  1. Shoutout to that time I took matter into my own hands, and ganked an entire store since the owner (at the time) was AWOL. Anybody link me something eventful that happened while i was gone? (anything between 2015-2019)
  2. *Since his return, our paths have crossed several times. From the hostile takeover of Hellbent, to the Steel Penn shootout, to several events here in Las Vegas and the opening of his new store, Conquer. We still have not managed to find time to really sit and discuss some things, in depth...until now. Jason Smith, JBomb, still resides in Las Vegas and even through all his success, he still chooses to live in a small house near Henderson. I never understood why he had such a tiny house before, and even though he did upgrade a bit, I still don't understand why he doesn't flaunt a bit more like his high rolling friends. When I got to his place, the grill had just been shut down and the food was ready. We sat down and ate, and per my request, he had almost his entire "crew" there. All of his fighters and coaches at his gym, The Lion's Den, were present and accounted for.The only people missing were the rest of Team Conquer, Sean McDonnel, Blunts Allday and Saint Vincent, who has recently gone AWOL and has been of some concern. Also missing was JBomb's clothing partner, and official owner of Conquer, Harry Gorilla. Harry Gorilla, more commonly known as "Minark" has other obligations with Convicted Inc. and is rarely in the same place as JBomb. Somehow, they work well together with the current system they are using and both men have assured me that it's a smooth ship they're running. While eating in the backyard, an impromptu bench press contest broke out between Bobby Helix and former CrossFit Games champion, and current "JayFit" coach at The Lion's Den, Jason Khalipa. This immediately got the guys riled up and soon after, Rolen Spliffs and Phil DeBlunt were taking bets. Eventually, Khalipa won out and everyone was back to laughter and beer. We adjourned to the living room to talk and most of the crew went about their business and were in and out of the room, but not distracting. Not much can distract JBomb once you get him going...basically an easy interview for me.* Reporter: "Jason, finally!" JBomb: "I know, right!? Sorry, I'm just tryin' to get my feet on solid ground here before I start yappin' my trap." Reporter: "No worries, we're finally here, haha. Okay how's the return been so far?" JBomb: "It's been good. I got a great mix of young talent along with veteran leadership, great friends and great coaches. Two businesses under my belt really keep me busy but it's all worth it when we rack up those wins." Reporter: "Speaking of your roster and this young talent, how about giving us a rundown of some of these youngsters?" JBomb: "Sounds great! Wanna drink first?"...*waves over to Brad Helix who heads over with a couple of beers*... Reporter: "Sure..."...*takes beer, cracks it open for a big gulp*... JBomb: "Okay, we'l' start with the newest then: http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/32/32w26.jpg "You know Reuben's dad pretty well, Eaton Cox. When I heard about The Ultimate Manager, I immediately called Eaton to see what he thought about Reuben possibly going pro. I really felt that TUM would be a great showcase for Reuben and a possible springboard for his career. Eaton being the father he is, really struggled because while it could springboard, it could also really destroy a career pretty damn quick. I assured him that his son would be fine and at some point, he has to let go and let the chips fall where they may. Reuben chose a life of MMA and that has to start somewhere. What better place for it to start than with me, right?" Reporter: "So he's fought before?" JBomb: "Not professionally, no. He's a sick fighter though, very good ground game and his standup, while crude, is being worked on with some of the best of the best. I'm really confident in his abilities and he is a joy to work with in the gym...one of the smartest kids I've ever met." Reporter: "I saw that his TUM opponent, Booyakasha has been pretty vocal about their fight so far." JBomb: "Yeah, I saw that too. That idiot better be able to fight better than he speaks." Reporter:...*laughs*..."Most definitely, so on to Will Davenport?" JBomb: "Absolutely! Ill Will: http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/32/32b1.jpg "He's another youngster that I threw into a tournament early on. Dick Offenhard calls me one day and says that he knows this kid from Reno that's been training out in Brooklyn, NY. I guess one of the Wu-Tang Clan guys co-owns a gym out there and Will was just rockin' people left and right. Dick got the word and sent me his info. I got a hold of him and we signed him up real quick. This kid is real raw though. He's super talented and has a good chin, but in his 2nd fight of the tournament, his inability to break out of the clinch was his downfall. We've since worked on a nice strength program for him and he is now deadlifting 400+ with ease. Khalipa has really done a nice job with him and I can guarantee that he will not be bullied anymore physically, that's for sure. Reporter: "He'll need it considering he's a muay thai grappler." JBomb: "Yeah, he's definitely a grinder. Don't worry, he's good to go now. He's studying with Offenhard, learning Wu-Fu." Reporter: "That sounds..." JBomb:...*takes a drink*..."Fuckin' gay as fuck, I know! Hahaha! Shit works though, man." Reporter: "What all does it cover?" JBomb: "Kind of a cross between Kung-Fu and...wait...nevermind all that, we got a Helix boy next!: http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/30/30w5.jpg "Billy is the 2nd youngest of the Helix brothers. He's also the smallest, at 150 walk around, and he just might be the most confident fighter I've ever seen in my life. Anthony Abaddon was about as cocky as it comes, too but this kid...he takes the cake. Maybe because he's one of the youngest in the bunch? Who knows but I know this, like his brothers, he is a great wrestler. Their whole family is, it's uncanny. Now, he's fairly difficult to work with in the gym. He's so set in his wrestling background that he has difficulty grasping other ideas and concepts. Not saying he's a retard or anything like that, but compared to his brothers, he lacks that learning ability to make that wrestling a strong base for something greater. Thing is though, when I watch him fight, I see something that I don't see in his brothers...and in my eyes, that makes him a very dangerous individual." Reporter: "What is it you see?" JBomb: "I don't know...just that...'it factor' that I didn't see with Bryant or Brett." Reporter: "They're both coaching for you now, right?" JBomb: "Yeah, and Brad also." Reporter: "Billy just signed with Ruthless Bane, correct?" JBomb: "Yeah, but dude changed the name. It's call Sin City Fighters Underground now." Reporter: "Decent upstart org, huh?...