Organization:    Island Xtreme Fighting

Date:     06 Mar 2021

City:       The Island (17:00 GMT)

Arena: Paddy O'Malleys Bar - The Island (700)

“Big” Steven Petitpas here on the Island for the most anticipated debut of the Island Season. Island Xtreme Fighting, in association with its merchandise partner, Island Xtreme Clothing, is proud to present IXF1 live from Paddy O’Malleys Bar. Let’s get to it!

Main Event

170 lbs Greek Powaaah (0-0) v Marcus Behnder (3-0)

Headlining IXF1 is 18 year-old Greek Powaah against 25 year old Marcus “I need a Band-Aid” Behnder. We should expect Powaah to stand and exchange and he has a good height advantage to keep Behnder at bay if he chooses. Behnder is 3-0 and after some QFC warm-up’s which saw him dominate on the ground game to earn three submissions in less than four total minutes. If there’s a knock on his game, it’s his paper-thin skin. Greek Powaah has the acumen to take advantage, but does he have the skill to pull it off? Find out on March 6th at IXF 1.

155 lbs Snake Jones (0-0) v Mihail Strutu (1-0)

We jump to the 155 pound division for the penultimate fight. A native of Manchester, Snake Jones is an all-round 25 year old fighter looking to dominate the division. He comes into IXF1 as the second-ranked fighter in the division and a win over Strutu could open the door for a title fight. Mihail Strutu joined IXF after a one-fight career in Tortuga Fight. His one and only fight was 21 second, 5-punch knockout of some bum whose been recently retired. Not much of a warm-up for the Romanian, but at least he knows he can throw em down.

205 lbs Johnny Cannons (0-0) v Jin Dredd (0-0)

Representing the 205 pound division, Johnny "Warboner" Cannons squares off against Jin Dredd. Cannons is from the famed Chris Karter family and the 25 year old from nearby Nassau told this reporter that he’s not going to let the team down. His mixture of Muay Thai and wrestling prowess will be a tough match for anyone. Jin Dredd disagrees. The 25 year old native of Rio de Janeiro comes into this match already having brown belt in BJJ and fully expects to use this to make Cannons tap.

170 lbs Son Of Dan (0-0) v Brazilian Powaaah (0-0)

Another 170 pound matchup featuring two newcomers to the sport. The 25 year old Son of Dan is the stablemate of Jorge Aquino Jr. He started his career later in life, but his corner is hoping the increased life experience will better prepare him for the rigors of the Cage. His opponent is the 2nd of three Powaaah brothers representing manager Clubber Winger. Brazilian gives up 7 years to Son of Dan and 10 pounds, but has a very small reach advantage. On the Island, any advantage could be the difference between glory and defeat.

170 lbs Jorge Aquino Jr (0-0) v Dagestan Powaaah (0-0)

Two MMA Tycoon newcomers start off the Main Event card. Jorge Aquino was dropped onto the Island from Stone Mountain, Georgia, and rumors around the locker room are that he’s been working on his ground game. Said a trainer at Cozad’s gym “Aquino? Ya he pays his bills.” Dagestan Powaaah is also working hard at the Island’s Cozad gym and although he’s an Abu Dhabi native, his blood runs deep with Degastanian warrior blood. It will be a contrast in styles for these two 18-year olds; will Degastan use his boxing skills to keep this one upright, or will Aquino Jr sweep him off his feet?

Undercard

And now, for the undercard! Full of veteran fighters who have stood the test of time… just kidding.

It’s the first blood event of the organization and with it will come the first blood of many of its fighters.

205 lbs Rock Brown v Max Strasburg

The night will be kicked off by the fight of Rock Brown vs Max Strasburg.

This is like the tenth Max Strasburg that has entered the octagon and so far, and well, things had not gone well for his predecessors.

And tonight, Max is unlikely to break the name’s curse, given he’s bringing a blue belt against Rock’s brown belt.

Since Max wouldn’t hit a sandbag with a punch, he will have to take it to the ground, and then somehow stop getting subbed.

Will he succeed?

We shall see tomorrow.

265 lbs Louise Chaderito v Marcus Gilliam

The second fight of the night will be Louise Chaderito vs Marcus Gilliam.

Unlike the previous fight, this won’t be a grappling match.

