end up there at some point. Fight fans believe this match will end up going the distance and I would be inclined to agree. Both of these guys have granite jaws and an iron will that they will look to impose on the other.

Prediction: Yodsawan Sitsongrit will dismantle Snappy primarily based off experience and advance his streak to 8 wins.

Simon Gustafsson vs Sol Kwon
Light Heavyweight Match-up

The loss of love between these two light heavyweights is very little. Simon “Gris” Gustafsson (17-12) is one of the greatest submission artists in the game today. All of his wins come by way of submission and the London based fighter plans on taking out his opponent Sol “Kyokushin” Kwon (18-12) in terrifying submission fashion. Sol, who has only been finished once in his career by submission, considers Gustafsson will not be able to find a lock or choke that will put him out but instead will end up knocking his opponent unconscious with ease. Footage of Sol, a purple belt in jiu jitsu, training while wearing a blackbelt in BJJ has surfaced and fans have speculated that he has begun to play mind games with his opponent leading up to Sunday's clash. Rumors have circulated that Kwon does not believe Simon is a real Red Belt in BJJ considering he lost his most recent match via submission and struggles to pull off submission victories often going for numerous attempts before locking one in. Fans of Simon have been outspoken and retaliated against these rumors claiming Kwon hasn't looked the same since his first round knockout loss to Dionisy on the third of April and that his BJJ skill pales in comparison to Simons. This matchap really goes one of two ways, either Simon gets this fight to the ground or he will probably get outstruck on the feet and taking punches from an opponent like Sol may not be the most desirable thing in the world. The question to be presented is if Simon gets this fight to the ground how will he actively work for submissions or will he take time to transition and control? For Kwon the question remains how does he ensure his striking is dangerous enough to put out Gustaffson while not being careful to not get taken down by Simon?

Prediction: Simon Gustafsson gets this fight to the ground with rapid movement and advances to mount working an arm triangle with ease propelling himself to title contention in the near future.

Mawi Da Oxlade vs Evaristo Jesus
Heavyweight Match-up

Another thrilling heavyweight match-up on the card sees six foot six monster in Mawi Da Oxlade (17-9) look to put on another highlight reel knockout against the always dangerous Evaristo Jesus (35-15). Oxlade walks into this match-up with Jesus after combining a three fight win streak all via knockout of head kicks. His flexibility is something magnificent to say the least. Jesus has just recently signed with a new manager in V Caliman and looks to prove that at the age of 37 he is still one of the most dangerous guys that Alpha-1 has seen. Training out in New Yorks gym Academia dos Brasucas, the former PFC champion and Gamma top contender knows what it is like to face elite strikers and shares little concern to what Oxlade brings to the table. Considering himself a little of a knockout artist, Jesus has the ability to end a fight with his fists at any point in the match. Evaristo Jesus is well known by fans across the mma world as one who puts on a show! Winner of 12 fight of the night awards and 9 knockout of the night awards it is safe to say that Evaristo does not just look to end the fight he looks to entertain during the fight. Oxlade, who is seven years younger than the veteran Jesus, believes he will be just too much and will catch his opponent before the end of the first round bell. Fight fans of Jesus scoff at such a belief as the granite chin Jesus has not been finished in the first round since he was submitted early on in his career so to do that would be an immense feat. The hype has been building around Oxlade and fight fans are anticipating another knockout victory and are hopeful that it is by another astonishing head kick.

Prediction: Oxlade has his heart set on gold and will prove to be just too much for Jesus and catch him late in the second round.

MAIN EVENT
Ted Bundy vs Sdravko Saric
Heavyweight Match-up

Sdravko “the shit sniffer” Saric (38-21) who holds an impressive 38 wins with 36 coming by way of knockout is facing a new threat in Ted Bundy (18-8) Where only one of his wins has been by decision. Ted Bundy has submitted five of his opponents and knocked twelve of them before the final bell. In this matchup between two fearsome Heavyweight warriors, it is safe to assume someone will be woken by the referee only to realize their hand will not be raised at the end of the night. Bundy, a 29 year old fighting out of Helinski has been training out of Zero Tolerance, a gym that houses twenty four fighters and one champion who is not yet at the same caliber of matchups as his teammate Bundy. Watching Bundy train for this upcoming fight has really shown me that this kid has everything it takes to become a future pound for pound goat however going against the 41 year old Saric may be asking just a little too much for Bundy. Saric who is widely celebrated as a sensational boxer and muay thai fighter believes that his opponent will learn a lot, especially in the striking situations that arise Sunday evening. Sdravko holds a brown belt in BJJ and despite being lower ranked in both forms of grappling than Bundy, thinks he will keep this fight on the feet and finish the young martial artist. Fight fans will be seeing this fight in two ways, the old lion take out the new lion or the old lion retaining his and putting away the young lion. Despite what the media shares this fight is not so much about the age of these two fighters or even their level of experience, at this weight what it is really coming down to is pure dominant skill. Saric has never been submitted in his professional career and believes that the black belt Bundy wont find any success there either, that shared, Saric has lost via knockout twelve times and is certainly susceptible to being finished by Bundy via strikes. Bundy on the other hand has been knocked out and submitted before but finds that he will have the edge on his legendary opponent this sunday night. The one foot advantage in height and 40 pounds in weight will be giving Bundy some desirable physical boosts against Saric making it harder for Saric to find a punch and harder to escape offensive maneuvers from Bundy.

