  1. StrikeForce Union #3 20/02/2016 Paddy O’Malleys Bar London This is my first time writing a preview and it is an honour to do so because ladies and gentlemen, we have a great event lined up for you. Without further ado: Marcus Pereira vs Davie Joyce Botond Robert vs Harry Winston Dmitry Boitsov vs Akoni Gray Magnus Looped vs John Winkle Djin Kvasir vs Henry Collins Dre Gore vs Vincenzo Crescenzo Angus Bryant vs Jacob Frye Jeff Roberts vs Jose Hernandez Rodney Smith vs Nathan Griffin Jeremy Hammond vs Remus Sala Jeremy Hammond (MMA 0-1-0 , SFU 0-0-0) vs Remus Sala (MMA 1-0-0 , SFU 0-0-0) We kick off proceedings with the lightest division and two SFU debut fighters looking to make an impression. These fighters experienced very different starts to their careers with Hammond losing via a unanimous decision and Sala destroying his opponent in the first round via TKO. It is Hammond however that is clearly the better boxer here and needs to stamp his authority from the onset. He has the power. More power than Snap! But his opponent from Romania has a significant height advantage that cannot be overlooked. Sala's 172cm to Hammond's 160cm could very well affect the outcome of this fight. Since his MMA debut loss, Hammond has been seen training at the illustrious London MMA Club as he pushes on, looking for that first win. We don't think he gets it here though. Remus Sala has shown a level of technique far beyond his 18 years. This kid is going places but to get there he will have to go through Jeremy Hammond first. Dave's Prediction: Remus Sala via Unanimous Decision Rodney Smith (MMA 5-0-0 , SFU 0-0-0) vs Nathan Griffin (MMA 2-0-1 , SFU 1-0-1) It is always exciting when an undefeated fighter steps into the cage and even more exciting when #1 meets #2 in the weight division. The signing of Rodney Smith is a great coup for SFU but there will be no honeymoon period as he will come face to face with Fight of the Night winner and SFU veteran Nathan Griffin. This will be Griffin's third fight with SFU in as many events. He has been here since the beginning and has established his dominance in the 155lbs division. Critics suggest that Rodney Smith has only fought "bums" up to this point but you can only beat what is put in front of you. And Smith has done just that. Each and every time. The crowd may prove to be a major factor in this one as Smith fights in front of his hometown. He is a submission specialist winning four out of his five wins in such a manner and we believe the streak will continue at SFU #3. Dave's Prediction: Rodney Smith via Submission Jeff Roberts (MMA 7-2-0 , SFU 1-1-0) vs Jose Hernandez (MMA 4-4-0 , SFU 1-1-0) Jeff Roberts loves to fight. He is a wrestler and a former champion in the Elite Canadian Fighting Championship. It remains to be seen whether he can recapture past glories here at StrikeForce Union. Not only did he become a champion but he went on to defend his belt twice and never lost it, only for the company to close down. Both of these fighters lost at SFU #2 to a submission and will be looking to get back on track with a win here. In a stacked 170lbs division, Roberts can propel himself towards a title shot with a victory over Hernandez. This is Portugal vs. Spain folks. A bitter rivalry since the 18th century. Rumours have it that thousands of Spaniards will be making the trip to London in support of Hernandez and most of which will be women. Jose "Womanizer" Hernandez will be hoping that they will find their way to his hotel room and he can fight his way to a victory. Dave's Prediction: Jeff Roberts via TKO Angus Bryant (MMA 2-1-0 , SFU 1-1-0) vs Jacob Frye (MMA 0-1-0 , SFU 0-0-0) It's muay thai vs. boxing. It's Scotland vs. England. Two fighters with very good chins in what is going to be an all out war. Angus Bryant will be looking to move on from the humiliating first round loss to inaugural champ Botond Robert in his last fight. He talked the talk but he certainly did not walk the walk. If he is looking for an easy comeback fight, he doesn't have one here. Jacob Frye is a remarkable boxer and has been training hard since he decided to become a fighter at just eighteen years old. Now nineteen, Frye has a chance to continue his learning curve against a former title challenger. It will be interesting to see how the 38 second KO affected Bryant going forward. When you get knocked out that fast that brutally, something changes within you. You hesitate. And that may just be enough for Frye to pull off the win. Dave's Prediction: Jacob Frye via Unanimous Decision Dre Gore (MMA 2-1-0 , SFU 0-0-0) vs Vincenzo Crescenzo (MMA 3-1-0 , SFU 1-1-0) Dre Gore was never supposed to be here. Ten years ago he was on the streets of London, looking for a job. And now ten years later he will be fighting an important, meaningful fight at SFU #3. A fight that will have repercussions for the 205lbs division. Everyone told him he wouldn't make it as a fighter. He has fought in car parks. Basements. But he has never fought Vincenzo Crescenzo. All three of Crescenzo's wins have come via TKO and the Italian's superb wrestling skills should see him through this fight in similar fashion. Dave's Prediction: Vincenzo Crescenzo via TKO Djin Kvasir (MMA 4-8-0 , SFU 0-1-0) vs Henry Collins (MMA 4-1-0 , SFU 0-0-0) "...and I will strike you down..." David said to Goliath. The famous story of the underdog. Fast forward to SFU #3 and we have another David vs. Goliath scenario. Henry Collins is meant to win this fight. He is one of the best fighters on the SFU roster and it is surely only a matter of time before he gets his title shot. Sometimes that pressure can be too great for a man. Complacency starts to creep in and you present opportunities to your opponent. Kvasir is no pushover. He recently went on a four fight win-streak winning all four via submission. Both fighters are purple belts in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu so Kvasir "The Snake" may have to find another way to win this time. Collins is a former champion at the now defunct Red Star Fighting picking up two Of The Night awards in the process. Training at one of the best gyms in London, Red Tri-Angle, Collins is ready to stake his claim as the best. Dave's Prediction: Henry Collins via KO Magnus Looped (MMA 3-2-0 , SFU 1-1-0) vs John Winkle (MMA 2-0-0 , SFU 2-0-0) At SFU #1 John Winkle won the Sub of the Night award. At SFU #2 Magnus Looped won the Sub of the Night award. That's right ladies and gentlemen, this will be a fantastic fight. These fighters have a common past opponent in Jeff Roberts but only Winkle managed to win. At 2-0-0 and with both fights coming in SFU, Winkle is off to a great start with the organisation. He may feel slightly aggrieved by being ranked lower than the very fighter he beat not long ago. If he wins this fight, it will be a crushing blow to his critics. But it just feels like Looped has more tools at his disposal. He is the superior boxer and wrestler in this match-up. Dave's Prediction: Magnus Looped via Submission Dmitry Boitsov (MMA 0-0-0 , SFU 0-0-0) vs Akoni Gray (MMA 0-1-0 , SFU 0-0-0) In Gray's previous and sole fight, he did not see the spinning backfist coming. And now at SFU #3 he does not know what to look for because Dmitry Boitsov is an unknown quantity. Without a single fight to his name, Boitsov will be looking to explode on the MMA scene. We have to believe that he will want this fight to play out on the ground where his brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will help. Even though Gray has fought before, it was only for thirty seconds. He did not get the chance to showcase his talent and what a talent it is. His muay thai is wonderful. He is a competent boxer. And is even proficient at wrestling. All this at the age of just nineteen years old. Dave's Prediction: Akoni Gray via Unanimous Decision Botond Robert (MMA 5-0-0 , SFU 2-0-0) vs Harry Winston (MMA 3-0-0 , SFU 1-0-0) Yes Botond Robert is the Middleweight Champion but perhaps more importantly, he is the face of StrikeForce Union right now. Our first champion and a great one at that. He has an army of followers that only grew with his devastating knockout of Angus Bryant at SFU #2. The Hungarian is an unlikely champion. He still trains at the relatively inexpensive Cozad Amsterdam and chooses to avoid the flashy clothes that other fighters opt for. His purpose isn't to look good. It's to win. And he has managed to do just that throughout his career thus far. Harry "Opie" Winston can relate. He is also undefeated after three fights winning twice via TKO and once via submission. It's this versatile approach that makes him one of the best fighters in SFU and a genuine threat to the champion's reign. If Robert exudes a relaxed nature, Winston is the polar opposite with his sheer determination to win. He will stop at nothing to win such is his desire to be the best. Somebody's '0' must go folks and whoever has the belt around their waist would have fully deserved it. Dave's Prediction: Botond Robert via Unanimous Decision http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20160104200112rsz_pizapcom14519372242052.jpg Marcus Pereira (MMA 5-0-0 , SFU 0-0-0) vs Davie Joyce (MMA 1-1-0 , SFU 0-0-0) Fans have been looking forward to this moment ever since Marcus Pereira signed for StrikeForce Union and now we finally get to see him in action in our Co-Main Event. Pereira is the #1 P4P fighter within the organisation and enters with a lot of hype. Will he live up to it? He is a gigantic hippopotamus of a man weighing in at 324 lbs. We can judge his weight all day long but the fact is, nobody has been able to beat him up to this point. He is surprisingly quick for such a large man and is a pleasure to watch fight. The crowd at Paddy O'Malleys Bar should enjoy it while they can because at one point it looked like we will never see Pereira fight again. Doctors told him he should retire due to high levels of cholesterol. A few years later and a change in manager, Pereira is back. Not only has he won every fight via submission, but his opponent has never made it past the first round. Enter Davie Joyce. This fighter can do it all with competent boxing and muay thai as well as a decent ground game. To be the best you have to beat the best and Joyce will be looking to do just that at SFU #3. Can he write his name in the history books? Dave's Prediction: Marcus Pereira via Submission. Dave Ashbourne StrikeForce Union - Writer