Both fighters are strikers, and while Gilliam is an expert boxer, Chaderito is a muay thai artist.

Does Chaderito have any other move than a punch up his sleeve? Unlikely.

So, this will be a fun slugfest with Gilliam having a slight edge in skillset, and Chaderito will try to make up for it with motivation alone.

The thing is that he’s almost broke, so he needs a win, badly.

Will that be enough?

I think so.

155 lbs Hells No v Antonio Gomes

The next fight is Hells No vs Antonio “Piranha” Gomes.

This fight will look as if the fighters have mistaken their sport. Both come with a bjj brown belt, Gomes even sporting a Gi, and it’s unlikely they will do anything other than cuddle.

Don’t want to watch adult, almost naked men cuddle? Tough luck, because that’s what you’re getting in this fight.

So, who will win?

How am I supposed to know that? Do I look like I have a crystal ball?

Get off my back.

265 lbs Louis Gingerbeard v Popul Vuh

The fourth fight of the night will be Louis Gingerbeard vs Popul Vuh.

This one will be entertaining. Vuh will enter the arena in stylish, IXC outfit while Gingerbeard wears the default clothes.

Like, really, who does that these days?

Anyway, in terms of the fight, Vuh will try to keep this in striking, which he will most likely fail to do.

Gingerbeard, on the other hand, has a clean plan in form of engaging in the clinch, maintaining an advantegous position and molesting Vug.

And I’m not even talking about the possibility of Gingerbeard pulling guard and breaking Vuh’s arm in a triangle.

Even he doesn’t end up attempting that, this will be an uphill battle for Vuh.

170 lbs Steve Cannson v Polish Powaaah

And the final fight of the undercard will be Steve "Crawdad" Cannson vs Polish Powaaah.

With both of these kids being 18, they look a touch out of place in comparison to the other fighters.

But that doesn’t mean their fight will be any less exciting.

Ok, nevermind, it does. Powaaaah comes in with excellent boxing and no grappling skills while Cannson is a grappler.

If Cannson isn’t too young to know how to shoot for a takedown, he’s got this in the bag.

Powaaah will come in fast, hot, get taken down, and then violated on the ground.

He’s welcomed to prove me wrong though.

Man, just saw Lucky Lefty prowling the Island with a scary looking crew with even sillier names than mine......

The COALITION OF DOOM is about to meet to see wtf we gonna do bout this.  That Karter rule of not accepting fights vs silly names is being revisited as we speak!

This is the general look around the table tho lol

Mihail Strutu

Jones had his chances in round 2 when he got that clinch after a lot of attempts, he couldn't knock me out or waste my energy!

Beside that round when he got that lucky clinch and I was looking just to defend and break out of the clinch, he did absoultely nothing in that fight, got 2 rounds 10-8

Time to move on, train and fight!

Currently the king of Lightweight on The Island!

Yo boss! I need a fight, put me in there with Johnny Cannons, he looks weak and frail and I wanna make him bleed!  Or if you really dont like Rock Brown put me in there with him, but I will give him such a demoralizing beating that he will rethink his whole life and retire in fear of ever having to cross paths with me again.

Organization:     Island Xtreme Fighting

Date:     13 Mar 2021

City:       The Island (17:00 GMT)

Arena:   Paddy O'Malleys Bar - The Island (700)

Big Steven Petitpas back with another Island Xtreme Fighting preview. We can’t talk about IXF II without first commenting on the colossal success that was IXF I. Have you ever, in your unfortunate lives, seen such a positive response to an opening event than what we saw last week at IXF I? No losers to fine anywhere … except the Powaaah family. A horrible setback to their collective Island careers after going 0-an-4 to start things off. Clubber Winger could not be angrier at the way things shook down for his team. But, like the Powaaah family, we’re here to look forward and not dwell on the pass, so let’s get down to business.

IXF II

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Marcus BehnderMixed Martial Arts Fighter - New Car

185 lbs Marcus Behnder (4-0) v New Car (3-0)

The top two pound-for-pound fighters on the Island square off in this incredible Main Event. Behnder fought just seven days ago at IXFI, earning a surprisingly easy first round submission win over Greek Powaaah while also grabbing submission of the night along the way. To his immense relief, he also survived without getting cut, giving his fragile skin extra time to heal. What’s behind door #1? A New Car! Manager Lucky Lefty may get sick of that lame joke, but this pundit won’t. Car enters IXF after a three-fight QFC warm-up that saw him punch his way to three knockout wins. It could have been worse had he not learned from his first-fight near gaff; 7 head punches connected out of 79 thrown in the clinch, an abysmal and unsustainable ratio. Who will prevail in this battle of the titans? Behnder’s ground game or Car’s standup prowess?

