#R1# Montes tries to land a leg kick but Galvao saw it coming and moves away.
Galvao with a lazy takedown attempt #KD2# and Montes counters with a crisp one two that drops Galvao! Montes thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Galvao to his feet! Galvao is in big trouble! Galvao tries to clinch but Montes is having none of it. Montes listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Galvao gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Montes gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

#R1# A punch lands to the side of Montes 's head but he takes it in his stride. Ross Rumbalo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rumbalo connects with a crisp jab. Rumbalo takes one on the button. Rumbalo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Montes tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Rumbalo throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Rumbalo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Rumbalo's corner calls for a 1-2. Rumbalo obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Montes has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. A telegraphed right hand from Montes misses the target. Rumbalo connects with a body shot. No joy there for Rumbalo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Montes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rumbalo manages to avoid it. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A slow jab from Rumbalo misses its intended target. Rumbalo on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. A jab from Rumbalo does it's job there. Rumbalo scores with a three punch combo!
Rumbalo misses with a straight right. Montes is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
#T1##KD2# Oooooh!!! Montes has knocked Rumbalo down with a huge combo! Montes steps away and waves a wobbly Rumbalo back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!#ROC2#Rumbalo is rocked!#CUT2#It looks like Ross Rumbalo has been cut. Montes fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Oh Rumbalo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Montes ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Rumbalo is breathing heavily. Montes throws an overhand right that lands on Rumbalo's shoulder, as Rumbalo tries to avoid the shot. Rumbalo seems to have got his legs back now. Montes goes for a small jab and connects. Now Montes goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Rumbalo stumbles back but Montes runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Rumbalo to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Rumbalo will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

and Montes rattles Jacoby with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Jacoby tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Montes dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Jacoby stiff and motionless on the mat!

#R1# Gage looks for a takedown but Montes sprawls well.#TD2# Montes drives through with a takedown into Gage's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Gage on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gage tries to get out of the position. Gage tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Montes is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Gage preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Gage trying to control the position here. Montes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Montes won't allow Gage to sweep him here. #SUB# Montes got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gage has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Montes has managed to get both his arms back between Gage's legs - danger averted.#SUB# Gage is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. #T1# Gage wants to sweep but no luck. Montes trying to move into half guard but instead Gage has managed to sweep!#REVR# Montes working a defensive guard here.
Gage postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Montes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gage is controlling him. Montes avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Gage is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. #T2# Gage with a nice head shot there. Gage has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Gage postures up.
Gage scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Gage is looking to work some ground and pound but Montes has wrist control. Gage chips away with some ground and pound. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gage's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Montes keeping moving, preventing Gage from controlling successfully. #SUB2# Montes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gage can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Gage is in close to Montes's body, working some short punches and elbows.#T3# Gage passes into half guard. Gage not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Gage missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Gage drops an elbow to the side of Montes's head. Gage is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Gage misses with a head shot. Montes uses the momentum to regain guard. Gage wants to control from the top but Montes keeps moving. Montes looking to control.

Gage working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Montes is controlling Gage's posture. Gage stops Montes from standing up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Montes has momentary wrist control but Gage slips an elbow through the middle. Gage works over Montes with some ground and pound from guard. Gage is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Tyler Gage dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!#R2##CL# Gage moves into the clinch. Gage is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Montes pulls him back up using the underhooks. #TD2# Montes pulls guard. Montes controls Gage momentarily but Gage frees himself. Gage throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Montes works some decent striking defense from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gage trying to control the position from guard on top but Montes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gage passes easily into side control. Nice work. Check out the look on Gage's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Montes is not in a great position here, taking some shots. #SUB# Gage wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Montes, who protects the arm well. Gage is working Montes over with some ground and pound from side control. #T2# Montes is working to avoid the ground and pound but Gage connects with a decent elbow. Montes managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Gage.
Gage working away. Gage gets to mount! Montes was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Gage with good strikes from the mount here! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gage cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Montes is working to get back to half guard.