  2. Date: 2/14/16 Location: Hilo-Big Kahuna Arena Event: SP-ICON Media Scrum SP-ICON OFFICIAL: Hello everyone, thanks for coming on such a short notice and such a lovely (no pun intended) holiday. We have a very special announcement. We’ve promoted writer, Justin Credible to help run the company, assist with daily operations: Match Making, Recruitment, Renegotiations, etc.… So without further ado, I present to you, Justin Credible! *10 Minute Applause* Justin Credible: Wow, thanks guys. First things first, we’ll keep this on the short I know we have wives, husbands, girl and boyfriends waiting, I know this is a major announcement and you have some questions… So I’ll give the floor to you, just raise your hand and the mic will be passed to you. Media: You used to be the preview writer, what qualifies you to help with daily operations? JC: Fair question. I’m still going to be doing the write-ups that hasn’t changed. I also used to run a fight org. in Montreal named UEC a few years ago before I had to take some personal time off, but I assure you I’m back now and ready to help SP-Icon achieve the same success we did. Media: What prompted the promotion? JC: I reached out to Steel Penn himself and in our meeting I voiced some concerns about events being booked on the same day, without proper matches being lined up and all of the expiring contracts not being addressed, and he agreed with me that the best course of action would be for me to come aboard in a bigger role. Media: Have you spoken with CEO Mickey Hart, and what are his thoughts? JC: I have not yet, but I’m sure he’ll be on board with it. Listen running an entire organization can be very stressful and overwhelming at times, I’m here in a helping capacity, that’s all. Mickey and I will sit down and talk and get our roles defined. For now I’m handling contract renegotiating and finding fighters to sign to our more shallow divisions. Media: There have been reports that some managers do not like Mickey Hart, and he has a reputation of being a little hostile, does that worry you? JC: Not at all….. If he’s hostile he’s hostile, we’ll just have our meeting in a cage. *Media laughs* But seriously all of the managers who prefer not to deal with Mickey can deal with me directly, like I said I’m here to build bridges, not burn them. I’m going to personally reach out to any managers and fighters who have a bad taste in their mouth to see what I can do to rectify the situation. Media: What is your next move to improve this org. as a whole? JC: Well first it’ll be to get some damn event posters up, and start our smack talk forums back up, get these fighters talking, and I’ll be making my presence known on social media (Buzz) quite often to garner some interest in SP-ICON. *We’ll take 2 more questions then we’re done, I have a hot date* Media: Are you worried about ruffling any feathers with this new promotion? JC: I’ll stick with the bird metaphors as well by saying, you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. I’m sure the transition will be a little tough but give it some time and let the people watch SP-ICON return to its glory days. Media: What is your message to the fighters/managers and what is your official position? JC: Well we haven’t discussed position titles yet, but my message to the fighters/manages is as follows: I know there has been some animosity built up and some things were said, but allow me to right some of those wrongs and get the ball rolling in the right direction. I have complete faith that between Steel Penn, Mickey Hart, and I we have an amazing staff that is capable of taking this organization to the top. We’ll be renegotiating with our expiring contract fighters, so if you feel the offer I’ve sent isn’t right, just throw me a counter offer and we’ll go from there. Any questions, concerns, or comments don’t hesitate to message me. Thanks for your time guys, enjoy the day, and get some booty! Justin Credible, OUT!