Prediction: I’ve loved Behnder since his first fight, but I’m a huge fan of the Price is Right. A New Car wins by TKO as a result of Behnder blood-loss.

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Draven MaxwellMixed Martial Arts Fighter - Takeshi Yuudai

135 lbs Draven Maxwell (1-0) v Takeshi Yuudai (3-0)

135 pounders are hard to find these days, but IXF is lucky enough to have two of the best. Draven Maxwell enters IXF after one QFC warm-up, a late second round knockout after unsigned and unwanted Alexander Wilson. It was a good test though as Maxwell quickly found out what worked (clinchwork) and what didn’t (everything else). 8 successful clinches and a perfect 100% strike rate will make any opponent wary. Takeshi "Turbo" Yuudai is a perfect 3-and-0 after three quick submission wins in a week during his QFC tour. The takedown rate has been far from what Yuudai wants, but he’s been aggressive and quick enough to take advantage when he gets there. This will be another contrast in styles. Will the much taller Maxwell be able to keep Yuudai at arms length, or will the 5 footer get in close and take it to the ground?

Prediction: If Draven is able to use his reach and keep Turbo away, I think he has a chance to pull of a decision. But I don’t think he can. Yuudai is comically short and Maxwell may have a hard time zeroing in.

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Helio NogueiraMixed Martial Arts Fighter - George Russell

155 lbs Helio Nogueira (0-0) v George Russell (1-0)

This will be Helio "The Anaconda" Nogueira’s first fight on the Island and IXF is happy to have him onboard. After running through two months of tests with previous fighters, manager Chuck W94 believes he’s found the right recipe with Nogueira, a BJJ artist with some grappling skills. His opponent, George Russell (not the Williams driver), has a nearly exact build with a slightly more proficient wrestling background. Russell is 1-0 after escaping Highland for greener pastures. He won his only fight, a close three round decision that saw him work inefficiently, but hard enough to impress the judges. This could win snore of the night, but a ticket to the top of the division awaits the winner.

Prediction: Unless Nogueria makes Russell pay early for a mistake, I can guarantee fans will ask for their money back after this one. But I don’t see it going that way. Russell will overextend, Nogueria will punish.

155 lbs Ricky Luciano (1-0) v Necmettin Hoca (0-0)

Ricky Luciano pounded the jesus out of Ginger Johnson in his QFC warm-up, cutting him in the early seconds of the fight and knocking him out cold before Johnson had the chance to take his robe off. Luciano’s defense was also working, avoiding the only two strikes thrown his way. Necmettin Hoca is likely to test Luciano’s big heart a little more, but he comes in as an unknown. His manager is one of the more successful in the business and we don’t expect Hoca to roll over easily. Island creations are an ornery bitch at times and it remains to be seen if Hoca’s wrestling skills are legit.

Prediction: Luciano swings and misses and gets cut on the button. Staggered, but still standing, Luciano pulls off a 2nd round knockout.

185 lbs Ache Guarani (0-0) v Wanderlei Nogueira (0-0)

I don’t think there’s much doubt that Republica Guarani is the best looking fighter out there. Probably also the strongest, quickest, most well conditioned fighter in the game. He’s also undefeated. Rumors are that his manager has very little idea what he’s doing. This will be the 25 year-old Wanderlei Nogueira’s first bout. The stand-up specialist will look to bang away at Guarani, hoping to find a weakness and avoiding takedown attempts.

Prediction: Wanderlei Nogueira makes this one look easy, getting an early first round knockout.

185 lbs Steele Campbell (0-1) v War Path (0-0)

Steele Campbell did a one-and-done at Highland and joins IXF after losing his only fight. It was a mixed bag for Campbell; his defense was pretty good, despite being knocked out, and he showed some good footwork staying out of early danger. His offense was sub-par and requires some work if he wants to earn his first win. War Path is an unknown fighter, but rumors at Big Fitness indicate that he’s been working hard on his Muay Thai so we expect a decent stand-up brawl in this one.