*finishes beer and sets it down*... JBomb: "Yeah, there's a couple of them. I got a couple of guys in a joint called RISE. Speaking of...Rukah Padero fights there: http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/12/12w1.jpg "Rukah Padero is a scrappy little guy from Chicago. He got his start with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for some self defense and he just really developed a passion for it. He is now studying Budda-Jitsu with Herb Green and Rolen Spliffs. he's mastered Green Meditation and is working for his Green belt right now. So far, he hasn't been out of the 1st round, winning both of his fights by submission, the last one off the opponent's takedown...bad move, haha!" Reporter: "How do you say his name?" JBomb: "It's actually Rukah like Luka...'i live on the second floor'...remember that song? Anyways, we got a lot of burners over here so they all like to joke about that Brazilian shit where the 'R' makes an 'H' sound...like the Gracie's n' shit. Everybody here calls him 'Hookah'!"...*laughs and finishes his beer*... Reporter: "Haha! Funny you mention that song. I haven't heard it in years. He's a 19 year old ground whiz, huh?" JBomb: "Oh man...hell yeah. I mean, he needs to learn some standup and we haven't quite figured out if he's better at boxing or muay thai so he's just been learning the basics of both and then we'll go from there. There's not much hurry yet and he is still developing his ground game as well. This kid is far from his max so watch out, we might be seeing the next Palhares here, haha!" Reporter: "Pluto or Rousamir?" JBomb: "Both! Hahaha! Although I am partial to Pluto. Shame about Rousamir though, tough break but damn, how may times do you need to be warned, ya know?" Reporter: "Definitely..." JBomb: "Kenny Clack is another kid I threw into a tournament real quick: http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13754188663672.jpg "Kenny's from up north, Tacoma to be exact. He's another wrestler that I actually brought in to work with Helix but then ended up throwing him into a tournament out in goddamn Amsterdam, of all places. He fought so well in his debut but gassed in the final round and his opponent went crazy tryin' to get him to tap. Dude's got major heart and fought off a grip of submissions but got hit with an armbar late. Even though there was only 5 sec. left in the fight, he knew it was sunk in enough to break his arm and rather than play hero, he was forced to tap out and fight another day. It was a bitter out in that tournament but had his arm broke, he wouldn't have been able to continue on anyway and would've jeopardized his career. He made a smart move, even though the ego will fight that tooth and nail. I always tell my guys to make smart decisions. You're career is much more important than a prize, money or some tournament. I mean, when your older? Sure...but starting out, you don't want to put your career on hold because of a broken limb from not wanting to tap out." Reporter: "Good heart, seems fairly smart also...good combo." JBomb: "Yeah, he had it rough as a kid. I know Tacoma isn't known for being rough but when you're 9 years old and taking care of 2 younger sisters and a younger brother, it doesn't really matter where you're at. He had to get street smart real quick, and he did. He also had to toughen up real quick, this kid was not coddled in any way, shape or form." Reporter: "He looked good in his next 2 fights, even though he got knocked out in his most recent outing...he did dominate the 1st round." JBomb: "Yeah, again there was strength and conditioning issues. He punched himself out of the fight, essentially. Got a bit too excited without being able to finish. We've been working on his patience a bit lately and obviously we've got him started on a strength program as well."...*receives and answers a text message*..."Sorry 'bout that. Next up is:" http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/11/11w7.jpg "Shane Ripgut is Sean's younger brother. He's not as uncontrollably loud as Sean, nor is he as crude and crass...but he is every bit as crazy as his older brother. He's damn big, too...and strong as a fuckin' ox! His ground game is a major weakness at the moment but he's been working on it." Reporter: "What happened to the deal at SYN?" JBomb: "Not sure, I don't get it really. I mean, we signed there in an attempt to help bolster a real roster by bringing up fighters through the ranks and suddenly, they decide they wanna run like a minor league deal with SYNEuro? I mean, what's the point? That was always the problem with SYN before Louie got there...the fact that they had no real roster, it was all superfight, hired gun types and then a few fillers. Eventually, when the superfight capability wore off, and all those other fighters had obligations at their true orgs, SYN was left with virtually no roster, or at least a poor one, and fell hard. I can't help but think that this will happen again if they don't 'raise' some new talent within the org." Reporter: "So is SYNEuro a 'feeder' org/minor league or do they just need some fighters out there also?" JBomb: "Well, if it's not minor league/feeder, why force one of your youngsters to miss training time between fights by flying him halfway across the world to fight? Why not just bring him up in Vegas? There's other shit going on here and it's not about brining up new talent, it's about rankings and hype and dollars and bullshit...always is, always will be. We should have known better, but it is what it is and Ripgut will thrive regardless of location." Reporter: "So is there beef now with you and SYN?" JBomb: "Absolutely not. Don't be an idiot. I just might be the most loyal SYN fan there has ever been, which is probably why I am so concerned. Anyways...we got another Helix boy coming up...this time, Brandon:" http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/30/30w18.jpg "Brandon just may be the best wrestler out of all of them, but he dropped out of college so he doesn't have all the accolades that his older brothers have. He's a very hard worker though, just like his brother Brad, who he worked with doing drywall for a few years. Also, for his age, he's got the best Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu out of all of his brothers. He's totally unproven, never had a fight in the octagon...but I think he'll do just fine. I just signed him to Dominance out in New York City. I think he's gonna turn a few heads out there real soon." to be continued...