  3. Broken or not I think that depends on the manager. I too suck with the ground sliders but I know managers who dominate with them so clearly they are doing something everyone else isn't Lets assume you get the takedown into full guard, that's the default position where the top guy is slighly the favourite because he has top position but is otherwise considered a neutral position in the game. From here you can really get to any other position but it's less chance to get to a great position like full mount, which is the best position (or the back depending on how you see things) The normal order however is: fullguard --> half guard -- > side control --> full mount ---> back (if the opponant rolls over) but like I said, you can go straight from full guard --> full mount too but it's less likely and often comes from opponant making a misstake and you countering it. Here you can find the ground hierarchy aswell as some instructions: http://www.mmatycoon.info/index.php?title=Fight_tactics http://www.mmatycoon.info/images/a/a7/Ground_hierarchy.gif So the way it works is that it first looks at your Aggressive vs counter slider to determine if you are going to do a move or not. From the image you can see all offensive moves are done from aggressive standpoints. I'm going to try and walk you through the hierarchy and see if we can make it a bit more clear. From aggressive standpoint Your fighter is looking to make a move, he is being the aggressive - Opponant will there for be in defensive mode looking to possibly counter Before your fighter does anything the game looks at the stay on ground or get up - This is not an absolut slider meaning 50% stand up will not generate a stand up every other move. But the higher the get up the higher chance that he will try and attempt to get up. If he does try to get up the aggressive move is over. He either gets up or he fails. If the move was stay on ground he'll get to the next step. Finish Vs Control. If he uses control he will look to tie up his opponant, this can be good for various reasons but essentially you are making a defensive move from an active position. You are trying to control your position, your opponant etc. If this move is done the aggressive action is completed and done. if finish was performed in the previous step instead of control your fighter will now look at if he will attempt to throw strikes or improve his position. Now we are at the layer where your fighter actually preforms an action activly on the ground. If your fighter uses advance position he now looks to try and improve his position from whatever position he is in. from top his next most likely move would be to try and advance into half guard or side control depending on his success. He could go to mount but it's not very likely. Once this is done his action is over. Your fighter decided to go for a strike/sub in the previous step - He now is looking to do some damage. This aswell is not an absolute slider and going for submissions having 65% submissions doesn't mean he'll just go for submission like a mad man but that he will more likely look for the submission. Yes you can subspam and that is being done at times to but the higher the % submission the less likely he will perform a good submission. If you are looking for gnp the % will be higher towards ground strikes and this will be simular to how you throw a punch when in a standup fight. So to be able to preform an action in the "5th" layer your fighter has to go through the sequence of actions to the left in the picture. If one move is selected to the right the action ends there and it starts all over again. The ground top vs ground bottom slider can play an important part aswell as to how your fighter will perform. If it's high on top position and your fighter is on the ground in dissadvantage position he will try and sweap/roll his opponant to get to the top position more often so when he's trying an advance position he might go from bottom half guard to top half guard instead of progressing to bottom full guard. This is dictated by the top vs bottom slider. Having high top position will also mean your fighter will not like to be on his back and things like dropping back for a heel hook will not be possible. if he has top possition with high ground bottom he is much more likely to drop back and go for a heel hook, assuming he either makes an active submission attempt or a counter submission hope I didn't confuse you even more