Prediction: Campbell falls to 0-2 after a nasty knockout

205 lbs Louciano Chaderito (0-0) v Abdul Kadir (0-0)

Two new fighters with nearly identical builds will look for their first win in this 205 pound matchup. Both prefer a grappling game and it may come down to strength and desire. Whoever is able to control the ground game should come out on top in this one.

Prediction: Kadir adds another win to G Wad's total via 1st round submission.

205 lbs Cannon Fodder (0-0) v King Redbeard (0-0)

Two new IXF fighters open up the 205 pound division. Cannon Fodder’s bio reads “very very expendable”, a huge sign of confidence from his team. He could very well be fodder, but we have a little more faith than Billy Arseworth does. King Captain Redbeard hopes to follow in his bearded teammates footsteps (see IXFI) and make manager Chris Karter happy. Similar styles, exact physical builds, we’ll see how this one shapes up.

Prediction: Redbeard via decision

265 lbs DeeJay Dawkins (0-0) v Andrey Karaev (0-0)

DeeJay "The Decepticon" Dawkins is being billed as a former college star turned cagefighter. The pride of Flint, Michigan has good wrestling skills combined with solid boxing skills. His opponent, the possibly radioactive Andrey Karaev, will see Dawkins’ boxing skills and raise a BJJ skill. We expect the wrestler to prevail, but we’re wrong more times than not.

Prediction: Dawkins via decision

170 lbs Durans Helmsfrid (1-0) v Haole Boy (0-0)

Two youngsters in the 170 pound division start the show. Durans Helmsfrid won his QFC warm-up with a fairly dominant unanimous decision. The crowd absolutely hated the fight (24% rating). But Helmsfrid doesn’t care about the polls. Haole Boy looks like Bob Marley, but we swear he isn’t. He has slight advantages in boxing and wrestling, but is outclassed if it goes to the mat.

Prediction: Haole Boy evens Helmsfrid's record.

Organization:     Island Xtreme Fighting

Date:     14 Mar 2021

City:       The Island (17:00 GMT)

Arena:   Wild Bob's Bar - The Island (750)

IXF III - Main Event

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Louis GingerbeardMixed Martial Arts Fighter - Barrett Barber

265 lbs Louis Gingerbeard (1-0) v Barrett Barber (4-0)

Undefeated and sitting near the top of the 265 pound division, Louis "Captain" Gingerbeard squares off against Barrett "Brutal" Barber. Gingerbeard outlasted Popul Vuh at IXFI, winning a close unanimous decision. He clinched like he was on the last date of his life, landing 50+ punches with a “high-volume wins fights” philosophy. This time it worked. Barrett "Brutal" Barber is off to a great 4-0 start, all four by TKO. The shortest fight was under a minute, the longest at the end of the second round. His accuracy has been exceptional, landing over three quarters of his punches through those four fights, but critics are raising eyebrows. His combined opponent record is 1-5.

Prediction: Gingerbeard survived Vuh, but being as aggressive against Barber will cost him. TKO via cuts

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Hells NoMixed Martial Arts Fighter - Mihail Strutu

155 lbs Hells No (1-0) v Mihail Strutu (2-0)

Hells No is shaking his head and we can see why. A win at IXFI has him in the early hunt for a title shot, but it was closer than he would have liked. A close unanimous decision against Antonio Gomes where he had to comeback from a lousy first round to pull it off may have affected his confidence. He has a good ground game and will look to get off to a better start against undefeated Mihail Strutu. Strutu had a Jekyll and Hyde matchup at IXFI. At times he looked absolutely dominant against Snake Jones, winning rounds 1 and 3 10-8. He split those with a clunker of a round 2, but it was thankfully not poor enough to affect the outcome. Huge contrast in styles here. Will Strutu be able to keep it off the mat, or will No suffer from the heavy hands?