Prediction: Ted Bundy will move in for a takedown from the clinch position and transition to side control from there pulling off a hellacious submission victory.

Alpha-1: Super Series

Alpha-1 is back this Saturday night, live from Los Angeles’ Memorial Coliseum with over 90,000 expected to be in attendance and fights that are sure to shake up the rankings across the world and fighters who are bound to be future hall of farmers. Featherweight stars collide as the Gamma Champion takes on the Alpha Champion in what is surely being considered the fight for the best featherweight. There are heavyweights and super heavyweights and knockouts to be expected. Let's get into the Alpha-1 Super Series! My name is Tycoon Hec and I am thrilled to be with you guys I look forward to watching these fights unfold and wish the very best to all the fighters and managers, especially to Opie. Good luck Opie!

Bishop vs Southall
Heavyweight Match-up

Keth “The Hammer'' Bishop (28-14) proves true to his nickname while holding 22 knockout finishes in his record. The Hammer, who is coming off a recent knockout victory performance, is hoping his fists can get the job done once again as he looks to take on the always aggressive, Neville Southall (18-16). A fan favorite who now resides in New York, Southall proves to be one who goes in swinging for the fences hoping to put his opponent out early. A knockout artist with 16 of his 18 wins coming by way of knockout rarely sees the fight taken outside of the first round. Southall has been compared to the great Iceman Chuck Liddell from his teammates, his counter striking effectiveness when opponents rush in just to see them get wrecked and that will be a concern for Bishop in this matchup as well. A fighter who primarily prefers to stay on the feet and exchange until his opponent collapses, Southall believes Bishop will be the first to crumble come Saturday night. Bishop has just recently grabbed a victory after what seemed to be four losses in a row with his new manager. Feeling like his mma career was coming to an end Bishop made some significant changes in his life and is looking to be much more impressive than what we had previously seen of him. Under this new mentorship Bishop hopes to instill absolute pain upon Southall and bring this fight to an end early in the first placing himself in the top 20 of his division. Both fighters have been working intensely on their striking defense knowing that they are susceptible to being sliced open as well as receiving too much damage on the feet. This fight is really one of those match-ups where it will be like rock-em sock-em robots and its going to be the first guy who knocks the other down. I figure the clinch game of Bishop may temporarily come into play and we wont see as many kicks from him this time around but an increased amount of punches. This is certainly my pick for fight of the night.

Prediction: I believe Keith “The Hammer” Bishop pulls off the victory. Despite his morale hit, I think Neville will push forward too much and get caught by a looping overhand hook.

Barkley vs Rawse
Super Heavyweight Match-up

Two fighters looking to break their losing streak collide in what should be a technical matchup of super heavyweights. Ross Barkley (19-15) holds each of his wins by knockout. A fighter who never allows the judges to tell him he won takes it for himself in impressive fashion. The larger of the two fighters going into this matchup, Barkley looks to impose his size and will upon the threat that is Ricky “The Boss” Rawse (15-12-1). The Chicago born martial artist now residing in Las Vegas, Rawse, is also a holder of all of his wins by knockout. Rawse, like Barkley, prefers to finish his opponents knowing he won the fight rather than having someone else telling him. What that should tell all of our fight fans at home is that these two warriors will come in and swing to knock the others head clean off! Both fighters have been knocked out before so it would not be too much of a surprise to see either end up going down the only surprise would be if this fight went past the first round. Rawse who averages most of his shots to the head will look to only utilize punches and mostly without them being in combinations. His opponent, in Barkley will definitely look to mix up his strikes, but where he thrives is up close and personal, in the clinch, in guard, in his opponents face. I assume Barkley will go in for a takedown and that will be his game plan for this fight.

Prediction: Ross Barkley shoots in the takedown and carries home a first round victory via ground and pound.

