How are fighters matched? Can I get an idea who my fighter might be matched against or hard to tell?

The winning coaches from today's event will choose the fights for next weekend. Its just like the Ultimate fighter only there is 8 coaches instead of two. I will post the remaining fighters soon, but you can always scout them by checking out the first post of the thread. If they haven't fought in week 1 then they will be fighting in week 3(Lightweights that is).

League of Madness Week 3 Lightweights "Preview"

                                                                                 LOM3.jpg

With Host Mister Madness

The LOM Tournament heads into week 3 with the remaining 8 Lightweight competitors looking to advance to the Quarter finals and get one more win in for there respective teams. Week 1 was a Submissions delight, while week 2 brought the PAIN with 4 straight KO finishes. What will be in store for this weeks LOM event? One thing is for sure this one looks stacked with talent. Lets get this Preview underway MISTER MADNESS style.

Match #1 Etimoni Founuku vs Captain Tessin

        Webp.net-resizeimage_1.jpg

Late replacement Etiomoni Founuku a strapping young lad was giving the option to have his opponent selected second this week and he and Coah Hardman selected Team Marky's remaining LW fighter Captain Tessin

Founuku hails from an Unknown region of New Zealand and has recently moved to the City that never sleeps to begin his MMA conquest. He is training at Xtreme Black House which is ran by his Manager Master Leader. Etimoni is a Brown belt in BJJ and will most certainly look to utilize his Jitz in this one.

Tessin will be looking to get Team Marky on the scoreboards after back to back losses. A native of Naples, Bulgaria, The Cap now calls Hilo, Hawaii his home where he trains with the rest of the Tessin gang and Head Honcho Master Tessin. Captain has a Superb wrestler and a Bulgarian brute to say the least.

Only one Master will prevail in this one gents!

Match #2 Frankie DeLuna vs Patrick Mahomes

       Webp.net-resizeimage_2.jpg

Team Clubber and Lightweight Frankie Deluna did not have many options to chose from but they felt there best option was Patrick Mahomes of Team Alfred.

With Team Clubber already advancing two fighters in Damnation and Rai, Deluna looks to make it 3 for 3. Frankie is originally from Antananarivo, Madagascar and has recently relocated to Rio de Janeiro as a he joins his Team and Manager Darren Russell at Alpha Brasil . DeLuna has a balanced attack but his ground game looks to be his strength.

His opponent will be Patrick Mahomes of St. Joseph, Missouri. Yes, the 2020 Superbowl MVP is now 18 years old and looking to be a future MMA champion. A pupil of Joe River, Mahomes now trains with the River team in New York at Rivers Edge Gym . Mahomes also has a Diverse skill set but looks to edge Frankie in the Standup.

This one i have a feeling wont go the distance(Of course not many have lol)

Match #3 Pierre Emerick Aubeaumeyang vs Truly Dangerous

         Webp.net-resizeimage.jpg

Team Billy got there first win last week and snatched the first fight selection in the process, Coach Billy choose Team McSweeney's remaing LW Truly Dangerous to face Pierre Emerick.

Pierre hails from Libreville, Gabon and has traveled to Montreal for his MMA training. Aubeaumeyang is a member of the Beau Banks fight team and has a vastly improving bag of tricks in his arsenal. Pierre is an average boxer but his ground game looks to be his bread and butter.

Truly Dangerous of Los Angeles, Califorina decided to leave Cali behind as he moved to Montreal to pursue a career in MMA. He started training at The Heart of the BloodBath gym where he met Benjamin Halle who instantly took a liking to the youngster. The Muay Thai specialist will need to to be truly dangerous and score the first win for his team in the process.

There could very well be a legit sleeper in this fight right here.

Match #4 Johnny Billabong vs Fili Disson

       Webp.net-resizeimage_4.jpg

The final two Lightweights will face off as Team Actions Fili Disson looks to pick up his teams first W but it wont be no easy task as he faces off with Johnny Billabong of Team King.

Billabong hopes to join his two teammates in the Quarter finals of LOM but he may have the hardest road of the three. Australian BJJ brown belt, Billabong comes from a very good team and is managed by a tycoon legend in G-Wadimus. Training at GWad's Playpen in Montreal, can "Jolly" Johnny keep the Team King run of dominance intact.

Fili is the brother of Birth of a Warrior contestant Kil Disson who also fights this weekend. He trains at his manager Don Xyel's gym in Las Vegas known simply as CT. Disson is a accomplished wrestler with a improving BJJ game, Grappling Coach Shelby Hancock of the CT gym told me he is similar to the Tazmanian Devisl in his small stature and relentless attacks.

I wont lie these two gents could have very well have been meeting in the finals but this is the kinda MADNESS, the League of Madness brings to the table.

Crucial week 3 as we head into the final week of Team Picks. are remaining Welterweights will be on the clock next as we look to head into the Quarter finals of the competition. Best of luck to all the fighters!

This has been a pleasure, don't forget to support your local jester MMA fans!

How are fight picks determined in quarterfinals? Fastest finishers get first pick?

I would like to just randomize it at this point, if there is no complaints? Easiest way possible.