Prediction: Hells No continues to do most things right, but there’s something about Strutu that the 155 division should keep an eye on. Strutu via decision

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Patrick WattMixed Martial Arts Fighter - Eddie Bravo

170 lbs Patrick Watt (1-0) v Eddie Bravo (3-0)

Patrick Watt made Knockout Bob happy with a QFC warm-up TKO over Enzo Williams. It was such a dominant performance that Williams announced his retirement from the sport right there in the ring after the fight. Watt is a stand-up fighter, but his surprisingly good ground defense was what made the difference in the fight. He’ll need to keep up that defense against submission expert, Eddie Bravo. Bravo’s three QFC fights have all ended in submission wins and all have lasted less than two minutes. Watt is a step-up in competition, but Bravo’s been so efficient, you wonder if anybody is going to stand in his way. Bravo’s warned Watt not to try and grapple with him at IXFIII, but I doubt he needed to be told.

Prediction: Taking the underdog. Bravo should wipe the floor with him, but we’re taking Watt and his magical ground defense to carry through fight two.

IXFIII Undercard

205 lbs Anigav Rennid (2-3) v Jin Dredd (0-1)

Anigav "Taco Eater" Rennid has been a busy fighter since joining the Island. Five fights in less than two weeks will exhaust anyone and it may have been a little too much, too soon. His morale has plummeted after losing his last two fights, but it’s not all bad news for the Hilo native. His two wins were impressive, including a 5 second knockout in his very first Island QFC fight and he has the stand-up game to bang with anyone. Jin Dredd is hoping not to stay standing as his skills line up more to the ground game. He was TKO’d in his first fight, 50 seconds into his IXFI match, after suffering an early cut. “Tends to Cut” is the last thing any manager wants to see and Dredd has to plan around taking Rennid to the mat.

Prediction: Dredd evens his record. But not before being bloodied by a flying taco.

265+ lbs Ser Gregor Clegane (0-0) v Jorlan Vieira (1-0)

Ser Gregor "The Mountain” Clegane is roughly the size of one. Tall and heavy, he’s gone against convention for super heavyweights and has been training hard on his BJJ skills. The native of Westoros needs a win to keep pace with the title contenders in the division. Jorlan "Pitbull" Vieira is not looking to just keep pace, but to climb to the top of the division. He won his QFC warm-up with an incredible performance, working exclusively out of the clinch and punishing his opponent at every opportunity.

Prediction: Clegane won’t be as easy to control. He pushes his way to a submission win.

265 lbs Lewis Palma (0-0) v Phuc Dat Bich (1-0)

The audacity of Palma’s name. We don’t know the backstory so we’re going to make one up. We believe he’s a bastard son of IXF’s own Louie DePalma and when he found out, vowed to make his father proud by winning the 265 pound title. Palma has a tough first assignment against Phuc Dat "Humongous" Bich, 1-0 after winning his QFC warm-up via submission. He has the clear advantage in BJJ and will look to carry that through this, his second fight.

Prediction: Palma makes his sponsors proud and pulls off an upset decision

205 lbs Johnny Clark (1-0) v Savage Opress (0-0)

Johnny Clark comes to IXF via Las Vegas, winning his QFC warm-up in style. He landed every one of the strikes he threw and mixed them up beautifully, earning the TKO halfway through the first round. His opponent, from the beautiful island of Comoros, is an MMA newcomer. Not much is known about Savage Opress, but he has a great team behind him and we expect him to come out strong.

Prediction: Clark can’t continue hitting 1.000 at the plate and his second fight opponent is far stronger. Opress wrestles his way to a win.

170 lbs Yeves The Soul Rapist (1-0) v Steve Cannson (1-0)

I guess if you’re going all-in as a bad guy, soul rapist headlines the resume. Yeves "Davids" The Soul Rapist knocked out a cell phone in his QFC warm-up to IXFII, going on the offensive with some solid ground and pound after being taken to the mat. Steve "Crawdad" Cannson won his 170 pound opener at IXFI against Polish Powaaah. Cannson’s ground game was nearly perfect and the BJJ purple belt expects the gameplan to work again. He’s been nursing an injury since IXFI and he may have to compensate.

Prediction: Cannson can’t hope to win this one if he can’t get to the ground. We think he will. Win via submission

185 lbs Ebubekir Siddik (0-0) v Joel Miller (0-0)

Neither fighter has a resume or background to look at, both being newcomers to the Island and to MMA Tycoon in general. The skills are polar opposites, Siddik preferring the stand-up against Miller’s wrestling and BJJ.

Prediction: This one will be quick one way or the other. We like Miller’s avatar so Joel Miller via 1st round submission.

