#R1# Sampson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Echeverria moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Echeverria is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Sampson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
#CL2# and Echeverria counters by clinching up. Sampson stalling the fight.
Sampson misses with a hook from the clinch. #BC2# Echeverria breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sampson shoots for a takedown but Echeverria saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Echeverria wants to counter the offense by Sampson and move into the clinch position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sampson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Echeverria counters with a series of strikes. Sampson will be more careful next time no doubt. #T1# A combination from Sampson does no damage. Sampson goes for a double leg but Echeverria avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Echeverria continues to drive forward. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roosevelt Sampson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sampson shoots in looking for a takedown but Echeverria manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sampson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Sampson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Echeverria counters with a three punch combo that has Sampson backing up. Sampson nods at Echeverria to acknowledge the strikes.#TD# Sampson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Echeverria did well to prevent Sampson getting side control. Sampson stops Echeverria from getting back to his feet.
#T2# Echeverria is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Echeverria is looking to get back to is feet but Sampson passes into side control.
Sampson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. #SUB# Sampson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Echeverria is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Echeverria is pushing Sampson's head away, looking to escape. Echeverria has Sampson pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sampson manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Echeverria is looking to work some ground and pound but Sampson has wrist control. Echeverria displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sampson. And Echeverria tries to counter it with a takedown but Sampson pushes his down on his head and steps out. Sampson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Echeverria as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roosevelt Sampson. Urbano Echeverria showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. #R3# Sampson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. And that's the end of the fight! Urbano Echeverria comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Echeverria has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