Or just seed all by current W/C rank, probably even easier.

I wont lie the whole picking process has been a pain in my arse

If 2 guys from the same camp are in you’ll ensure they’re on opposite sides of the bracket?

I think it would be nice to share the whole 155 bracket when you can

LOM Lightweights: Week 3 Results & Review

1614110471ezgif.com-gif-maker_1.gif

With special host: Dr. Deranged
doctor

Greetings ladies and gentleturds, I'm Dr. Deranged. You'll know me as the tournament's official Doctor, Physio, Nutritionist, whatever! But today I'll be stepping in to review last night's LOM Lightweights - Week 3 card in Mister Madness' absence.

Word coming from the Madness Compound is that Mister Madness took one too many narcotics celebrating last night's successful card, and he's gone a bit haywire. Fear not, the Doctor has you covered! Let's get a-popping. YEOWWWW!

Etimoni Founuku def. Captain Tessin via Submission (Triangle) R1 02:26

Our first bout of the evening pitted a battle of Master vs Master, with Etimoni Founuku out of camp Master Leader coming up trumps. Interestingly, Tessin decided to go for a clinch heavy approach but was stopped in his tracks by a beautiful (or dirty - depending on where you stand) guard pull. Once the New Zealand native brought the fight to his world, it was only a matter of time before his Brown Belt credentials shone through. Tessin landed with some nice GNP from guard, but at his second attempt of a submission, Founuku wrapped up Tessin like a hot pretzel to book himself a place in the Lightweight Quarter Finals. The fastest finish of the night to boot. Congrats to Master Leader & Coach Hardman!

Patrick Mahomes def. Frankie DeLuna via TKO (Strikes) R1 02:41

Our second bout saw Patrick Mahomes dominate his opponent and pick up a first win for newly appointed Coach Alfred (who has seen a managerial resurgence himself as of late). Something peculiar to note is that DeLuna came in WAY under the Lightweight limit at a mere 123lbs, resembling one of those worms out of Men in Black. Our only explanation is that DeLuna snuck in to Dr. Deranged's clinic and stole what he thought was EPO in his preparation for the fight but ended up being estrogen extract. Nevertheless, Mahomes dominated for as long as it lasted, landing all but one of his strikes and sending DeLuna and his anorexic ass to the shadow realm. Congrats to Joe River & Coach Alfred!

Truly Dangerous def. Pierre Emerick Aubeaumeyang via TKO (Strikes) R1 03:26

Next up and completing a hat-trick of first round finishes was Truly Dangerous of Team McSweeney. Given the lad's name, we had high expectations of him and well, he delivered with aplomb. Truly Dangerous was definitely the more aggressive fighter here and prioritised head strikes. He hurt Pierre early with an overhand left before closing the show just past the 3-minute mark with some heavy GNP. Pierre Emerick Aubeaumeyang's fate was sealed and he was sent packing out of the Madness Mansion and back to the English Premier League where he belongs. Congrats to Benjamin Halle and Coach McSweeney on a quarter final spot!

Truly1

Johnny Billabong def. Fili Disson via Unanimous Decision (29-28 x3)

Our final bout of the evening had Mister Madness himself all hot under the collar. It was pitted as one of the most exciting & competitive fights in the entire tournament and it turned out to be exactly that. Disson set out to prove that BJJ belts mean jack shit, coming out like a bat out of hell in the first round and taking down Billabong. Disson managed to take Back Control for the majority of the first round but was unable to get the finish. The following two rounds saw Disson land takedowns but Billabong got the better of the transitions on the mat and did enough to sway the judges. Sources close to Johnny have informed me that grappling with Alligators in the leadup to the fight was the decisive factor. Billabong and coach King will be encouraged to have eliminated one of the tougher Lightweights in the tournament, congrats to Johnny!

Johnny4

And that's all she wrote ladies and gentleturds, Mister Madness will be back to confirm the Lightweight quarter final matchups in due course. Until then, the MADNESS continues this weekend in the Welterweight bracket with fight selections already underway. YEOWWWW!

League of Madness week 4 Preview "The Welterweights"

                                                                                   Webp.net-resizeimage_3.jpg

with Host Mister Madness

Are final opening Round, week of fights is now just a day away. As Team King and Team Hardman both look for a quad-fecta of wins, and Team Marky and Team Action look for there first. We almost forget that there is a whole different batch of fighters still waiting in the wings as 8 Hand selected fighters will be making there Madness debut's on April 4th along with the remaining Welterweight Quarter finalist. This 8 Middleweights will have had an additional month of training time and look to vie for the Madness Middleweight title. Today though we focus on are remaining 8 welterweights and what looks to be a very competitive final four bouts. With that said lets dive into this final open round event!

Match #1

                Team King                                         Team Marky

Cheeto.jpg  vs  Mike_1.jpg

              Cheeto Bean                                        Mike Nara

Kicking things off we will see Team Marky's last chance as the Teams first pick Mike Nara faces of with Team Kings Cheeto Bean

There was much speculation if this fight would even happen as it seems Cheeto Bean just vanished from the Madness Mansion. Was it Captain Chaos's magical fried chicken? No, in fact Cheeto was spotted with some ladies of the night in a local Nightclub just a few days before the Weigh inns. Better late then never, lets just hope his time away didn't reflect his mine set.