170 lbs Sorrenco Cistiffufs (0-1) v Simon Trym (0-1)

Starting off the night is a 170 pound scrap between two losers. And by that, I mean two guys who haven’t won yet. Both lost their QFC warm-ups prior to joining IXF. Cistifuffs lost in ugly fashion, getting overaggressive in his takedown attempts before getting knocked down, rocked, cut and knocked down again. It was all over by 24 seconds. Trym managed to last longer, even opening the fight with a crisp combo, but the result was the same as he was TKO’d halfway through the first round.

Prediction: No one wants to start 0-2, but someone will. We think Cistifuffs overreaches again, getting popped and losing by KO.

Congrats to all who participated on todays IXF II event, we just barely missed hitting the 100 rating in our second event, smashed it on profits and soared up into the #1 ranking on the Island.  After only 2 shows is what amazes me the most!  Best of luck to those taking part on IXF III tomorrow heres to following up todays great results!!

Well Dawkins has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

https://mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=1039414

Fight Island ?️ really needs to get their athletic commission sorted out. The commentator and all spectators thought DeeJay won the first two rounds. And he scored a brutal knockdown in the third. What exactly are these guys scoring?

These judges STINK!!!

David Hoff is the only reliable judge on Fight Island!

(Thank you to Louie, Disney and IXF for the compensatory Fight of the Night bonus!)

IXF IV

Organization:     Island Xtreme Fighting

Date:     20 Mar 2021

City:       The Island (17:00 GMT)

Arena:   The Underground - The Island (1,000)

Oh my brothers, welcome to IXF IV. We’re moving on up out of dingy “Wild Bob’s” to the thousand-seat “The Underground” for this one. Can IXF fill it up? We’ll soon find out!

Main Event

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - New Car 39b12.jpg

185 lbs New Car (4-0) v Ache Guarani (1-0)

You won’t believe what’s behind door #1 … it’s "A" New Car! Fresh of his beat down at IXF II, Car is now sitting at 4-0 and is the top ranked fighter in the organization. All four of his victories have been (T)KO’s and the results are getting faster and faster. From 4 min 16 sec in his first fight to an overwhelming 11 seconds in the Main Event at IXF II against former #1 ranked fighter, Marcus Behnder. Ache "Republica" Guarani is next in line after Behnder dropped back to his natural 170 pound weight. He won submission of the night at IXF II, locking in a kimura and winning in 30 seconds over Wanderlei Nogueira.

Prediction: Can’t write more about this, conflict of interest. Guarani lasts longer than Behnder, but it’s a first round knockout for A New Car.

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Brook BrokovskyMixed Martial Arts Fighter - Mariusz Dominator

265+ Brook Brokovsky (5-0) v Mariusz Dominator (4-0)

Two rejected fighters take a shot at 265+ supremacy. Brook Brokovsky is five and oh after stomping through a five-fight QFC tour that saw him do a little of everything. Subs, knockouts, decision wins. Current manager, Liam Stead, saw more than enough to pick him up of the free agency pile and bring him to IXF. His opponent is Mariusz Dominator, also picked up in free agency, also undefeated. He won his first four fights doing a lot of ground work through the first three and then changing it up in the fourth. All that history is washed away now, however and they both start fresh with new managers in the Islands' top organization.

Prediction: Almost the exact same skill set, this one comes down to gameplans. Brokovsky has had one fight with his new manager so we take him via decision.

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Nick PianoMixed Martial Arts Fighter - Matthew Quigley

205 lbs Nick Piano (2-0) v Matthew Quigley (2-0)

Nick “All Natty” Piano is the younger brother of Syncity champion and #1 fighter in the world, Rick Piano. That’s a lot to live up to. He heads IXF IV’s Main event on the strength of two QFC TKO’s. A clinch specialist, he pummelled Borat Mustafa into retirement by connecting 70% of his shots over two fights, He wasn’t really tested defensively, but that should change in this fight. Matthew Quigley is a great signing for IXF and will help promote an already great 205 pound division. Quiqley won his QFC warm-up against rookie Jonas Sjodin and followed that up with a one-minute KO that retired Brandon Borello. He’s a very busy and accurate boxer. The matchup will pit two KO specialists against each other, who will come out on top?