  4. Likely they will chicken out. Tournaments are outside their comfort zone because they can't pick their fights on the sly.

  6. http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/39/39w15.jpg Ryan Hunt (2-1-0) Great preview Creddible. I hope my boy Vermeer wins the fight. If he doesn't, you're never allowed to pick us in a fight again. I'm starting to think you picking against us brings good luck. Also props to learning sign language, Vermeer being a mute and all.

  7. Justin Credible here, I’ll be doing a preview for IFC 11, my apologies as I had to deal with my torn ACL the past few days and couldn’t make it to do the preview but congrats on a great event! Down to business, I’ve been doing full card previews, well not anymore, I’ll give my predictions on the entire card but not an in-depth preview, only the top 5 main card fights will get that! So without further ado, let’s get started! Our main card kicks off with Jhonny Garcia v Gleb Zheglov! A pair of undefeated prospects that are looking to make a name for themselves, both men are strikers without fear of getting knocked out in the process. Jhonny Garcia is 2-0 with 2 (T)KOs both of which were in the 3rd round. Some say he doesn’t have the power to earn a 1st Round KO and that is why his previous manager and he parted ways. His new management team have called that claim “Idiotic” and have called some journalists “Misspelling illiterate dumb asses!” I think we all know who he is referring to but I’m not one to start rumors. Garcia seems to think that with a win on this card he’ll be staring at a title shot. Gleb Zheglov is 1-0 with his win coming from a war with Ronnie Ripper at a less than sanitary QFC event. Gleb thinks that he’s going to walk through Jhonny Garcia and straight to stardom, but if his fight with Ronnie Ripper was any indication… He has some work to do. This one will certainly be a war, I’m going to go with Jhonny Garcia in this one in hopes that the management switch didn’t have any effect on his mentality. Our next fight is Chocolate Milk v Count Foo in the 170lb weight class. Muay Thai against Boxing in this one, it’ll be a battle of distance and footwork. Chocolate Milk started his career off with a (Nes)quick (Get it?) victory over a fighter I personally hate, Ronald Glover. He stumbled in his fight against Peter Potter but he claims that the loss was the best thing to happen to him. He learned how to utilize his distance and how to cut the angles more effectively. He said, “I may have gotten knockout out physically, but mentally I was woken up!” Either he’s been smoking too much of Sully’s secret stash, or he’s actually learned from his loss. Count Foo is a rising prospect with loads of potential, if you need evidence just look at his Island FC debut against DJ Jordan. Foo is not fool and doesn’t know kung fu, he’ll just FU up. He is a street brawler turned crisp boxing phenom, MMA analysts everywhere were very impressed with just how well his boxing transitioned to MMA, only time will tell just how much of that hype is real. For now, I’m drinking the Kool-Aid…Not the Chocolate Milk, my pick is Count Foo! Bukau Bekua v Ivan Maksim takes place next on the main card, for some reason. A guy who is 4-0 is taking on a 20 year old who is 0-1, now in what world and on what Island does this fight make sense? I love Island FC but someone in the match making department needs a dose of reality. Bukau Bekua is a 0-1 fighter with a name that is almost as confusing as this match-up. He is a Muay Thai fighter with limited ground skills (as we’ve seen in his debut), but a ton of potential. Many critics and fans alike think this match-up is terrible and too much too soon for the young gun, but none-the-less he has huge balls for taking this fight. Ivan Maksim is a can crushing, QFC fighting, 4-0 paper fighter who has name his living beating lesser opponents (no offense to his opponents). But he is 4-0 and has a lot of hype behind him, as well as being the overwhelming favorite, he is also thought of as the No.1 contender in the 145lb division. With a win over Bekua he should punch his ticket to a title shot where he’ll be forced into fighting someone actually on his level skill wise. I’ll go with an upset pick and pick Bukau Bekua to win! No love lost between our CO-Main Event fighters Frank Karlsson v Lee Black do battle next! Both men challenged for the 205lb strap and came up shorter than a midget trying to dunk. That’s not to say these men won’t have another chance, but for now they’re thrown back into the shark tank known as the Light-Heavyweight division. Frank Karlsson is a popular fighter and a humorous presence on social media, often times calling out fighters and even the Island FC owner a few times as well. He is a brawler with hands of dynamite and a chin like Abraham Lincoln on Mount Rushmore (Stone, get it…because Abe in carved into... never mind, you get it). He chose the fight with Lee Black because the only thing that matters the Frank Karlsson is that shiny belt strapped around his waist. Not one to back down from a fight, Lee Black accepted this fight with a smile. Like Karlsson, Lee Black likes to make his presence known on social media as well, often using it to thank sponsors and poke fun at opponents. He lost his last fight but is eager to strap the gloves on and get back up the ladder. Black is a wonderful boxer with quick hands and excellent technique that he’ll try to use to control the distance. He believes that with a win over Frank Karlsson, he’s up for another shot at the title. This is a tough fight to pick, but I’m going with Frank Karlsson. One thing is for sure, the smack talk in this one should be entertaining. MAIN EVENT TIME BITCHES!!!! Hop Sing Jung v Alexander Vermeer GO AT IT FOR THE 145LB TITLE! Classic striker/grappler fight to end the night, both of these undefeated warriors are surely going to leave it in the cage. Alexander Vermeer is a beast with hands that should be legally registered as weapons and a heart that would make The Grinch jealous. He is a silent assassin and prefers to let his fighting do his talking, but when I pressed him about this fight he had this to say, “I’m glad to have gotten the title shot over that can crushed douche, and I’ll make sure I make the most out of it. I know his game plan and I know how to counter it, after I beat Hop Sing Jung the division will finally have the champion it deserves.” Hop Sing Jung is no easy task for anyone he is a top level grappler coming off the biggest win of his career against Alpha Gamma at IFC 9. His brother (Slaughterhouse FC 205lb champion) Sungwon Jung has taken time out of his career to help him train for this fight. Hop Sing Jung stated that he feels more confident than ever and ready to start the Jung Era at Island FC. He feels his grappling is too strong for Vermeer to handle and vowed to “Twist him around like a pretzel.” This one is going to be fireworks, I’m picking Alexander Vermeer to upset Hop Sing Jung and become the NEW Island FC 145lb champion! Whole Card Picks: Finch, Dudley, Armstrong, Lang, Enkamp, Garcia, Foo, Bekua, Karlsson, Vermeer Good luck to all, Justin Credible…OUT!

  9. Faster resting was implemented on the Island because of the short time each season lasts, 6 months. Because resting after fights took away a large portion the time, faster resting was implemented and was changed from 5% per session to 20% per session. (it's a bit faster on the lower part of the energy bar) The Island have had this for a few season and I must say it's a great success. The pace of the game feels better and the dead time inbetween is less. The question I now have is should this be implemented into the normal part of the game aswell? The fighting pace will be the same because of the injury factor, it's still up to 16 days which faster resting wouldn't have any impact on. The difference would be that the fighter can return to the gym and train faster than before. The benefits would be that the game would be somewhat speed up and the difference between a gym rat and an active fighter would be somewhat less as it would take at the most 5 sessions(2,5 days) to recover 100% instead of as now an entire week(7days). I think it also could benefit new managers after they've had their first QFC. They already have to wait 2 days for the QFC to take place but if they're unlucky the have to wait another week before they can do anything else with their fighters. That's a lot of waiting time for some one who is trying to find out if the like the game. (assuming they are left with 0% energy after their first fight). This would get them quicker back into the gym to see those improvements that gets us all hooked on the game. Benefits Faster recovery More gym time Less deadtime Faster game pace It's any easy enough implementation and it really has been a very positive thing for the Island, why not to the rest of the game aswell?

