Smith tries to counter by closing the distance.
Smith dives in and grabs Reznov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reznov pushes down on Smith's head and hops out.#TD#
Reznov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Reznov lands in his opponent's guard.
Reznov slips nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith manages to get to full guard.

and Moxley counters with a straight right hand.
Smyth gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

Smyth misses with a series of wild punches.
Moxley looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Smyth throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Moxley's waist but Moxley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Smyth off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dio Smyth. That's going to take a lot out of him.