Steelers vs Lemieux
Super Heavyweight Championship

It will almost be like watching two planets collide when these two go at it. Pittsburgh Steelers (29-12) is one of the most vicious knockout artists of this generation. Winner of 29 fights, 28 of those came by knockout. Currently ranked as the number 10 best fighter in his division, the Superheavyweight Steelers hopes to advance that number when he defends his title against the very impressive Vincent Lemieux (29-25). Lemieux, the 11th ranked fighter in his division, considers a victory over the sitting champion will propel him into the spotlight and eventually get the respect he feels he truly deserves. The Sydney based fighter is riding a two fight win streak right now and has been training at the famous Cope Gym. Connecting with his coaches I had asked how training was going, they shared that they believe it is a 100 times better than whatever Steelers is considering training because he is not actually a member of a gym. They also shared how his agility has picked up and his clinchwork has taken on a new level. The rumors are true, Steelers have not been training as of recently and we are not sure if this is a desire for retirement or just an overconfidence or even if it's a lack of finding a gym he wishes to invest in. Whatever the case may be Lemiuex will definitely be going into this matchup with a lot more confidence and hoping to land strikes on Steelers quickly.

Prediction: Vincent Lemieux shocks the world and takes the title away from Pittsburgh Steelers in violent fashion taking home the knockout of the night award.

Winston vs Klos
Co-Main Event
Middleweight Match-up

Two fighters closing in on a middleweight title shot are finding themselves headed straight towards one another in what is sure to be a wild spectacle. Harry “Opie” Winston (36-29) is a 41 year old American, eight years the elder of his German opponent Cal “Tansovic” Klos (25-16-1). These two fighters are both coming in on a two fight win streak looking to dismantle the other on the climb up the ladder. Winston, who has been known to finish fights by both submission and knockout, believes that Klos is just another match for the veteran of the cage and anticipates proving why he is the best fighter across the board. Winston holds 13 of his victories by knockout and 16 of them by submission with that shared it is safe to assume that wherever this fight ends up, Winston will be comfortable. Cal Klos has only been finished three times in his career so there is little nervousness he has in going against an experienced cage fighter like Winston. Klos only has one defeat in his last five match-ups and expects a dominant performance and to make a statement to the whole division that the belt is as good as his. In reaching out to Klos friends over at London MMA club, they have shared with me they have never seen the guy so determined in the gym as now. Critics have claimed that he has lost the x factor in fighting and that he just looks to win fights by decision which may be the reason for his motivated training camp. Harry Winston's teammate and longtime best friend Jax Teller shared with us that since the recent family tragedy that Winston experienced he would not want to be the guy standing across the cage from him. This heavily implies that Winston is not just looking to win the fight but batter his opponent.

Prediction: Harry Winston will take this fight via submission. He will be the second guy to tap out Cal and hopefully that will move him in the direction of a title shot.

Kitjakarn vs Macnamara
Main Event
Featherweight Match-up

The Featherweight Champion of Alpha defends his organization when he welcomes the Featherweight Champion of Gamma in a match with no title on the line rather the pride of the organization and the recognition as the best featherweight in the world. Biabas Kitjakarn (8-2) had five professional fights in kickboxing early on his career before making the full time transition to mixed martial arts. Now a brown belt, Biabas struggled to defend submission attempts from ground fighters in the early part of his mma career succumbing to the grappling of better skilled opponents. His manager at the time decided it was best if they parted ways and Biabas had since found a manager who is looking to obtain his 1000th win and may very well do so with Kitjakarns victory this saturday night! His match up is no joke in “The Gypsy Prince” Seamus Macnamara (28-5-1).  Seamus, who is riding a five fight win streak, has a killer fight ahead of him against a guy who fans have been calling the kryptonite to Macnamara, a strong kickboxer. The experience factor is what many of Mcnamara's fans are claiming will lead him to victory, the 31 year old Irish sensation believes he will be too much for the Muay Thai fighter and will outbox him all the way to the judges score cards. When reaching out to Kitjakarns coaches, they have shared with me they believe Kitjakarn will knock out the Gypsy Prince stating he is too small and as long as Biabas walks him down he will pummel him. The facts are there, Seamus Macnamara weighs only 111 lbs and stands under five feet. Despite his physical traits not being as desirable for a fighter as others, his fight records stand out for themselves outsourcing every fighter he goes against by mixing up his strikes with the highest level of talent. His opponent in Biabas is significantly heavier and taller and will probably look to employ the clinch in a way that Mcnamara has never experienced. I think this is a fight that has the potential for fight of the night but will certainly shake up the featherweight division across the world.

Prediction: Kitjakarn will press Macnamara against the cage landing multiple strikes until the fight is recorded as a TKO.