I want a rematch with The Champion, Our first fight was close as hell and I made one mistake. I fixed and improved my game plan and showed it when I spanked Romanov again. I'll take a fight with the HW Champion if Sotiris wants to duck me again like the first time. I just want my Title, I just hope the org has faith in me and believes in my abilities. I want to be the Champ for a long time and become #1 P4P, it will happen, I guarantee it, all I need is an opportunity and I won't disappoint. "

  17. Money laundering is the art of transfering money from your fighters to your manager account. Currently it is only possible for the manager to give the fighters cash but fighters can't give anything back to their manager. So when a fighter becomes succesful he can have several thousands of dollars locked to the account with no way of distributing it to the other fighters the manager owns. By doing laundery you move that money back to the manager account so you can distribute it the way you want it. How it's done is by first contacting the ones doing the laundery, then buy the agreed amount of stock. The laundery takes a "cleaning" fee and the rest is transfered to your manager account

  21. Since we have 12 sign ups that leaves us with a total of $300,000 in the prize fund. I will add an extra $25000 to make it $325000. First place prize = $300,000 Runner Up = $25,000 (entry fee is returned)

I hope to see you in Sully's for an after-fight beer Simbo! Cause even if I might come across as a little brass before fights, I have respect after the fight. Now it's time to heal up and get ready for another fight that will take me one step closer to that title.

  30. I think it usually switches back and forth, not exactly sure what the reason for that is. But years ago it was guys like Tonal and Victor Creed that dominated the rankings for a long period. Then we went through the phase of Otso Jokinen and Danny Powers and Sly Randolph's and that era of little guys who seemed to dominate the rankings. Then it switched again to the likes of Womba and then Rinky and Leo. Now it's shifting back again it seems.

League 37 (P: 2) Top Fighter: Gegard Mousasi ICON Profile: A grizzled veteran manager of Tycoon MMA, Lockdown has fallen on some hard times as of late, but that does not take away from his achievements and experience. He has managed champions, including former light heavyweight starlet Gegard Mousasi, and has had over 50 wins in title fights, a record not to be sniffed at. Formerly the no.6 ranked manager in the world, Lockdown will have plenty of value as a mentor to the less experienced managers; especially when it comes to managing fighters in title fights and difficult stylistic matchups, as Lockdown has shown great versatility in this area. Despite most of his fighters favouring knockouts/TKOs, Lockdown knows how to game plan for grappling, he has a winning record in the TWGC and his most successful fighter, Gegard Mousasi, is something of a master of submissions. Lockdown is also very savvy when it comes to recruitment, he has made world champions out of several fighters that other managers have given up on, including Gegard Mousasi and heavyweight slugger Blood Bane. His motto of Life is hard if you are soft rings true often, as he releases fighters almost at will if they are performing badly or are uninspiring. The challenge for Lockdown now as a manager is to get some younger talent on board, many of his best fighters are in their late 30s, with the aforementioned Mousasi and Bane having both lost their last two and undoubtedly reaching the end of their careers. Lockdown must either find this fighter from within his own ranks or perform another masterstroke and find the next Mousasi. He can already help the Alliance as a presence behind the scenes, but he must now pick his own record up to be a true driving force behind their rise; with his fighters having lost 11 of their last 15 fights. Perhaps Lockdown can do worse than link up with former protégé and TWGC Light Heavyweight Division 2 finalist “The Outlaw” Haer Dalis who Lockdown inexplicably released whilst he was on a 3 fight win streak. The Outlaw has also fallen on hard times recently, losing his last 3 fights by TKO and has not fought in nearly a year. Still only 24, Dalis is a grappling machine, capable of taking down and controlling almost anyone on the ground. His striking deficiencies have been exposed, however if he and Lockdown were to reignite their relationship as fighter and manager, they could provide each other with the spark that both of their careers need. We look forward to seeing what 2016 brings for this legend of the game, hopefully he finds a way to turn it around.

League 2 (P: 4) Top Fighter: Sven Tveskabb ICON Profile: A Manager of multiple champions, The Philosopher has proven that he is up there with the very best managers in the game. The Swedish mastermind has a record of nearly three times as many wins as he has losses, that’s seriously impressive. As the no.2 manager in ICON; second only to the unbelievable Rocco Mediate, The Philosopher will aspire great things in 2016. He will be looking to put more world titles around his fighter’s waist, climb even further up the managerial rankings and possibly even surpass his buddy Rocco as the top dog in ICON Alliance. The Philosopher is a fan of knockouts, of his 164 wins, 108 of those have been knockouts by his fighters, however; he also shines as a tactician. His best fighter Sven Tveskabb, usually a knockout artist, is best known for his incredible trilogy with tough submission artist Jandre Vorster. After a close fight that ended in a narrow decision victory for Tveskabb for him to claim the Tradition Bantamweight Title. He then defended this title three time before dropping the belt to Vorster by first round submission. He was then given a rematch with just a month to prepare, and this was where his manager’s tactical nous was truly shown. Tveskabb absolutely dominated the fight, keeping it standing and winning a clear decision over Vorster. This was a display of The Philosopher’s knowledge of the game and adaptability. Sven is currently without a promotion or a fight and it will be very exciting to see what happens next. Another exciting career to follow is the one of 21 year old finishing machine Yngve Stolt. “The Prince” debuted in 2015 and won a title in only his 4th professional fight and has gone 6-0. The current RIO Chain Gang Welterweight Champion is a scary fighter who has been prophesised to take over the Tycoon MMA world. Do not be surprised to see this man enter Pound for Pound conversations by the end of 2016. His lethal head kicks and boxing ability will take him far, and could really elevate his manager and the ICON Alliance. All in all, a credit to the ICON Alliance, The Philosopher looks set to have a truly record breaking 2016 as a manager.

