  1. The OWSA team got off to a strong start entering TWGC with three of our competitors making it into the next stage with one extremely narrow defeat, 3 (2s)-1 (ts). Recap- Starting off we have the sole defeat as young Chuck Anderson went against BJJ brown belt Philip Roth, the match begun as expected with a quick takedown and for the first several minutes Chuck was scoring points and threatening with subs however Roth began to up his urgency in the last seconds of the match and caught Chuck with a triangle choke with two seconds remaining causing Chuck to go to sleep. Points before submission 28 to 6, in favor of Chuck Review- Overall a blue belt against a brown belt was always going to be a tall order. Chuck showed great wrestling and improved BJJ which is what we can hope for, he made a mistake and will learn from it and going over 14 minutes is a great experience. Now he has signed with SSG and we at OWSA look forward to his growth. Recap- Next up Logan Snyder went up against Chuck Bomba a blue belt with quality MMA experience. Logan had initial failings securing the takedown, Mr Bomba did well to counter into clinches where eventually he pulled guard, this at the OWSA team is not the worst case scenario but was not ideal either, Logan then executed a perfect gameplan finding side control then mount and the finishing armbar. Points before submission 5 to 0, in favor of Logan Review- Overall an expected win due to the difference in belts and the similar wrestling ability. Logan showcased a great ability to transition and showed intelligent confidence to go for the armbar from mount. His next match is against Bjorn Ironside, a purple belt who too is coming off an armbar victory in similar fashion, this should be a very competitive matchup in Round 2. Recap- In the sole decision victory Bo Brands defeated Joe Moon, blue belt with weaker wrestling. Bo was quick to get the takedown then moved to half guard quickly he then got mount, back and attempted many submissions after several minutes Joe reversed the position, Bo quickly returned to favor with a sweep eventually got the back again then was reversed sweeped nicely again then got the back for the remainder of the match looking for subs. Points 29-4, in favor of Bo Review- Ultimately a strong one sided points victory with no real danger throughout, lack of ability to lock in a sub is expected due to lack of BJJ experience from those at OWSA especially for our young competitors. Two reversals by Joe never a real threat and quickly rectified however something OWSA team will work on in the future with Bo. Next up Bo takes on Blue River coming off a dominant submission win, which for a white belt is impressive however from study it seems Bo should have a clear advantage in his wrestling and BJJ. Recap- Last match another submission, and armbar this time as Kyle Gable tooks on Lars Phantom. Lars started off with a takedown into guard, not the best start for Kyle however with our older competitors (Kyle and Logan) we are more welcoming to it. Gable quickly landed a sweep then took side control followed into mount then like Logan found the armbar. Points before submission 7-2, in favor of Kyle Review- Losing two points early is not the best start but Kyle impressed the OWSA team with a quick sweep then found mount for the drilled armbar. Next up Kyle takes on Rylan Wheeler a successful MMA fighter coming off a submission victory, Rylan showed holes in his performance but also a lot of danger both are purple belts with similar wrestling, it is another difficult matchup. Overall OWSA team is proud of all of our competitors each showcased their elite wrestling and improving BJJ. For a team of wrestlers going into another sport the success reflects the hard work of our wrestlers and the strength of wrestling as a foundation for any martial art. Tomorrow Round 2 will be Recapped and Reviewed.
  2. Like we already have on "search.php" page: Fighter hype: to (scale measuring hype is 1 to 1000) Fighter KT hype: to (scale measuring hype is 1 to 1000) Will be good to have field for grappling hype on searching page same like we have for MMA and KT hype
  3. Title is self explanatory. This would be useful especially when org owners/matchmakers are struggling to come up with a last fight to fill up a card. it could either kill KT orgs for good or help spark KT up again. as it is right now, IMO it's worth the risk because KT is almost dead anyway.