Mike Nara has been showing much improvement since he arrived here, and this boxer out of Tampere, Finland looks to give Coach Marky Mark the teams first win. There is also the unknown factor in play as Nara has not recorded a actual MMA fight in his career so the only thing we know is he will be bringing a nice set of skills, and some clean-cut good looks to the cage.

Cheeto Bean looks to be more of a wrestling based fighter from the Big Apple, which is also where he trains with the Money Mayweather team. Bean looked amazing in his Pro debut as he destroyed some QFC bum and displayed some very dynamic clinch striking abilities.

Team King results: Matija Maestro(Win), Derk Voorheis(Win), Johnny Billabong(Win)

Team Marky results : All American(Loss), Braydon Harms(Loss), Captain Tessin(Loss)

Match #2

          Team McSweeney                                 Team Billy

Flag-Brazil_1.jpg  vs  Flag-Argentina.png

      Coronnie James Dio                                 Javier Tapia

Are next fight is surely gonna be a psychedelic showdown as Team McSweeney launches there top pic in the cage as Coronnie faces of with Team Billy's final welterweight Javier Tapia. Both teams have had one fighter advance and are now hungry for another as they rely on two dangerous South Americans!

"Unholly" Coronnie James Dio is a fun loving man of peace by day, but by night he turns into a mad man. Dio is from Belo Horizonte, Brazil but now resides in New York as he is shacked up at the CHURCH OF ZOIDBERG TRAINING GROUNDS a odd cult like family. Coronnie may look to bring his Tie-dyed grappling pants for this one!

"The Hippie Lion" Javier Tapia is from Mar del Plata, Argentina and has recently relocated to London where he trains at Paris & Sons Training Yard . Tapia is also a well versed grappler who looks to in fact have the edge in the grappling department. Javier's only setback may be his lack of confidence.

Team McSweeney results: Subo Takens(Loss), TJ Romero(Loss), Truly Dangerous(Win)

Team Billy results: Jim Reefer(Loss), Troy Nguyen(Win), Pierre Emerick(Loss)

Match #3

               Team Alfred                                       Team Clubber

Madness_1.jpg  vs  David_1.jpg

          Madness Fighter                                     David Eagle

Next up is Team Alfred's final welterweight known simply as Madness Fighter as he looks to bring the team there 3rd win. He is matched up against Team Clubber's David Eagle who is also looking to clinch his teams 3rd victory if he can just stop taking photos of himself in the process.

Canada, Canada is his home and Hey Steves Fight Shack is his training grounds as Madness Fighter looks to put them both on the Map as he begins his career he was destined for. Fighter looks to have solid striking abilities, and Muay Thai most notably is his Specialty. Don't let his green beard fool you his favorite color is indeed Blood RED!

David "Golden" Eagle has been training hard since he landed at the Madness compound and my first impressions where truly wrong, Pretty boys must earn my respect and David has done that. He also may indeed be the biggest mystery of the whole LOM field as he has yet to have a pro fight and has showed such a well rounded background of striking and grappling, we really dont know what the game plan is with this guy.

Team Alfred results: Delightful Panda(win), Big Daddy(Loss), Patrick Mahomes(Win)

Team Clubber results: Jimmy Damnation(Win), Agansing Rai(Win), Frankie Deluna(Loss)

Match #4

           Team Hardman                                     Team Action

Julius_2.jpg  vs  Justin_2.jpg

                 Julius Lew                                           Justin Forfun

The final match up of the card might just be the most competitive of the Welterweight class as, Julius Lew of Team Hardman looks for a Clean sweep for his Team. He meets Team Action's replacement fighter Justin Forfun who looks to bring Coach Action his teams first win. Fun fact Team Action was my lowkey favorite to win this competition.

Julius "Juice" Lew is from Apopka, Albania and now lives and trains in New York at manager Johnny Lee's Fetus MMA gym(Kind of weird name, but i love it!). Lew is a Brown belt in BJJ, and we where treated with a little taste of his sub skills as he wrenched out a nice Americana submission victory at the LOM trials.

Justin Forfun is not really the name of a guy you are hopping to bring a W in with, but this Helsinki fighter is not to be slept on. A prospect of Manager Bloody guts, Justin is also a legit grappler and i expect this to be certified gold on the ground here. Forfun also has a notable win over fellow participant Javier Tapia in the LOM Trials so he is a proven winner.

Team Hardman results: Thiago Filho(Win), Diego Armando(Win), Etimoni Founuku(Win)

Team Action results: Darius Jackson(Loss), Terry Silver(Loss), Fili Disson(Loss)

A truly lovely way to end a MAD month of the League of Madness competition. I also wanted to let everyone know Douche McBaggins is on the piss again, but he will be back to cover the LOM competition for the Quarter Finals. As for myself i am going into the darkness for a while to train for my next fight.

When they call you crazy, remember that genius ideas don't come from average minds!