  44. OH BOY what a night ....10 Fights 1 decision 8 First round finishes and a desgrassefull No Contest for failing to make weight... straight from the Island ,very own ,Meca, the Underground arena was once again packed with celebritys bad bitches and this time we have my nigga Denzel in the crowd...MMA is spreading like wild fire...people just cant get enough of it....and now let me break it down for you : 155lbs TITLE Sub of the night Dino Guidotti vs Andy Dufresne This was a fight to establishe a king on the lightweight division,by far the least competitive division in the promotion, and we trying to change that, for that we needed a Champ to set our target, and our brand new 155lbs Champion is Dino Guidotti,he came up against Andy and were both undefeated with the same 2-0 record....someones 0 would have to go,and did....Dino started the fight better, stuning Andy with a couple of shots in the begining of the round, close the distance ,and put to use hes brawling style from close distance, hurting Andy again and follow with the take down, you could tell this one was a question of time till was over....and out of mercy ,it looked,Dino worked hes way trough a Kimura, and put Andy out of hes misery....desapointing night for Andy and a joyfull one for Dino ....1st round submission win KO of the night Heimdal The Destroyer vs Eric Gabriel This was a welterweight contest between 2 title contenders and a win on this one would put one of them in a mix for a title shot.....Knowing this before they came into the cage both fighters looked focus and determined ,but The Destroyer ,of carreers had the eye that little something that only a very few fighters possesse....he closed the distance and clinched, avoiding those leg kicks, then he delivered hes trademark dirty boxing tactics using hes agression and continious striking, until that big right upercut found home....well deserved 1st round TKO win for The Destroyer and he send out a warning to the Champ.... Ryan Hunt vs Simbo Klice The fight game can be cruel, you need to be awear all the time any impse in concentration can be deadly, that was the case with Klice, after geting cut in the first seconds of round 1 ,Klice took over operations ,scoring a huge take dow, he drove that one right trough, and then droped bombs ...inbetween round one an two Hunt's face looked like a Syrian city after an Allie air strike...Klice confidence was sky high coming into the second ,but Ryan had diferent plans and he knew the breack would give him a change to compose himself and above all, the second round would start standing , so, that would give him a chance to do what he does best....and boy he did it......2nd round TKO win for Hunt Jerry Johnson vs Carlos Diego Ferreira Carlos should pursuit hes dream of a gardening carreer in my opinion....he doesnt look someone cut for this....in this fight both fighters came of a defeat and had a chance to prove their worth ,Jerry took the chance with both hands, never giving Ferreira a chance to set the pace he start taging Ferreira with sharp boxing and extreme takedown defence....he finish the fight with a briliant counter that send Ferreira flying to the canvas and then follow uop with strikes forcing the ref to step in and finish the fight....Johnson wins 1st round KO Artur Syrowatka vs Thundercunt Artur Syrowatka really struggled with his weight cut for this fight. After coming in at 209.1, he had two hours to cut the additional weight. He was unable to do so and as a result, his fight with Theophilius Thundercunt was cancelled. Heavy sanction will be expected for fighters failing to make weight....careless shammefull behaviour..... Zui quan Tso vs Patrick Fitzgerald Fitzgerald looked to be the more agressive stand up fighter, causing considerable damage but very wild at times and exposed himself defensivly doing that...Tso notice that and instigated a clinch controlin Fitzgerald against the cage, from were he worked some precise dirty boxing until Fitzgerald legs gave up....deserved 1st round TKO for Tso in a very good fight Fight of the night Darth Sidious vs Michal Pontius There was not much hiting home but the cheer agressivity and overwelming power of Sidious did the job.....not much technic in display just 2 guys trying to rip each others head off....the less educated fans loved it....the more educated fans respected their comitment to win....saying that Sidious is 4-0 now and moved considerably up in the ranks....good 1st Round TKO win Aidan Kincaid vs Ace Vankill Its looking grim for Ace ,he's record now stands at 0-3 and by the look of things ,doesnt look like its going to get any better anytime soon....dreadfull...Aidan took advantage of this limping gazele and feed himself scoring an easy win without taking any major damage,he looks fresh and ready to go next week....good TKO win for Aidan Brutus Beefcake vs Philippe Leclair Leclair was doing well while the fight was standing ,wining the exanges on the feet ,but Brutus just run over him like a run away train...he just bully him double leg him and start reconstructing hes face with brutal ground and pound it didnt took long before the ref steped in and save him from brain damage...impressive 1st round win for Brutus Hyman Krustovsky vs Thomas Kirkland Kirkland look to be going places ,dominant decision win,on hes professional debut, showing great hiden skills and playing tactics to perfection....he unexpectadly over striked hes oponent with power strikes eventualy rocking him in the begining of round 3 ,could have had the finish but enexperience didnt allow him to go for the kill....looking bright good fight On this event we leave with mixed emotions , we had great fights, lots of exitment and finishes.....but i cant help but question the comitment of some managers....FA and failing to make weight still a big headhache for the promotion....saying that...we still TOP.....Myself, JJ, and Park's wich you all best wiches and good preparation...so we can stay TOP...WELCOME to the PREMIERSHIP of Island MMA #MAMADO#IslandFC10Review

