I once went like 1-3 in my first 4 fights and still finished 2nd. And I won the last season (or at least by my calculations) with a pretty bad start also EDIT - Just looked into it: In 2018 (two seasons ago) I did indeed go 1-3 and in fact became 1-4 before I started bouncing back. My final record was 29-20 and I finished 2nd overall. In 2019 (last season) I started out 2-2 then 3-3 so pretty average and finished with a record of 35-21 and won it (by my calculations). My fighter had mount/the back for most of the final round and half guard for the rest (apart from maybe 30 seconds), constantly getting close with submissions and yet she lost because of ground strikes from the bottom ? Really fucked me off because Stamann was robbed last week and I was looking at signing Spivak who had an excellent performance and now Vieira is robbed. I should be 7-1 right now not 4-2 I also can’t afford to sign anyone as a result of this bullshit While we’re here I may as well also mention I’m annoyed that Vieira wasn’t ranked #5 because Pena overtook her with her last win and went up to #5 when a fighter got released. That was part of my strategy and has robbed me of another $5k ($10k if it wasn’t for the robbery) and the potential to pick 1/2 additional fighters. EDIT - I can't remember the last time I shouted this much, my girlfriend's probably got a headache now. I should be grateful at least that I haven't been subject to too many other cancellations as that seems to be the order of the day at the moment. I do think we should re-consider my rule suggestion of awarding the show money to fighters who's opponent cancels on 24 hours notice, as last minute cancellations are becoming all too common now. Gator was subject to it last week and if anyone signed Chas Skelly they would've got the same. Skelly doesn't want to fight for a while now either because the weight cut took so much out of him, so even asked for a win bonus, but i think show money and not changing someone's record is fair and in line with what the fighter is getting in real life.