  4. RISE Fight League in Los Angeles is under new management and as part of the new management's efforts to revitalize the flagging organization, we will be having a recruitment drive for all of the weight classes but particularly so for our Super-Heavyweight division which is open to all 330K+ ID grapplers and all fights will be under TWGC rules. There is plenty of opportunity here to make a run at the title and sit like a titan at the head of one of the only grappling only divisions in the game. So, if you find this prospect titillating, then send me a PM in game and we can work out the particulars. Hope to see you there. P.S. We are also recruiting for all of our other weight classes and those are 325K ID restricted and MMA + Cage format fights. So, I will engage with you in contract negotiations if you wish to join RISE's regular MMA roster as well.
  5. 2 more fighters to run TWGC, come on guys
  6. Are there any plans to allow grappling or BJJ orgs? Or something like them, perhaps an option to have fights with grappling or BJJ rules within an org, as with KT options? I also think a game-wide competition would be cool, even if it's a one-off or yearly thing. It sort of harkens back to the early days of MMA when you had guys like Gracie or Severn coming in with solid BJJ or Wrestling...I've had mixed success with guys who are really strong in a single discipline, but I am a new manager so take it with a grain of salt.
  7. Follow the road to greatness of this young, talented brazilian ex convict here
  8. It's been a while since we had a TWGC. Was wondering if there were plans to have another one soon? If so, what weight divisions would they be?
  9. Not sure if this was asked before, so i will ask here. I was just wondering that when entering TWGC and if you have multiple fighters in the same division and weight class, are the brackets still random? Do you go to opposite sides of the brackets or is it random and you have a chance of facing your own guy? Reason i ask is that in the next few tournaments, i have a few guys in the same division and weight class and if i make it far enough and they are to meet i would like it to be as late as possible in the tournament. Cheers...
  10. We'll just do one weight division this time to test out the new scoring system. Pick a division

  12. So then, I've started programming the grappling only modifications for the fight engine and we need to nail down some bits and pieces. The idea is to have a game-run (i.e. not in any orgs), grappling only submission championships run once every 3 months, with city based regionals then a global final. We would have different weight class and different belt divisions, with obviously trophies for the winner. 1. What are we calling this? TWGC sounds pretty good. Any other suggestions? 2. I have it set so that we're standing up as we start and I've auto-altered the sliders so that we do 100% grappling. It still leaves counter vs aggressor, clinch vs fight outside, counter clinch vs counter takedown, takedown vs standing up, all as they are, so you have tactics in terms of how to get it to the ground. Likewise in the clinch I have left all grappling based sliders as is. 3. Points scoring: I have put it as 20 min round, whole fight scoring. I know there are set point scoring in ADCC (at least I think there are) e.g. x points for a guard pass etc. We could do that, or we could leave as whole fight, under the current scoring engine. 4. I need a new tale of the tape and a new fight imperial stats background, if anyone wants to do that. I'll give you 3 months VIP for a really good one. Also, what should we be displaying in the TOTT? 5. How many people do we reckon we're gunna have involved in this? Let's say we do one every 3 months. There are 8 weight divisions, 12 cities, 6 belt colours. That in itself is 576 different starting points. Maybe we need to do a couple of weight classes and a couple of belt colours each go around? Any other general points welcome.
  13. *Herb shakes hands with Boy as Boy exits the cage* Commentator: "I'm here with the winner, Herb Green!" ...*applause*... Commentator: "Herb, this wasn't your first 'grappling only' tournament win, do you feel your experience in the Steel Penn tournament helped you at all?" Green: "Absolutely it did." Commentator: "You flew out here early expecting to fight on the 1st and things got delayed. What did you do to pass the time because it really looked like you remained very sharp." Green: "Well, to be a Budda-Jitsu Master, you must first master the art of 'Green Meditation'. Only then, can one achieve the true power and clarity that is required of Budda-Jitsu." Commentator: "Well, you got Wiley Swagger up next. Any words for Wiley?" Green: "No one knows the Swagger boys like JBomb...we'll be ready." ...*applause*... Commentator: "Congratulations on a big win and good luck in the next round...everybody, give it up for "Sticky" Herb Green!" *Herb exits the cage to a roar of cheers and 420 signs*