  45. IFC Fight Night 1 Review This was a parallel event with Island FC 9, with 3 title fights and the "who is who" of MMA present in the Hayashi's Lounge, a venue filled with 2000 roaring fans and a night filled wih emotions and drama...10 fights 8 finishes, lets break it down for you: 185lbs TITLE Rick James vs Jonny Bones Junior Rick controlled the clinch briliantly ,very strong he keept the fight in the clinch and made Bones trade with him they were both landing, but the elbows from Rick were the ones causing the most damage, opening a gash over Bones eye ,it looked grossome, and the fight was stoped by the doctor with 3 sec left in round 2.... 265+lbs TITLE (KO of the Night) Afonso Cabral vs Billy Joe Afonso is an absolutly beast, the promotion super-heavyweight champ and p4p king, made a statement with this win....Billy didnt even know what happend it was fast and furious, imagine a 300lbs gorila grabing someone clinching your head with the left hand and unload ,big right upercuts....thats what hapend here....the insurance police on the 265+lbs division went considerably up with the way Cabral is finishing hes oponents...well done 1st round KO 205lbs TITLE (Submission of the Night) Martyn Ford vs Frank Karlsson This one was quick,41 sec, the fight started has expected with Karlson starting well with a few punches right on the button ,Ford realizing that he had no business with Karlson on hes feet, he went for the take down, got it and to be honest he was a bit fortunate ,on the way they landed, stright into side control,(wrestlers paradise)isolated an arm ,squeezed and ...nite nite for Karlson Peter Potter vs Octavion Prompethius This was a battle fought on the clinch by 2 chez players ,very good fight with none of this undefeated fighters wanting to loose and they took it for a decision where Potter won rightfully so, in my eyes the acuracy from potter made the diference....Octavion is still a great fighter and we will ear from him soon (Fight of the Night) Mark Wahlberg vs Julian Day You cant hit what you cant see ,Mark was ilusive in defence and lethal in attack 90 + % shoot acuracy and 90 + % striking defense,he took Day to school until that head kick follow by the upercut put Day to rest ,midway trough the 2nd round. Herminio Herculano vs Alex Mack Herminio Muay Thai clinch is something else is so strong and so tenacious with that clinch, once he gets you oponents must feel like they stuck on moving sand ,the more they fight to get loose, they get careless with defence and he takes advantage of it like no one else....after beating Alex up for 3 min the ref saw enough and stoped the fight ,good 1st round TKO Alexander Vermeer vs Jesus Icon For me this one deserved the fight of the night award Vermeer put up on a performance, backing up hes talk for a title shot....he looked determined to finish the fight early and didnt loose any time with counters ,he just went for it ,clinched ,trow some creative strikes and dirty boxed hes way trough to victory...very impressive and this KO win earn him the title shot he craved..."now its back to the gym, and try to get that belt"..... Rudy Mar Binay vs Sid Vicious Binay looked like a man possessed, i mean it was like watching sex ofender geting released into a convent, and found himself closed in a room with an half naked hot nun,hes going to be on that till he gets it, the same way Binay was on that submission quest till he got it...by the way well executed americana Issumatar Tariaksuq vs Robbie Rockhold I never seen someone trying so many times to take someone down without success 24-0...damm...he was going for it ,in a dumb way of course, and more then the leg kicks, what caused the most damage,in my opinion, was the body kicks ,Rockhold looked winded, brilint game plan credit to the manager, tactics won the fight for the underdog, The Arctic Frost did came to play on this one Issumata copletly frose Rockhold ,i the end he definitly deserved the unanimous decision win. Kingsley Babajide vs Obat Timur #TAKEDOWN#SUBMISSION#27SEC Great event as allways we try to bring to you the best fights very successfull night for the promotion with records being broke....Myself, JJ, and Park's wich you Peace and Love #MAMADO