Prediction: Clinch vs straight stand-up. Because I’ve never had personal success with a clincher, it’s Quigley here with a 2nd round KO.

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Snake JonesMixed Martial Arts Fighter - Angus McCloud

155 lbs Snake Jones (0-1) v Angus McCloud (1-0)

Snake Jones lost his opening IXF bout against one of the top ranked Island fighters via unanimous decision. It was an outcome never really in doubt, but he accounted himself well and should have come away with some learning points. He leaned heavy on the clinch and it did not work, completing only one out of 88 attempts. If he can learn from the positives, he’ll put up a good fight. Scotland’s own Angus McCloud won his only fight to-date and comes into IXF with the reputation of an excellent boxer with a big heart. He has only 20 seconds of Island experience, but the pedigree to succeed.

Prediction: Jones goes 0-2 after getting KO’d in round 1.

Undercard

155 lbs Antonio Gomes (0-1) v Issac Field (0-0)

Antonio "Piranha" Gomes lost his opener at IXFI in a close 29-28 decision to Hells No in a fight that could have gone either way … but didn’t. His ground game was subpar by his standards and it cost him the victory. He’ll look to improve on his success rate against newcomer Issac Field. The 25 year old from Manchester is new to the Island and has been training since the start of March for this bout. Word out of the Island’s Cozad gym say he’s building on his wrestling skills.

Prediction: Gomes is too good to fall to 0-2. Win via decision.

185 lbs New Home (3-0) v Jeb Freeman (0-0)

A New Home is taking on his first IXF challenge after going 3-0 in his QFC tour. He’s ready to challenge for the top of the 185 division already, winning his last two via knockout using incredible accuracy. Through three fights, he’s thrown an average of about 70 punches, an aggressive style which should suit this organization. Jeb Freeman is another Vlad Avdalov creation and it’s a tough matchup for the MMA newcomer. He’ll look to stay away from the stand-up game and hope to slow it down on the ground.

Prediction:  Jeb Freeman upsets the 185 hierarchy with a great submission win.

205 lbs Jhonny Boy (1-0) v Justin Sider (1-1)

Jhonny Boy begins his IXF journey near the top of the 205 division. A good wrestler with solid submission skills, he has the height and weight advantage heading into this fight, giving him the flexibility to loosen up his gameplan. Justin "In" Sider has similar skills to his opponent and comes off his QFC tour with mixed results. He easily won his first fight with some great ground skills, but got caught and cut in his second fight on way to a knockout loss.

Prediction: I feel dirty even typing Justin Sider … Jhonny Boy wins by submission.

205 lbs Rock Brown (1-0) v Johnny Cannons (1-0)

Winners at IXFI square off in this light heavyweight division. Rock Brown proved Don X correct and was able to submit Max Strasburg two minutes into the first round via guillotine. He had to work for it, keeping Strasburg honest before taking advantage of a mistake. Johnny "Warboner" Cannons pummelled Jin Dredd in 52 seconds, easily stuffing multiple takedowns to punch his way to a TKO victory. This will be a nice contrast in styles.

Prediction: Cannons makes it two wins in a row. It won’t be as easy, but we’re still calling for a KO victory.

265 lbs Jon Walker (1-0) v Zuki Nicodeme (1-0)

Jon Walker joins IXF after a brief QFC stint that saw him knockout John Bradly in 47 seconds. He’s a good counter fighter with KO power, though not a specialist in any discipline. Zuki "Nico" Nicodeme also won his first fight via knockout, also at the 47 second mark of the first round. He has a couple of years on his opponent which could also mean some increased skills.

Prediction: KO of the night here. Nicodeme in the first.

265+ lbs Kren Hawkins (0-1) v Arturo Vargas (1-0)

It doesn’t happen often, but this will be a re-match of a QFC fight on March 8th that saw Arturo "Raging Bull" Vargas KO Kren "Keejay" Hawkins in 40 seconds. With very little time between that fight and the matchup at IXF IV, the only thing changing will be the gameplanning. Hawkins is a brawler, but couldn’t use any of his inside skills as Vargas controlled the clinch from the start.

Prediction: Hawkins needs the win, but it won’t happen. Vargas is just too talented. KO

Prediction totals through IXF III - 6 wins, 9 losses. Awesome!!!!
