The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackacy is pressing down on Karhu's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Jackacy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Karhu looking to pass the guard. #T1# Jackacy is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Jeffries slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Jeffries postures up in Karhu's guard and throws a big left but Karhu blocks it. Jeffries is looking to work some ground and pound but Karhu has wrist control. Karhu keeping moving, preventing Jeffries from controlling successfully. Jeffries working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jeffries gets through Karhu's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Karhu tries to work over Jeffries's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Jeffries goes for a takedown attempt but Karhu pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

#T3# Still in the clinch, Karhu scores with a nice short uppercut. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Jeffries. Karhu swings wildly with an uppercut but Jeffries uses good head movement to avoid it. Jeffries is pushing Karhu up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Jeffries drops down looking for an ankle pick but Karhu pulls his leg out and moves away.

Jeffries lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pittman! But no joy. Pittman fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Benzo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Benzo throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. It seemed like Pittman was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Nice uppercut lands for Pittman. That snapped Benzo's head back.

Pittman throws a hook but Benzo avoids it easily. Pittman keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ritanzo Benzo. Well Benzo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Grover Pittman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Braxton looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Braxton stuffs the takedown attempt from Pittman. Pittman gets slowly back to his feet. Braxton takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.#T1# Pittman swats away the attempt to clinch by Braxton.#CL2# Pittman takes the fight into the clinch. Pittman displaying some good clinch control by pressing Braxton up against the cage. Pittman tries to pull guard but Braxton holds him up against the cage and eventually Pittman drops back down to his feet.

Pittman manages to get full guard. Pittman is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Braxton dives into side control.
#REVB# We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pittman is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Braxton tries to move to mount but Pittman blocks the move with his legs. Pittman is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Braxton asserts his dominance and retains side control.#T3##SUB# Braxton has hold of Pittman's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Pittman seems comfortable defending it but Braxton has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Pittman is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Pittman is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Braxton couldn't care less - he's delighted!

#R1##TD# Pittman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.#SUB# Pittman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rockford is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rockford has escaped and now he's on top! #REVB# The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SUB# Pittman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rockford doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rockford manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. #SUB# Pittman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rockford gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rockford sitting in guard here, content to control. Pittman controls Rockford momentarily but Rockford frees himself. #T1# Rockford advances to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pittman blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rockford. #SUB# Pittman looking for submissions off his back. Rockford winds up and cracks Pittman with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Rockford content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Rockford throwing shots but Pittman is blocking nicely. #T2# A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rockford gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Pittman prevents Rockford from getting the reversal. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rockford wants to hold on but Pittman pushes him away.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Grover Pittman. Well Pittman has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
